Good Morning Everyone,
Its a cloudy start but the ground is dry at the moment here in Brackley .
Today , a busy one in away , housework followed by a haircut , then late morning get the bus to Bicester for usual hour, then return to relax with Tour De France on Tv and watch it slowly unfold as no twp. stages are the same , mainly seeing how the Brits perform.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning all.
Just popping in to send sincere condolences to the family of Grandmajet
It was very major surgery she was facing and she was so upbeat and brave.

I am also in awe of Alizarin having had the same op last year I know the restrictions, please don’t overdo it.

Best wishes to all on this thread, I read your doings everyday but life is so uneventful and mundane I don’t want to bore you by posting.

Comma missing there.
I seem to indicate Alizarin had the same op as Grandma jet
apologies.

Such sad news about Grandmajet that has brought us all down, thank you brook2704 for passing on our support. Jackjaxy* you had a day of it! Hope FiL recovers well, and many congrats to your GD, no wonder you are all proud.. Hope you feel better soon Marydoll

GD's school has decided to have their summer concert outside, we are encouraged to bring chairs and picnics. I think it is a lovely idea as long as the weather holds out. Any ideas on what to take, as I have been tasked with providing the picnic for 5, which will have to double as a main meal?

Good morning Mick and all from a bright northwest Lancashire coast.
So sorry to hear about Grandmajet and just shows how fragile life is. It really brings it home to you.
Lovely day yesterday at Harewood House then handsome Harrogate. Another stately pile ticked off the list. A lot was made of the fact that much of the money came from the West Indies sugar plantations but “Strange Fruit” playing in the nearby 15th century church as I looked at the very ancient alabaster figures on the tombs (faces and hands bashed up) seemed a strange choice of music.
Lots of walking yesterday so just a quiet day today, catching up on some telephoning.
Yes Grandmafrench I will see how this wonky knee goes on and maybe take it further if no improvement, thank you.
Hope you all have a nice day and thoughts to the worried.

Good morning, Mick and everyone from a very warm and sunny Carlisle where I've had to be out watering the new lawn yet again.
I have constantly wondered about Grandmajet and beginning to fear the worst. I'm sad that's now true, she was a brave lady. Thank you, brook.
I won't witter on but wish you all a good day.

Alizarin Tue 29-Jun-21 12:48:24

It's ok annsixty, I knew what you meant because I remember you having the same op. Fortunately I have been blessed with a very strong body (so the medics/osteopaths tell me) and I do stick to the advice given, so I am being careful. For both hip replacements I've told my consultant that I am naturally an overdoer of things and each time he's said don't worry, your body will let you know when to stop and he's right!

It's been so sad to read the news from Panache and Grandmajet's family.

I should be off out on a walk today as mentioned early but walking around our building site five hours ago I fell backwards after stepping up one level of ground to another. Soft landing but couldn't get up and when helped up I couldn't put any weight on my left foot. Knee pain. So doing the RICE bit and just talked to the doctor on the phone. Going to try to put weight on it in a couple of hours to see what the pain is like. She said it could be a broken fibia.

My poor DD. She is so lovely. Helped so much whilst MrM was busy with two lots of workmen we've hear today. I've insisted she gets the walk in with DGD and MrM is popping in every hour and has his phone with him.

I have my book, tennis and laptop to keep my mind off it all.
