I think EV was on a final warning last time I saw a post from her it was on a controversial thread and her post was deleted.

I can only speculate that she is on the naughty step (maybe permanently)?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 30-Jun-21 08:17:46

Morning Mick and all

Have just got The Imp to school for Archery practice, he is a bit bleary eyed after all the excitement of the Football last night. He is only 6 but happily bouncing round our kitchen singing ^its coming home^??

GN community has had two bereavements in a couple of days, sending love to both families, especially our dear Panache

Bed changing, gym and general pottering today. Muse and Ashcombe I think rest is needed. Marydoll enjoy your afternoon tea (have you tried nosecco?)

Have attached a photo of two noisy birds who have taken up residence outside my bedroom window!!!

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Good morning all. Grey skies here at Batty Towers. Hopefully they'll burn off later. Ashcombe I hope your bp settles soon. Susan what lovely views. I can understand the appeal. Alizarin definitely a jungle vibe! Don't overdo things. Marydoll enjoy your afternoon tea. I haven't had a strawberry tart this year yet. Time to visit the baker I think.
Yesterday was a glorious day. The boy wonder and I spent it in and out of the garden. Needless to say the man who was going to do some work for me called off but promised to come today. Dgs has been really affectionate the last few days which was lulling me into false sense of security. He had a mad half hour, tearing around, throwing things about and nothing would settle him. It was completely my fault as it was a sugar high. I had given him chocolate ice cream. I'll not be doing that again in a hurry! However I treasure the time I get to spend with him when he's little, although I'm exhausted at the end of it.
Today, fingers crossed, the hedges will be trimmed back. They are thugs of leylandii and I'm determined to get them cut down gradually. I had eight feet taken off them last year. The previous owner just didn't bother about them. I'll go out and water the plants soon. No visit to mum today but I'll see her on Friday as my lovely aunt has invited us for afternoon tea at the local golf club. DD is coming too. So no plans for today until I see if the garden work gets done. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a cloudy but warm Black Country.

Sorry to hear of your health concern Ashcombe I sincerely hope your doctor can put your mind at rest.

flowers for muse wishing you a speedy recovery.

Susan I love Llangollen, it was mine and MrJ's first weekend away together, and have been a few times since.

Grandmajets family and Panache are in my thoughts today. Concerned too about EV hoping that someone on GN is in touch with her

No real plans today, just go with the flow.

dragonfly46 Wed 30-Jun-21 08:09:15

Good morning from a brightish Leicestershire.

We are off to the Hope Valley in the Peak District today for a few days to stay with my SiL. I am really looking forward to it.

Sorry to hear of your aches and pains Harrygran are they caused by the damp.
Ashcombe how worrying for you, I was admitted with AF recently but have not had an attack since. I put mine down to stress.

Sorry to hear your about your brother kitty and my thoughts are with Panache.

Greyduster Wed 30-Jun-21 08:06:51

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It is a grey sky day in South Yorkshire and none too warm. DS and DiL are coming down for a couple of day and we have booked a visit to Chatsworth House today. We’ve been there a few times over the years, but it’s a first for them. Some sunshine would have been nice but if it stays dry it’ll be okay.
I’ll have to get moving. Have a good day folks!

Gingster Wed 30-Jun-21 07:59:45

Good morning from another dreary day here in Essex. I’m glad all the northern/Scottish grans are having the sun for a change but we’d like it back fairly soon, please.

Breakfast this morning with DD, in a tiny cafe round the corner. We’ve never been but it’s always busy and people recommend the food and service. It has a small outside area too, so hopefully we won’t have to queue. Then I’m off to the hairdressers . I haven’t had colour on now for about 18 months and I think I might leave it au naturelle. I’ve got used to it after being a fiery redhead (like Marydoll), all my life.

Ash sorry to hear of you’re health concerns. Hopefully the doc will sort you out ?.
Muse when I saw you had fallen, I immediately confused you with Alizirin (Cornwall connection) . Oh no, her hip, I thought ?, she’s fallen in the allotment! I’m pleased it’s not her but sorry you’ve taken a tumble. Speedy recovery!

Will watch the tennis later - lots of players slipping and hurting themselves.

Sar I finished the book ‘Three Hours’ that you recommended. Very tense and I couldn’t stop reading it.

Wishing you all a lovely day. ???

Susan56 Wed 30-Jun-21 07:50:54

Good morning from sunny Shropshire.

Sorry to hear about your health worries Ash,I hope that things settle down?and muse hope a day of rest helps??

We decided yesterday to make the most of the day and have a day off from chores. We went to Llangollen for lunch then on to Bala for afternoon tea.I have attached a couple of pics from Llangollen. We are so lucky to live just a few miles from such a beautiful place. The apartments in one of the pictures is where we would like to live if ever the garden gets too much.View of the railway for DH and the river for me.Driving home from Bala the scenery was stunning.

Alizarin, you have a lot of work to do?take it easy!

Mary enjoy your day.

I am going for a manicure and pedicure later.First time for about eighteen months.

Mary, I’m thinking maybe Urms and another gransnetter were in touch with EV?it would be good to know she is ok.

Thinking of panache and Grandmajets family today?

Have the best day you can everyone.

Stilllearning Wed 30-Jun-21 07:46:36

Good morning from a cloudy S Lanarkshire. I had a lovely busy holiday with family and just caught up with Gransnet last evening. I was truly sorry to read of Grandmajets death, Like the rest of us, I have been thinking about her a lot. Thank you for passing on our condolences Brook
I think that Grandmafrenchs post expressed things perfectly.

I hope things settle for you soon Ashcombe, these episodes are horrible, especially if you’re on your own. I hope you feel better today and that things go well for everyone else.

brook2704 Wed 30-Jun-21 07:45:37

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a warm cloudy start to the day. The last few days have been really warm and sunny, we’ve been so very lucky with the weather recently.
A quieter day for me today as SiL is off work today so we’ve not got the DGC to look after. We had a good trip out with them on Monday to Urquhart Castle and yesterday took them out for a walk and a picnic.
I hope your BP settles down Ashcombe, try not to worry and hoping your foot isn’t too painful muse and you’re up and about again soon
That’s a lovely shop window nannagarra very interesting with lots to look at
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

ginny Wed 30-Jun-21 07:40:35

Good morning all.
Sad to read that so many of you have problems and hope many are resolved soon.

Looking out of our caravan window, I can see blue sky here in Weston-Super-Mare where we stayed overnight. On to meet our friends in Brixham today.
Hope you can all find a smile today.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 30-Jun-21 07:34:18

Good Morning. Again it’s dull here like yesterday although it did brighten up around lunchtime and I did 3 wash loads.
We have dgs today so a full on day! Not sure weather wise what that will be. It might have to be indoor activities maybe soft play and a visit to a cafe for refreshments after. Grandma won’t get to watch much tennis today.
Sorry to hear about your health problem last night Ashcombe hope sport didn’t contribute eh? Seriously wishing you get it sorted soon.
* Marydoll* every time you mention tablet it makes my mouth water. Ever thought doing about mail order!
Sad news yesterday of Grandmajet and Panache thinking of the families involved.

Take care everyone.

Alizarin Wed 30-Jun-21 07:32:53

Good morning from a breezy, brightening south Cornwall. Oh muse and Ashcombe, I hope things improve for you soon. My allotment was, as expected, a jungle, with a 12 foot high echium (pictured) rising above the general undergrowth. It was a tiny plant last time I saw it. I managed to hack my way through to the globe artichokes and a bushful of goosberries and discovered a horseradish plant I'd forgotten about. My leeks are six feet high, with flower heads. Plenty of work for the weeks ahead, and I feel much refreshed by having been there. And yes, I was careful. Just did lots of pulling weeds out.

Today, maybe a short trip back there, and then watching the tennis. Have the best day you can.

Jaxjacky Wed 30-Jun-21 07:29:15

?for early healing muse.

Pittcity Wed 30-Jun-21 07:28:14

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester. Only 15 degrees today.

Usual Wednesday coffee meetup. We'll probably be inside the café in small groups.

It's the 2 week anniversary of the start of our garden work and the paving is still far from finished. The weather isn't playing ball and the guy is juggling jobs. The weeds are loving being left to their own devices.

Much love x

cornergran Wed 30-Jun-21 07:27:16

Ouch muse, hope that improves today if not then yes, go for the x-ray, please take care.

Jaxjacky Wed 30-Jun-21 07:27:07

Good morning all from sun/high cloud in S Hants. Rather subdued yesterday morning after the sad news on GN.
I did thoroughly enjoy the football in our local last night, out on a week night!
Marydoll enjoy ‘5 go to afternoon tea’ in the sunshine. Harri fingers crossed for a successful dental trip.
Ashcombe bit of a worry and the more the anxiety, it will rise, hopefully it’ll be sorted and settled quickly. The tour is heating up Mick, exciting!
MrJ is off today, his plans include getting the TV in our bedroom working. Much excitement last night as it looks like, after identifying the poo, we have a hedgehog in the garden, I’ll be buying dog biscuits, unknown in this house.
Enjoy your Wednesday everyone, I feel we all need a ?or two, preferably a flock to bring cheer.

NanKate Wed 30-Jun-21 07:24:47

Sorry to hear about your accident Muse.

cornergran Wed 30-Jun-21 07:24:30

Morning Mick, Morning All. Our sky can’t make up its mind this morning, look out the front and see grey cloud, look out the back and it’s sunshine and blue sky.

Marydoll is right, a sad day on GN yesterday. Panache has been in my thoughts. Hope that BP settles ashcombe, you must be worried. Pleased your husband is showing some interest in the world again harri but sorry you were achey, tension do you think? I’d made an emergency call to my hairdresser kitty, felt really low about my appearance, felt better after a visit yesterday, , hope the same for you. Pleased you’ve spoken to your brother, good luck with the meeting, a worthwhile project for sure. Enjoy your afternoon marydoll, sounds fun.

Usual Wednesday ahead here. Grocery delivery and dust removal. Also need to empty the car of bits and pieces. A request from the garage before it’s MoT tomorrow. Not sure if that’s usual or our garage is fussy. May do a tip run once the boot is clear, see how we go.

Hope Wednesday is kind to us all. Take care everyone.

NanKate Wed 30-Jun-21 07:23:25

Good morning Mick and All from West Sussex where it seems to be brightening up. We are looking after the our DGSs first time since March 2020. Can’t wait to see them when they arrive back after school.

It’s seems rather a sad and concerning day here on GM. So good we have each other to communicate with and share our problems.

I’m sure your highlights will look great Kitty. Enjoy you party Mary. How sad for Panache. Hope you can sort out your BP Ashcombe.

muse Wed 30-Jun-21 07:17:48

?. That should read garden chairs and benches …. Sorry posters.

Nannagarra Wed 30-Jun-21 07:15:43

Shop front in Lymm.

muse Wed 30-Jun-21 07:11:43

Good morning Mick from cloudy mid Cornwall.
I’ll try with some happier news for you ashcombe.

My fall yesterday has resulted in complete rest, ice and painkillers. The surgery were excellent yesterday and said after 24 hours if the pain was still as bad I should get an X-ray to check for a broken fibula . I’m still in bed but last night I managed to put some weight on my foot. I will decide by lunch time whether to leave it one more day. We had 2 crutches in storage. I’m thankful MrM is a hoarder.

DD and DGD have been instructed to ‘see Cornwall’. MrM has his mobile in his pocket and will be by my side if needed. A good book and good tennis today will keep me happy. The sun will be out so DD is going to put me a chair and stool outside. Garden and benches are too low for good support.

Take care everyone.
????

Nannagarra Wed 30-Jun-21 07:08:51

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is overcast.
A visit to Lymm for a dental check up and stitch removal is on my agenda this morning. I’m hoping to send two photos of a shop front seen the last time I was there. ? (Atm they’re frozen at the preview stage on my phone…)
Oh, Ash, I do hope your BP settles down soon and the ECG goes well.
Have the best day you can everyone. ?

Marydoll Wed 30-Jun-21 07:04:24

Ashcome, how worrying and scary for you, you must have got a fright.. Despite trying umpteen medications mine has been extremely high for years, but nothing has worked to bring it down. It just became stressful, so I stopped measuring my BP in the end.

I hope your GP can reassure you today,
