Good morning from a hazy Colchester. We've had overnight rain and there's more in the forecast. Warm and humid.
We have gardening to do around our new patio, weeding and edging etc.
Two DGS to stay overnight. We'll be watching the football this evening and working out who can sleep where as this is the first sleepover in our new smaller house.
Love to all xx

Good morning Mick and all from warm Lueneburg. Lovely sunshine for doing some shredding and other gardening work. We started meeting in our club yesterday with 10 people. It was so nice to see them all again after such a long time. I took Waldi for a long walk along the river in the next village. She is 14 years old and not as active as before and the heat isn`t liked by her. I am going to have an easy day, just a bit of washing and ironing. Good Luck for your husband scentia. Wishing you all a pleasant day and good health.

Good morning from a wet Black country.
Lovely day was had yesterday with the boys although a 2 and 5 year old's can make you very tired glad DH has more energy than me.
Meeting our friends in Redditch tonight we have been friends now for over 50 years and try to see each other every week, hoping we may see their new grandson who was born last August.
Will read everyone's happenings after breakfast its Saturday so it's the full English.
Enjoy your day and may you all find some ?.

Good morning from the Peak District where it is raining. We have had lovely weather for the last couple of days though and got out and about.

Sorry to hear about your DGD Jax I hope she is in less pain now.

Esspee Sat 03-Jul-21 08:25:27

Good morning all. Just woken after another poor night’s sleep due to the heat despite every upstairs window being open.

I was talked out of watering the grass yesterday as rain was forecast but it didn’t arrive though there were some dark clouds in the east. The patio temp reached 31C.

We had a couple of spots overnight but the soil is still parched so I’m going to have to water it today. Currently bright with a high overcast and no sign of a rain cloud. Horribly oppressive.

I’m off to the market shortly, hoping to buy lots of lovely raspberries (not keen on strawberries). We are more than self sufficient in mangetout at the moment. At least neighbours appreciate sharing the glut. They help themselves when we are away which keeps the crop going.

Have a lovely day everyone..

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s been raining in South Yorkshire and we are expecting more. GS is playing in a football tournament today and then he is coming here later to stay over as his parents are having an evening out. He has not stayed here for some time so I’m quite excited. Silly isn’t it? Thank you for all the anniversary good wishes yesterday - we had a lovely day and a lovely dinner to round it off. Hope your GD will be okay, Jax; that must have been traumatic. Fingers crossed for her.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from a rainy Peak District.
Jax how awful for poor Imogen, I do hope today’s assessment brings good news and that she is not in too much pain.
We had a good journey up with a service station pit stop and Calke Abbey, National Trust which I highly recommend. Spent a couple of hours there with a short walk, tea and cake and a wander round the gardens, you could easily spend a whole day there.
Arrived at our beautiful holiday cottage with time to make the most of evening sunshine in the garden with a glass of chilled wine, perfect.
Up early and had a local explore and dog walk. Will decide what we want to do this morning before the storm which is forecast for later and then the football tonight.
Wishing all a good weekend

Good morning all from cloudy ☁️ Harrogate
What a nasty thing to happen to you DGD. Jax Hope she recovers soon. Today I am expecting a nothingness day. Might go into town to see if I can find relief for hay fever which I am plagued with at the moment. Haven’t had it for years, but this year it’s been awful!

It’s going to be a wet day here, so I’d better get my webbed feet on!

Have the best day you can folks

Good morning Mick and all from a less than sunny SWHerts. Hoping for an improved update this afternoon on Jaxjacky's granddaughter, what a worry for you all.

Hoping also the rain will hold off long enough for DH to cut the grass, we have our cat sitters arriving this afternoon, and as the man is a landscape gardener, DH is desperate to make a good impression, isn't male pride a funny thing?! ? One of our friends is receiving a special award for service at the Cathedral today, just hope we can gallop back in time before the sitters get here.

Anyone know how to disguise the smell of fake tan? I put some on last night in preparation for our holiday tomorrow, and despite reviews saying little smell, I am acutely conscious of it! Do I douse myself in perfume, or will that make it worse? ??.

Wishing all those with worries a less anxious day, and may the odd random pink flamingo appear for all of you.

Lins1066 Sat 03-Jul-21 08:48:57

Good morning from a damp S Welsh coast.
I'm sorry to hear about your granddaughter Jax and I hope that she is in less pain now and will make a good recovery.
Hope all with plans have a good day.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 03-Jul-21 08:57:51

Hello from Oxfordshire. No idea what the weather is like as I’m still in bed! Rain is forecast. We are looking forward to my son, his partner and my granddaughter coming later on. Oh, and their tiny, ancient Pomeranian dog, who terrifies my much bigger cats. We will give them a late lunch. Their flat is 2-bedroom and quite small. Granddaughter loves wandering around my house and looking in all the rooms.

GrannySomerset Sat 03-Jul-21 08:59:14

Very sticky here so couldn’t sleep and am distinctly lacklustre this morning, but no plans so it won’t matter too much. No sign of the promised rain and will be very put out if I have to water later while other areas are awash.

So sorry to read of Jax’s and GrannyActivist’s GDs and hope there is better news today. Worry is the price we pay for love, and somehow it’s even worse at a distance. Hope MrMarydoll is released under caution after having the error of his ways kindly pointed out and that Gwen’s hayfever is treatable - certainly really bad this year and very tiresome.

ginny Sat 03-Jul-21 09:09:38

Good morning.
We have a Misty, damp morning here in Brixham.
Not to worry, it is our 45 wedding anniversary and our friends 50th so we are out for a celebration meal this evening. DH and I will spend the day on our own and meet our friends later. Not sure where will will go yet.
Hope everyone has a trouble free day with some smiles along the way.

Nannytopsy Sat 03-Jul-21 09:10:17

Good morning Mick and all his followers. There was heavy rain in Suffolk this morning and there is plenty more in the forecast. I don’t think we shall be gardening.
We did both school runs yesterday then the DGC stayed over. DH has taken them down for breakfast, so that I could have an extra hour. I was so tired yesterday evening.
This has been a great spring for baby birds here. All our garden visitors have brought their babies to visit - today it’s the greenfinches.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 03-Jul-21 09:12:21

Morning Mick and all

It’s grey and muggy here in my little corner of S E Essex. A lazy day is on the agenda!!

Sorry to learn of your GD’s accident Jax hope she managed to get some sleep, and is not in too much discomfort ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

NannyJan53 Sat 03-Jul-21 09:14:53

Good morning from a very damp Black Country, after a lovely sunny day yesterday.

My friend and I drove over to Waseley Hills Country Park. Although it is only a few miles away, we had never been before. So after a walk to the source of the river Rea, we sat outside on the picnic tables eating lunch from the cafe. Then back to her house to sit in the garden. 5 hours chatting!

Then a BBQ last night, where we sat outside until almost 10pm. First time it has been warm enough to do that this year.

Driving over to DS in Lichfield this afternoon to be with DGD's as they are going to a wedding. Eldest DGD is working in a pub waitressing, so it is just the youngest who is almost 12(going on 21 grin )

What a worry for you all Jaxjacky, I hope your DGD recovers quickly and isn't in too much pain.

Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Sat 03-Jul-21 09:19:37

Good morning all. Like many of you,it's very muggy here with grey clouds. I think rain will follow at some point.
My thoughts go to JaxJacky and Grannyactivist in particular, for their gds. Lots of plans, days out and holidays on here today.
Yesterday we had a lovely afternoon tea at my uncle's golf club. Sausage rolls, sandwiches, scones with cream and jam and so many cakes! I limited myself to two. My uncle paid for it as his treat which is typical of him as he's a very kind person. Mum enjoyed herself too and behaved which doesn't always happen! ?
Today I will do some housework and wash sheets and the duvet cover. They will have to go in the tumble dryer I think. Then an ironing. It doesn't seem so onerous now I'm retired. In addition, having moved to a smaller house has made such a difference.
I will be watching Film 4 as they are running back to back Star Trek films and I'm a big fan. Dd, Sil and dgs had been going to a beach but the forecast isn't great so I'm not sure what they will do. I will gently potter. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Sat 03-Jul-21 09:21:44

The cakes for four people! And a pensive mum who was deciding if she needed more cream on her scone ?

Grandmabatty Sat 03-Jul-21 09:22:11

Happy anniversary Ginny. Have a lovely day.

Grandmajean Sat 03-Jul-21 09:30:12

Good morning from Cheshire where it is piddling down !
I hadn't seen a post about your granddaughterJaxjacky but I send best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Love to all who are having a hard time today.

Elizabeth1 Sat 03-Jul-21 09:43:08

Good morning all from a dull east coast of Fife. Fingers crossed the weather will perk up this afternoon as it has been doing these past few days. Pizza and chips for tea tonight we’re having the cousins staying over joining himself in the screaming match tonight sharing in the elixir of life or so they say. Can’t stand it myself wink

ITs been a hoot this morning having cancelled my carer as we had a weekend booked out for a party which unfortunately got cancelled shock hey ho must get on with things can’t hang about lazing in bed all morning confused
Have a good weekend everyone do things today which you’ve not done in ages wink

Grandmafrench Sat 03-Jul-21 09:50:41

Good Morning everyone. Beautiful day here in ?? And sprinklers have been on this morning. Now it’s my turn to feed everything, especially our tomatoes and pots of the dark purple petunias (the ones that have such a lovely perfume). Perhaps it’s just me but they have a habit of looking totally perfect, all dead-headed and growing like crazy…then it seems I look away for 10 minutes and they try to give up on life, hanging there lifeless or just in a sulk. Another 10 minutes and they look perfect again! Of course it’s the heat - I sometimes know exactly how they feel.

Once that’s done we shall have a pool day and lunch in the garden. No point in being retired if one works every day so I no longer make excuses. Life now must involve doing what we want - at least some of the time!

What a nasty accident for your GD with the pretty name, Jax. Every good wish that she has the best treatment and an uncomplicated recovery. Fingers crossed that she’ll become pain free quickly and heal well. ??

Enjoy your cottage, dwmx - and don’t forget to r.e.l.a.x.

Hope you get some relief, Gwen. Think you’ll find advances have been made with hay fever treatment : lots of antihistamines are (almost) non-soporific now and you can take 1 pill which will give relief for 24hours. Bad hay fever in good, warm, windy weather is miserable!

I recall sea fogs on the Sussex coast - sometimes involving pollution in really hot temperatures. Sea fog would roll in, then be trapped by the Downs and roll back - sometimes for days at a time. Don’t recall sea fog when I was brought up in the West Country, but maybe that’s just selective memory! Living on a ‘Small Island’ - as the hilarious travel writer Bill Bryson called the UK, rapid weather changes are an everyday thing. Never being more than 75 miles from a coast probably accounts for why nobody is sure what might happen next, weatherwise. The sea has a lot to answer for! But being in a boat, off the coast in a sudden blanket of fog is truly scary!

Lots of time being spent by some Grans, at last, with GC’s. How lovely - many months to catch up on. Life to catch up on, really. I wish you all a good weekend and moments of real happiness. For those worried or unwell - may times get easier soon. For those travelling, safe journey. Let’s be sure to enjoy today if we can….we’ll worry about tomorrow when it shows up! ?

Big hugs from the South of France and from me ?‍♀️????

Auntieflo Sat 03-Jul-21 09:55:26

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. At the moment it is dry, but rain forecast for later.
We must go into town to collect my new reading specs. They say they sent me a voice mail, but I must have deleted it as I didn't know how to retrieve it ?. Must ask DD for a lesson tomorrow when they pop in.
Last night I had a phone call from our lovely Dr. Nothing to worry about said he, phew, just that your potassium levels are a bit low. So I now have to cut in half my Furosemide tablet, then in a week, another blood test. Will I have any left to give?
So sorry to hear about your GD accident Jaxjacky, sending her all best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Also to Grannyactivist's GD, but I haven't read about her.

Marydoll, the adventures continue. Is MrDoll, still walking around ? I do hope the glue comes off your splash back.
Happy Anniversary Ginny, enjoy your day.
DD and SIL will tell us all their holiday news tomorrow, so must buy some tasty tit bits for the afternoon, while we are out later.
Have a good day one and all.

LauraNorder Sat 03-Jul-21 10:04:29

Good morning Mick and all from dull, grey, Anglesey. Looks as though we’ve had a little rain overnight.
Happy 45th wedding anniversary Ginny, good going.
Poor Imogen Jax, what a horrid accident. I remember a photo you posted of her in some sort of arbour, lovely long hair. Hope she’s feeling better today as the healing begins.
Hoping too for good news from NZ for grannyactivist. Such a worry.
Talking of sea mist. We used to have an annual rounders match between two villages, held on the beach. One year such a thick mist rolled in we couldn’t see from one base to another and were guiding each other in with lots of echoing shoutiness and laughter.
Willing EV to suddenly post and prove you wrong Marydoll. Glad your consultant proved to be excellent, confidence in our medical professionals is vital when things are not good.
Lovely hearing about everyone’s travels and mini breaks, days out and adventures. Even if the latter is just to the bottom of the garden.
Wishing you all a better day than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow ?
