Good Morning everyone. Beautiful day here in ?? And sprinklers have been on this morning. Now it’s my turn to feed everything, especially our tomatoes and pots of the dark purple petunias (the ones that have such a lovely perfume). Perhaps it’s just me but they have a habit of looking totally perfect, all dead-headed and growing like crazy…then it seems I look away for 10 minutes and they try to give up on life, hanging there lifeless or just in a sulk. Another 10 minutes and they look perfect again! Of course it’s the heat - I sometimes know exactly how they feel.
Once that’s done we shall have a pool day and lunch in the garden. No point in being retired if one works every day so I no longer make excuses. Life now must involve doing what we want - at least some of the time!
What a nasty accident for your GD with the pretty name, Jax. Every good wish that she has the best treatment and an uncomplicated recovery. Fingers crossed that she’ll become pain free quickly and heal well. ??
Enjoy your cottage, dwmx - and don’t forget to r.e.l.a.x.
Hope you get some relief, Gwen. Think you’ll find advances have been made with hay fever treatment : lots of antihistamines are (almost) non-soporific now and you can take 1 pill which will give relief for 24hours. Bad hay fever in good, warm, windy weather is miserable!
I recall sea fogs on the Sussex coast - sometimes involving pollution in really hot temperatures. Sea fog would roll in, then be trapped by the Downs and roll back - sometimes for days at a time. Don’t recall sea fog when I was brought up in the West Country, but maybe that’s just selective memory! Living on a ‘Small Island’ - as the hilarious travel writer Bill Bryson called the UK, rapid weather changes are an everyday thing. Never being more than 75 miles from a coast probably accounts for why nobody is sure what might happen next, weatherwise. The sea has a lot to answer for! But being in a boat, off the coast in a sudden blanket of fog is truly scary!
Lots of time being spent by some Grans, at last, with GC’s. How lovely - many months to catch up on. Life to catch up on, really. I wish you all a good weekend and moments of real happiness. For those worried or unwell - may times get easier soon. For those travelling, safe journey. Let’s be sure to enjoy today if we can….we’ll worry about tomorrow when it shows up! ?
Big hugs from the South of France and from me ?♀️????
