Jaxjacky, I hope your lovely grand-daughter soon recovers after her nasty mishap.

Happy Anniversary to Mr & Mrs ginny, I think that's a Sapphire one isn't it? Enjoy your celebration meal out with your "Golden" friends!

My hopes for a speedy recovery also go to muse.
Oooh, Marydoll. You too live with Mr Perfect/Mr Mañana? Men and glue (particularly superglue or no more nails)…there should be a law against it! A topic for a new thread, perhaps?
???
Having had every aspect of the Euros explained to me umpteen times ? ? ?, I’ve rewarded myself with some online retail therapy. No doubt I’ll be engaged in further discussion today! Will I be keeping the delivery man busy after tonight, though? ? ?

Good morning all from a rainy Lancashire. I may not get a walk today, I love walking in the rain but it can be slippy underfoot. I’ll have to walk around the house a lot instead. I’m running late this morning! Marydoll good to see you had a positive chat with your new consultant. Jaxjacky and Grannyactivist I hope there is good news for your families today. Grandmabatty that tea looks scrumptious!

Wishing everyone a peaceful day ?

Nanagarra, No More Nails was the culprit!
Just got an appointment letter in for my hand injection. It's October, and I first asked in January! Not much longer to wait then! ?
Raining here now. Washing back in....sigh.

Happy Anniversary ginny

Happy wedding anniversary ginny.
Food looks delish, Grandmabatty. More cream on your scone, GrandmabattySnr? I wouldn’t have spent time pondering this! A case of see it, like it, eat it (or buy it while the footy’s on)!

Not what you would call a good morning from Porthtowan. The weather can't seem to make up its mind, chilly, cloudy so possibly we are in for showers or a longer period of rain.

Ah, that culprit no more nails. It’s predecessor, superglue, was once involved when FiL attached himself to the loo seat. Even that didn’t ‘learn’ him!

Good Morning Mick and All from a grey Carlisle where it keeps trying to rain. I hope it holds off till I've mowed my lawn.
I've been out and bought a new TV. I have debated whether I do actually want/need one as I have existed for months without one..I can watch via catch up on my PC monitor and have found more interesting stuff on the radio and BBC Sounds as well as reading more books and listening to my CDs. However, now I've ordered one but I do hope I will not go back to my old habit of switching on after dinner and watching till bedtime.
Now I've made the decision, I'm relieved to be able to stop bashing my brains over all the varying technicalities and offerings of modern tvs. Gone are the days when you just bought one and plugged it in!
I hope you all have as good a weekend as possible.

Aldom Sat 03-Jul-21 12:42:49

Nannagarra I hope for the sake of his dignity that your FIL was attached to the loo seat by his hand. grin

Nannagarra Sat 03-Jul-21 17:26:53

It was by his hand, Aldom. grin
I was so busy laughing at the memory that I missed the punctuation error, dear pedants!

Good Morning everyone and to everyone in the UK who was shouting for The Team last night, well done and good luck. Onwards and ever upwards (and a special thank you for helping to extend Nannagarra’s opportunities for even more online ? shopping! Make it count Ng, it’ll be a while before you get such a god chance again, I expect.?

Lovely afternoon tea, GrandmaB - and think you may have found the perfect way to sedate angry flare-ups in your Mum? Worth a try. Just watch how many times you lift a scone to your lips with that painful wrist.?

Morning Laura and the lovely Daisy. In our last house it was not unknown for a cow to breathe on one of our windows!

daisend1 what a fabulous place you live in…..even if it rains sometimes. Simply beautiful.

Had an easy day yesterday but since it was so hot, I did a couple of things I’d been putting off. I painted (indoors where it was cool and not 31 degrees at supper time) a little drawer unit. Today I shall seal the chalk paint against cat activity! I thoroughly enjoyed - for the first time ever- defrosting the chest freezer in the garage because it was very fast and I enjoyed the change in temperature!

Too much pool splashing, eating outdoors, inhaling the perfume of the flowers, watching the birds etc., etc., can have the effect (sometimes) of making one a bit less sharp and aware. So…..taking life rather too much for granted, I didn’t bother to check the forecast before going to bed.

At 7.30 this morning and possibly because we hadn’t heard the consistent gentle rain outside, a thunderclap was wheeled out to announce the arrival of a torrential downpour. I lay in bed making a mental list of my errors : a ‘dog throw’ on the line, dry when I passed it last night in locking the garage; a garden filled with large cushions, 2 snoozing cats who had refused to move when I invited them to come in to bed. I suppose the cover was on the trailer and all car windows closed, so we haven’t completely lost the plot, and everything will dry again with the promise of sunshine until a week on Wednesday, That will be the one dodgy day I will forget again, no doubt, and the process will be repeated! Plus side? Cats moved to shelter, no harm done, no garden watering today and I can catch up with some housework before a busy week : hairdresser tomorrow, Rheumatologist on Tuesday, demand for my appearance to collect my residence card on Thursday. I already have a card to allow me a further 10 years in France but because of B****t, we had to apply for yet another. Fingerprints too! Just in case I’ve changed my fingerprints since last year, I assume. Oh well, c’est la Guerre!

Hope you all have a good day and that this will herald a good week to come. Hope and good wishes sent to those in need - including GC’s in trouble and family members causing worry.
If you’re off on a trip, good for you. Safe journeys and good weather. If you’re not don’t forget you all deserve treats, so organise those where you can - quite a lot of catching up involved after our lengthy incarceration, remember?

Hugs from me and from France to all ??
