Have you a memory that makes you happy to recall? One that says in my mind happened when we were on holiday with three children aged 12, 10 and 3. We had a lovely day and I felt we had sent quite enough for one day ! We were heading back to our cottage when our youngest demanded a colourful / silver hellium balloon being sold by a street seller. We were all tired and the little one was playing up - as they do at that age ! I made it clear she had had quite sufficient that day. Unbeknown to me a young man must have heard me. I was aware of someone walking behind us , he passed in front , bobbed down in front of our youngest and presented her with a balloon and the words " it's your lucky day" he then just walked away before we could thank him.
of course our child was delighted. This gesture did not make me feel I had been undermined it made me smile . The balloon was a parrot shape and gave my daughter much pleasure because as it slowly deflated it moved around the room , was in a different place each morning! Daughter now has her own children , she has never forgotten the balloon she named Parrotini. given by a stranger that' flew' round the room during the night! Happy days.
