Sounds like a great birthday bash soop. I have been away from the thread a few days ...thought I'd post this picture of the lovely view from our little holiday cottage we are renting ...and the sun is shining after torrential rain when we drove here yesterday! Fish and chips on the beach, here we come, ...sorry to miss the lap dancing lessons!!
The day gets better and better. I am thoroughly enjoying every moment. You lot have the amazing gift of making the occasion super special. All your messages have made me smile from the inside out.

Thank you for some beautiful birthday cards. I am truly lucky to know you lovely lot.
Now, I wish to welcome all those of you attending the joint birthday bash that Grandmafrench and I have organised.
The buffet is all calorie-free but delicious with it.
The bar is manned by a team of gorgeous young men who will mix the most exotic of cocktails (and brew an excellent cup of tea) to satisfy the tastes of all our guests.
The juke-box is free. Every favourite tune will be selected at the press of a button. There is also a wee stage for any gran who feels inclined to belt out sing a meaningful tune.
Doodle will be giving lap-dancing and pole-dancing lessons. I suggest that you book a slot. Her talents know no bounds. 
There is a small dance floor for those refined Kitcheners to waltz around. That shouldn't be too busy...
I would like to think that any Argy visitors will be treated with the respect that they deserve.
The kindly local bobby may pop in mid evening. He has a note book and will be only too happy to report any naughty goings-on. Be warned. He will only take so much cheeky banter in good faith. There may come a point when he will make a few arrests. The punishment he deals out isn't too awful. A night in the cellar with some light entertainment hasn't done me too much damage.
My phone keeps ringing. Family near and afar are catching up with our shenanigans. I understand that there may be a family get together in early autumn. That will be worth discussing when son number one calls.
If I'm unable to be present at tonight's knees-up, I shall be with you all in spirit. Enjoy yourselves and thank you one and all for being special. and limitless smiles.
I’ve got out of the habit of popping into the kitchen but had a peek round the door just now and couldn’t leave without leaving 80th birthday wishes and some flowers for dear Soop! Hope you’re truly celebrated in style by all those who love you xx
