Excellent news about Toby soop a weight lifted. It’s bern another baking day here, 31c, MrJ has, I think, enjoyed his birthday today. He’s had the day off, we popped to the local to have a few drinks with friends earlier, home by 7:30. I’d had a chicken in the slo cooker, potatoes parboiled, so into a hot oven, with some veg simmering away, he’s full up tum.
Watered the garden and greenhouse, I need to weed again, it can wait until Friday when it’s cooled down a bit. I’ll leave you with a couple of flower pictures and a hope that panache found some solace today. Sleep as well as you can kitcheners x.

soop, so glad that Toby's going home and that your water problems have been resolved. Your painting woes will sort themselves out I'm sure, when you've got better photos to work from----and as for having to paint a ginger cat portrait in memory of poor Toffee, you're a master at that as I know from your lovely pictures of Baker when he was so ill.

Hoping everyone is managing to keep cool and get some sleep in this scorching weather.

Such good news that Toby is home and doing so well, what a brave little boy. Also thank goodness your water supply is sorted soop and there’s no problem with it, I bet you’re relieved
Well it’s been another scorcher here in Inverness today, clear blue sky and wall to wall sunshine for most of the day. We enjoyed looking after the DGC this morning and trying to keep them out of the sun and cool, then later this afternoon DH and I went to a local hotel and sat relaxing in the garden enjoying a cool drink. There was a piper playing in the background too and I really enjoyed it there
I’ve just had a video call with DS who lives in Switzerland, it’s lovely to see him and he seemed quite upbeat and cheerful. I’ve not been able to see him face to face since the end of 2019 so missing him loads but the video calls really help. As long as he’s happy though so am I
Hope everyone in the kitchen has an enjoyable evening and thinking especially of Panache ?

Soop, I`m waiting until you are under less pressure before sending Billy`s photo for his portrait.

Good news about the water supply and wonderful to know Toby’s home soop

chicken The water supply problem has been resolved. Our neighbour has been a star and not only repaired the leaking tank but thoroughly cleaned it and has pumped the fresh water into the holding tank. It is now flowing underground a very long distance from it's source. It's marvellous to turn on the tap and ...hey presto...

Toby went home last night. One day earlier than the consultant forecast. He appears to be full of the joys of babyhood once again.

The painting has not worked. That is eight rejects. I am going to visit the home of our friend when she's out of hospital. I need to take my own photos from which to work.

In the meantime, a lady in the village had to have her cat, Toffee, put to sleep yesterday afternoon. Toffee had been hit by a car. So, deep breath, I am preparing to paint a ginger cat's portrait in the meantime. I must be a devil for punishment. hmm

Thinking of Panache and Susan especially today.

Until tomorrow, virtual hugs for all of you. smile moon

Panache, I do hope that all went well today and that you can relax at last.

Susan, all best wishes for a good resolution of your problems with your FiL's care.

soop, have your problems with the water supply been sorted out yet? What a time to be short of water if your temperatures are anything like down here in the south ---and how is the elusive cat portrait muse?

My frugal soul is delighting in the fact that I'll be able to make a complete home grown meal tonight, all from my little veg garden. Not bad for an ancient old bird like me!

soop Tue 20-Jul-21 14:21:54

anno wink winkGo for it!

annodomini Tue 20-Jul-21 14:15:03

muse, what a lovely treat. I'd love a helicopter trip. It reminds me of the flying lesson my family gave me, ostensibly for my 80th, but a few years early! Just as well, as my 80th coincided with the beginning of a lockdown last November. I might start dropping subtle hints about helicopter flights grin. You've given me the idea!
Susan, sat to hear of your FiL's plight. I hope you can get it all sorted out for him sooner rather than later.
Panache, thinking of you.flowers

Panache I hope things go as well as they can tomorrow, you will be in my thoughts.

I'm sorry to hear that you are so down Susan, I've been thinking about your family's predicament. I do hope things improve very soon, it is not an easy time for you.

Wonderful photos muse and such perfect weather and visibility, is that St Ives in the middle photo? We had a lovely holiday there when our two were young children. I remember the Lifeboat was kept on the seafront as it was too big to go in the Lifeboat Station. Best wishes are sent to your daughter.
