So do I

brook2704 Thu 08-Jul-21 21:38:27

A very warm welcome Lindy56 I hope you enjoy the kitchen and the cakes here are always calorie free so no need to worry about spoiling the healthy eating plan. Well done though with losing the pounds, it’s not easy at all
Congrats to England last night, DH was very chirpy all day. I’ve been out with a friend for coffee and a long chatty catch up. Then a big supermarket shop as we’re away in a self catering property next week with DD2, SiL and DGC so lots of food needed - and the wine too ???
You’ve definitely put me to shame annsixty a domestic goddess indeed
Sorry to hear about your UTI soop and hope you’re feeling much better soon ?
Gorgeous picture of baby Hudson hellogirl what a beautiful baby he is
Phew - good job your bank got it sorted for you Galen and I hope you have a better day tomorrow!

Jaxjacky Thu 08-Jul-21 21:32:17

Welcome Lindy56 to the bestest kitchen ?

muse Thu 08-Jul-21 21:29:18

Hello Lindy56. We'll help you and hubby eat the cake?

In need of a quiet evening too Jax. I'm getting quicker on my feet now but a fast hobble is tiring. With the last few days you have had tiredness was bound to kick in. Sleep well again.

That's frighting Galen. Hopefully the bank know how it was hacked.

I bet all the suits will be snapped up Blossoming. Do you miss wearing them? I'm pretty sure I couldn't get into any of mine now - not that I would want to.

Great photos dustyangel. Great name - Spock. Is the black vacuum cleaner by any chance a lab? It reminds me of my DD's dog.?

Hello little Hudson. You're gorgeous.

I do love verbascums soop. Must grow some next year.

Decided to go to Pilates tonight and drove there. Thank goodness for automatics. It has done wonders for my calf injury. We used bands for hamstring stretches. Will do more at home everyday now. I feel I have turned a corner.

MrM and friend had brilliant late afternoon sail yesterday and I ordered food for us on their return. We had a takeaway from the nearby village pub . We've eaten inside a few times before covid. Total disaster. We got the food eventually but it must have been put on a hot plate for at least 30 mins and MrM's ribs went in the bin. Written a complaint this morning but heard nothing. Yet!

Friend is returning in two weeks so Mya and myself will be on the boat this time.

More tennis for me tomorrow. I'm doing catch up tonight. Thank goodness for iPlayer where you can choose the match.

Are you legal now Grandmafrench or do the battling grans need to have a plan of action to sort out those officials?

Galen Thu 08-Jul-21 21:22:31

The biscuit cake in the photo looks delicious. Her Maj’s version is covered with chocolate scrolls in white and dark chocolate. Mine if it works out will not be as fancy

Blossoming Thu 08-Jul-21 20:49:37

Hello and welcome Lindy56. I think a few of us need to shed the lockdown pounds but we’re vey fond of cake grin

Lindy56 Thu 08-Jul-21 20:38:28

OK I will bake a cake use to do lots of cooking but since retired don't seem to have the same inclination. Doesn't help being on a healthy diet with hubby. Since lockdown ?we have both put on the pounds☹️. So decided to lose weight and we have successfully lost it. More exercise and less calories its been hard but we both feel better. But still enjoy cakes occasionally ?

Nannytopsy Thu 08-Jul-21 20:27:21

That sounds yummy Galen . Will there be tasters? Welcome Lindy. You will find that cake bringers are always welcome here!

Bellanonna Thu 08-Jul-21 20:23:41

soop I’m so sorry about your UTI. My husband suffered from frequent UTIs and was given a very reduced daily dose of Nitrofurantoin. It helped for a while until the GP decided to take him off it. I wonder f that would be a possibility? At least it would give you a break.

Galen Thu 08-Jul-21 19:49:29

Someone knows something I don’t. I’ve just been offered life insurance for the elderly!
Ps the bank did reimburse me. It wasn’t very much anyway but they say it was fraudulent.
I’m going to try to make the Queens favourite chocolate biscuit cake tomorrow.
We’ll see how it goes!

cornergran Thu 08-Jul-21 19:40:33

Hello Lindy, everyone welcome here.

Oh blimey Galen, buggerations galore you surely don’t need. Hope the bank is on your side and today has been less stressful.

Hope you’ve been resting soop, I’m sorry you’re struggling with another UTI, foul things.

Can we come to tea please Ann? Mr C is disappointed at the limited menu choice here.

That’s a photo to raise a smile hellogirl, he’s super.

Lindy56 Thu 08-Jul-21 19:31:06

New to GN not been to Soop Kitchen before. Cute pic Hello girl. Sympathy for UTI Soop. Watching Wimbledon tonight footie last night it's so energetic I am exhausted.

Jaxjacky Thu 08-Jul-21 19:28:03

soop how debilitating and depressing, big fingers crossed for an improvement in all areas ??. Grandmafrench we have friends rushing around for Carte de Séjour renewal/extension, I think that’s the right one.
Galen a litany of upsets, how very irritating, hopefully today improved. A very yummy baby Hello aren’t babies just so gorgeous, none looming on our family horizons, well, I hope not to hear my son is having one with his GF just yet.
Felt my age today, home at 1045pm from football last night, had 4 small white wines and a pint of squash watching football in our local, utterly knackered this morning. Even four years ago I was partying, it must accrue and catch up.
Imogen was, just Imogen this afternoon, it’s me who’s a bit tippy toe and I must stop, she’s off to get her burn re dressed tomorrow, back to school Monday.
A quiet evening here, MrJ is cooking his signature dish, sausages, beans and mash, mm mmm. I’ll leave you all in the hope of a gentle evening too.
Still thinking of Panache x

Blossoming Thu 08-Jul-21 19:13:53

Oh my fuzzy brain, forgot to say I hope you enjoyed your afternoon with Imogen JaxJacky,

Grandmabatty Thu 08-Jul-21 19:10:05

That's rotten Galen. Your bank should reimburse you though.

Blossoming Thu 08-Jul-21 19:09:43

What a lovely baby hellogirl. Hope tomorrow is a better one Galen.

I slept like a log last night, either from fresh air, exercise or a surfeit of chocolate! I have been bagging up some more clothes for the charity shop. I think this will be the last load. It’s been a marathon job going through all the cupboards. I got rid of business suits some time ago but hadn’t realised how many ‘smart’ dresses I had to wear to corporate events. I have no use for them now, so hope another woman can get good wear out of them, they’ve only been worn once or twice in some cases. It’s been very hot here, it makes me feel tired.

Wishing all kitcheners a restful evening [flower]

Nannytopsy Thu 08-Jul-21 18:38:20

Oh soop poor you! Healing vibes winging your way.
This is the verge opposite our house - always something in flower.
Hope everyone has a good evening.

Hellogirl1 Thu 08-Jul-21 18:35:09

I hope today has been better Galen?

Galen Thu 08-Jul-21 18:35:05

On thinking about it! They’re probably right!

Galen Thu 08-Jul-21 18:30:06

Bad day yesterday. First my bank account was hacked, then my arthritis flared up then Ocado said they couldn’t deliver as booked as my order had run into a computer glitch!
The last straw:- an email telling me I need a funeral plan!!!?

Grandmabatty Thu 08-Jul-21 18:01:21

Soop sorry about the UTI. Get better soon. Hellogirl what a gorgeous wee boy. I confess to being very lazy today. It'll catch up with me as I now have lots to do tomorrow morning.

dustyangel Thu 08-Jul-21 17:42:22

He’s gorgeous Hellogirl.

Hellogirl1 Thu 08-Jul-21 17:37:44

Meant to add the latest pic of little Hudson, aged 7 weeks now

Hellogirl1 Thu 08-Jul-21 17:36:31

So sorry you have yet another UTI Soop, they`re horrible, make youb feel absolutely YUCK. I hope you`re feeling getter by tomorrow.

Fennel Thu 08-Jul-21 17:36:19

Poor you Soop with the UTI.
I don't know if I've asked you this before. but have you tried using oestrogen ie vagifem to make you more resistant to UTIs?
Grandma french - getting a new residence permit was one of the reasons we left France. I'm still in touch with my english friend there and I know they're not bothering. They've lived there since 1990. And worked legally for a few years So have health cover. I mentioned it once but she said "We'll be ok - they won't send us home." but who knows?
