Blossoming Wed 07-Jul-21 20:01:03

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. Hellogirl Mr. B says I’m worth it ❤️ Of course I will share the chocs with my fellow kitcheners, I’ll put them on the dresser as soon as I’ve removed the violet creams grin as it’s my birthday I think it’s only fair I get first pick.

Jaxjacky so glad things are looking so much brighter, enjoy your evening out and your afternoon with Imogen tomorrow.

Virtual hugs to all you lovely people and special hugs for those that need them. I hope I haven’t missed anybody but I’m so tired now, this is the furthest I’ve been since November 2019. It’s been such a beautiful day.

Happy Birthday Blossoming hope you had a lovely day??

annsixty Wed 07-Jul-21 20:41:26

So pleased that things look better for Imogen, we all know people who have done well after a diagnosis, my god daughter being one. She had her first grand mal at about age 10.
She is now a very senior nurse with a D at uni and has a lovely successful life.
My GD and I are watching the football and cringing at the moment, no, England have just scored, hooray.
Hope all are having as good an evening as we are.
A Sainsbury’s pizza and a bottle of white to see us through.

annsixty Wed 07-Jul-21 20:43:48

Happy birthday Blossoming we all need chocolate and I am not advertising but my birthday is next Monday ??

brook2704 Wed 07-Jul-21 21:07:04

A very happy birthday blossoming I hope you’re having a super day and thank you for the yummy chocolates ???
I’ve had another busy day so not had time yet to catch up on all the lovely posts and kitchen news.
Wow those DGC really wear me out! They ended up staying over last night so it’s been full on for a couple of days. Loving it though - well almost all the time but there was a bit of a tantrum this morning (not me ?) and bickering when DGS deliberately turned on the bathroom tap too much so it splashed water all over his sister then she threw a wet sponge at him that got him right in the middle of his chest .. didn’t go down too well as you can imagine. Anyway we all calmed down eventually. DH took DGS to his footy game and I took DGD on the bus into town. She was so excited as it was a double decker and we sat upstairs at the very front - she’s so easily pleased bless!
They’re back home now and their dad is off work tomorrow so DH and I get a day off looking after them and a much needed rest!.
Will catch up on the posts later, DH is sitting on the edge of his seat watching the football - I hope England win!
Take care all

Jax so glad that things are improving a bit for Imogen

Blossoming That chocolate shop looks gorgeous online ...I am VERY tempted and have saved if for future reference

We are just back from a wonderful meal out in the only pub with a Michelin Star in London, amazing food, remarkable value for what we had and SUCH a lovely treat!

Grandmabatty Wed 07-Jul-21 21:16:15

Happy birthday Blossoming. I hope you have had a lovely day. I visited mum this morning and it was a difficult visit as she was in a moaning mood and goady. Then the WhatsApp chat this afternoon didn't happen so a bit of a disappointing day. It ended well though as the garden man turned up late afternoon and has nearly finished the hedges. Tomorrow I have to pop to Tesco to buy baking supplies etc. I've invited my friend and her partner for afternoon tea on Friday so the baking will have to happen tomorrow. Night night kitcheners.

Hellogirl1 Wed 07-Jul-21 22:00:54

I`m glad you`ve enjoyed your birthday Blossoming, and thank you for the chocolates.
Pleased to hear that things are going a little better for Imogen, hopefully time will help.
Soop, it could be right what has been suggested, Fern might have had kittens. If she has, I hope they`re OK, seeing as she will have hidden them away.
I love the puppy from Romania. When I was looking for another cat, I fell in love with one online, it had had a leg amputated after a road accident. I`d just decided to have it, when I read more thoroughly and found that it was in Thailand! I had to give up on the idea, no way could I have afforded to have it sent from Thailand, pity.

annsixty Wed 07-Jul-21 22:24:17

My friend son has adopted a puppy from Rumania.
It is an absolute nightmare.
They have had it for several months now, it howls when they leave it, it destroys everything, they love it to bits and are determined to stay the course but oh how hard it is.
They really wish they had never done it but on the other hand glad they did take it as they will stick it out as many wouldn’t.
They can only advise caution to anyone else thinking of it.

annsixty Wed 07-Jul-21 22:38:27

They have done it!!
Can’t wait for Sunday.

gillgran Wed 07-Jul-21 22:56:39

annsixty me too..!!

gillgran Wed 07-Jul-21 23:02:04

Very late Birthday wishes Blossoming, hope you've had a great day & enjoyed those special chocolates.

Jaxjacky, you are right, the not knowing is an awful time.
I'm thinking of you & your family.

Take Care, lovely people, flowers

Grandmafrench Wed 07-Jul-21 23:30:09

Very late Birthday wishes from me too, Blossoming. Hope you are tucked up and fast asleep now after a lovely day.

Good to hear you're having better times, Ann. Even non-footy fans like me managed to get really excited at the prospect of a country coming together with such happiness this evening.

Hello, GrandmaB - but did you take food? You might have the secret now to ward off moans and goads, you never know!
Glad to hear the hedge man turned up again. Aren't workmen the worst these days - we all have to guess when they might grace us with their presence or, actually finish a job.?

Hope you've had a good day, gillgran and hellogirl madgran and a clearly exhausted brook.

Would be lovely if you were able to catch Fern, soop. You know, putting her food in a big cage with a trap door that springs closed when she goes in to eat. Lots of rescue associations will loan these out. I used one to trap two totally wild and aggressive, feral cats. A trip to the Vets might then put your mind at rest, since you're bound to worry. As others have suggested, it could just be that she's had kittens. Whatever the problem is I don't think she can be eating elsewhere, with her weight dropping and the way in which she gorges when she does turn up - as if it's got to last her a while! Sweetie-Pie Fern, Lady of the Forest, Lady of Mystery ?‍⬛

Glad you feel better, Jax. Don't forget that knowledge is power and there are so many people who can give you good stories and outcomes about their diagnoses. I would think that must help.
Sleep well tonight. Sleep well all.

I'm up at the crack of dawn to drive to Montpellier for a fingerprinting appointment at the Préfecture, where they may finally give me my latest permit to reside in France. What a carry on. We had no idea how many problems Brexit would cause us.

Stay safe, nighty night. ????☽

Grandmabatty Thu 08-Jul-21 08:21:45

Grandmafrench spot on! I didn't take any food. I shall remember that for next Wednesday and take a big slab of toffee so it clamps her mouth. ?. The sad thing is, mum was witty and had a wonderful sense of humour. She was wonderful when the children were younger and they have such fond memories of her being daft with them. When dad died ten years ago, she gave up and has never been the same. Add my feckless brother into the mix and the whole situation is toxic. Oh well, I have learned to bite my lip and shut up as arguing gains nothing.

soop Thu 08-Jul-21 12:28:49

A fleeting visit to say hello to my favourite peeps.

Have a UTI again and feel a tad rough. Mr Soop says to forget the idea of housework. Bless! I am going to put my feet up and watch a spot of tennis instead.

soop Thu 08-Jul-21 12:30:06

Gradmabatty A special comforting hug for you, from me.

soop Thu 08-Jul-21 12:31:09

Sorry, Grandmabatty x

Charleygirl5 Thu 08-Jul-21 12:32:32

"soop* I agree with others- Fern may well have been pregnant and she could easily have worms, hence her thinness but if she has worms she would be constantly on your doorstep, ravenously hungry.
TOYA

Grandmabatty Thu 08-Jul-21 12:41:29

Soop thank you for the hug. ?

Blossoming Thu 08-Jul-21 12:45:17

Soop Ugh! UTIs are nasty things. Hope you have a restful afternoon and soon feel better x

annsixty Thu 08-Jul-21 12:45:55

Good afternoon all.
I have my domestic hat on today, it doesn’t often see the light of day.
I have beef in red wine in the slow cooker, a gammon joint in the oven and fruit all ready to make a big bowl of salad for my GD to eat with yoghurt.
She is having some work done on her teeth.
Because of her cleft palate she has had problems with her teeth and of course all the earlier work was done by the NHS in hospital, including some good porcelain veneers.
She now has to pay and she wants some cosmetic work done just for her
She has had two white fillings done today, £300 !!

The sun is hot just now but it doesn’t look as if it will last long.

Have the best day you can everyone, I must get on before my domestic hat falls off.

dragonfly46 Thu 08-Jul-21 13:24:52

Wow that sounds amazing Annsixty - gammon and beef! So pleased you are feeling happier.

So sorry to hear you have another ITU soop. I hope it goes away soon.

Well I happened to mention on Tuesday evening to DH that I had enjoyed the taster session I had on Nordic Walking. This morning I was whisked off to the sport shops to look at good walking shoes and poles! I came away with the shoes but not the poles as I am not entirely convinced I will use them. I wouldn't mind but DH has no intention of walking with me - maybe it is part of a master plan!!

Have a good day everyone.

soop Thu 08-Jul-21 16:52:03

dragonfly grin

Thank you all for kind words. My energy level is zilch. Hurts to wee. Drop bot an ongoing pain.
Nothing much happening other than to share a lovely photo of one of the many Verbascum plants that have decided to come to live in our garden.

I am wishing you lovely lot farewell for now. I trust that by tomorrow I shall be in a jollier frame of mind.

smile moon

soop Thu 08-Jul-21 16:53:07

Forgot to add the photo. hmm

dustyangel Thu 08-Jul-21 17:09:08

Oh soop I’m so sorry that you have another UTI they are such miserable things. Two or three years ago I had a spell of having them frequently but eventually hormone cream seem to clear them up ?. I think you once said that unfortunately that is not an option for you.

Your Verbascum plant is beautiful ( I shall now have to go and google it). I’m sending you a sunset photo to cheer you and also one of our sweetie pie Spock who comes and goes as he pleases like a doggy equivalent of Fern. Often with his friend our neighbour’s dog, the black vacuum cleaner.
