Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company...
Welcome. Make yourselves comfortable and let us share our celebrations and tribulations. It's what we do best.
and a multitude of virtual hugs.
Jax You have our respects. Well done!

I love you lots to bits with bells and whistles.
Pals dropped in at 4:30 for a wee blether. We have just this minute waved them off. A thoroughly good time was spent in between.
Tomorrow morning we hope to visit our pal in the care home. after which, a wee shop in at Tesco. After that, I shall drop into our kitchen for catch-up news.
Once again, a massive thank you for a wonderful, memorable birthday bash.

What a lovely generous act, JJ. Your community will benefit from your defibrillator and you will deserve their everlasting gratitude - albeit anonymously.
Our community now has defibrillators in all the redundant phone boxes and in a number of shops and pubs.
Respect soop a fitting party, for a fabulous lady, your photo does you justice.
Great picture NanaandGrampy, clever to capture them, and lovely to see you in the kitchen Susan.
Yia enjoy your chill and best of luck tomorrow.
A day of buzzing about, showers and sun, cleaning, shops and tending the greenhouse, (tying up tomatoes with string).
But, I have achieved a long, five years probably, aim. I wanted a defibrillator in ,well, outsideof, our local pub. Last year I, with others in my family, inherited significant money from my Mum, so I could afford it. I really feel both Mum and Dad would be chuffed. The local councillor is doing the PR, I’m remaining anonymous, today was a good day.
Sleep well my kitchen friends xx
ps lovely photo - you're still a bonny lass!
As I'm sure Mr soop will agree.
Welcome to the over80s club, soop. Together we'll stand and fight the problems ahead
And enjoy the benefits of our age. eg wisdom ?
With the support of our dear friends in the Kitchen.
Thank you Grandmabatty.x
I got lost changing into my Greek dancing outfit last night and missed Mr Jones?

Chilling now, early start with hospital appointments tomorrow.
Have a good evening all.
Good to hear from you Susan56
A belated happy birthday to you soop.Sounds like a good time was had by all.?????
We have been away for a few days rest and recuperation by the coast in Ceredigion.DD1 and family came with us.No wifi so am totally out of touch with everybody’s news.
Sending good wishes to all and will be back with you tomorrow when I have tackled the mountain of washing?
Grandmafrench Sir Tom Jones is perfectly safe and well and I believe Delilah is helping him cut the green green grass of home.
I had another male in my house- the boy wonder who sadly is refusing to sleep during the day. Today we played outside until the heavens opened. Nannandgrampy it looks like you had a wonderful weekend.
Evening all,
Belated Happy Birthday Soop it sounds like there was a high old time going on in the kitchen yesterday. I'm sorry I missed it all.
In honour of your birthday the Red Arrows flew low and loud over the house yesterday on their way to some event , I'll post a pic , it was amazing . I'm sure they did a little wing wiggle for you Soop.
Our weekend with pour girls was fabulous. Lots of laughter and chats with a fair amount of food and alcoholic beverages thrown in for good measure !!
So, I'll wish you all the remains of a happy day - see you tomorrow :-)
Sorry for the slightly inebriated That'sh - of course I mean 'that's' ?
And have you had a lovely peaceful day after yesterday's high jinks and celebrations? Do hope so. You clearly needed a lie in this morning to get your spark back again. That's such a lovely photograph of you, soop. One for a frame, I shouldn't wonder.
You'll have to let us know if Sweetie Pie turned up (with a present, possibly?). That would have been nice. But we must never forget she's a cat - so no respecter of persons, dates or occasions. (Unlike her main carer, Mr Soop, who must be quite shocked at the Kitchen Kapers last night. Hope his laughter is not nervous laughter....Just as well he isn't allowed to join you in the Argy then?)
Hope everyone got home safely - including poor Sir Tom, whom I suspect GrandmaBatty could be keeping in a locked room at Batty Buildings. (She just won't share!)
We have had the most exciting afternoon. We hadn't been home long when we heard lots of very loud 'sky' noise and eventually spotted blue, white and red plumes of smoke in the sky a good distance away. Then a veritable fountain of jets soaring up into the most wonderful shapes against the sky. It was the Patrouille de France - France's long-serving equivalent of the Red Arrows. Not content with sweeping across Paris the day before yesterday to celebrate France being voted as host country for the next Olympics, they have been performing the most wonderful show along the coast today, along with some other aircraft. Since I am rather afraid of 'planes (despite once working at Heathrow), I still marvel at their ability to stay in the air, let alone perform the sort of acrobatics we have seen today. I'm happiest when they are not over land and in the distance like today! They are based in Provence and so for jets which fly at the speeds they do, that's just a small skip across the country to reach here. Hope all the tourists enjoyed the spectacle.
Today sees the start of using our Covid passes. A printed sheet or our details on an App which we can flash at anyone who wants to confirm we are vaccinated. I can see this as a good thing for events involving crowds and to be allowed to eat in busy restaurants (inside), visit the theatre or cinema and even clinics and hospitals etc., Of course, should you arrive at a hospital on a stretcher, no one is going to ask questions, but if the idea keeps us safer, I'm happy to confirm to anyone that I shouldn't pose a threat (hopefully!) My Doctor told me on Friday that we should remain VERY vigilant, since there's plenty of Covid around. Vigilant shall be my middle name. ?
Off to put large amounts of plant food on our pots which DH has kindly watered. I cleverly left the hosepipe turned on last night - in a hedge. Too busy trying to get to The Kitchen on time. I'm not in any trouble but I'll just say that we could almost have used the Kayak this morning .....in the drive/on the terrace/in a flowerbed etc., I shall console myself with the fact that something dearly needed the water!!!!!
Have a super evening, super people. Trust you've all had the best day. x
Mr Soop cannot contain his laughter. He says that you lot are crazy and fabulous and he wished he'd been in the front row when you performed the Can Can. He assures me that he would have clapped loudest and longest.
When I finally stop laughing, I shall enjoy re-living last night's wonderous goings-on all over again. You lot should be on the stage and not in the cells because you are brilliant at the art of entertaining. I cannot tell you how happy you've made me. The conger was the best yet. Yes, I know that some of you cast ladylike bits and bobs to the audience...however...the newspapers have sold out thanks to a certain someone attempting to the can-can and climb a pole at the same time. Excuse me while I sob with laughter. As for poor, unsuspecting Sir Tom, he should have known not to attend the shenanigans. Surely, at his age, he would have been happier tucked up in bed with a good book and a Horlicks. Ah well! Bet he's nursing a thick head and other bits this morning.
Me...on the other hand, I kept partying until 2 o'clock this morning. I was fast asleep when the postman called. He rang the bell several times, gave up and left a heap of useless circulars on the door mat. I was miffed.
So, here I am to say thank you for being wonderful pals and good sports. Onwards and whatever. Stuff to do when I have a clear head and can concentrate.
Photo taken by Mr Soop to mark the auspicious occasion.
Good afternoon lovely Kitcheners, I hope you have all recovered from last night’s partying. I have to do a ‘count your steps’ walk this afternoon in order to set a realistic target for my ongoing rehab. Not a very long walk at the moment, given my balance problems and recent falls. And so it goes on
I expect muse will be in later to collect them…..?
Morning soop. Hope you had a wonderful birthday and enjoyed yourself.
Just been in for a quick tidy up in the kitchen and all is back in order. No trace of the Argy visitors ………..apart from a pair of tartan knickers……… I will say no more ?

We’ll Conga back over to the Argy nannytopsy!

Good night all. Thank you and sleep well soop.
I know I will tonight.
