Good Morning Everyone,
At the present moment here in Brackley its dry but cloudy , expecting rain.
Today , will see my usual trip by bus to Bicester ,and then return for the Tour De France on TV .
Yesterdays Bargain hunt as mentioned was from Brackley Antiques Cellar , looked recent as only the owners , contestants ,and others were in the building , normally its known locally if they filming in there , as the like to have a few people wondering about .
But under the circumstances , it was probably the ideal place to make a programme .
Take Care,
Mick

muse: I’m still very apprehensive about trains Ash. When I do it, my train to DH will require a change at New Street.

Please try not to worry as most journeys I take are trouble free. Generally, I’m enthusiastic about rail travel. Even when busy yesterday, staff were very mindful of hygiene procedures and masks were worn universally.

The particular issue at New St for me is that it's been extended and now has two zones: blue and red. My incoming train from Crewe arrived in blue but I was due to leave from red. You have to go through an exit barrier then re-enter the station through another, if changing zones.

Booking a seat is advised at present which I did at my local station. It might be an idea to tell the booking clerk of your concerns so they allow enough time around the change at New St. It is possible to request assistance at stations if you ask when you book.

Here’s a link to a plan of the station which might help:-

Good luck!

Jax - looking really promising so far. I’ve just requested more positive news for you and yours.
Good luck with the specialist Grandmafrench.
What a beautiful garden and amazing view Laura.

Sea holly and Wirral.

Nannagarra Tue 06-Jul-21 10:16:01

Good morning from very wet Sefton.
Yesterday the rain stopped at midday, domestic stuff was abandoned and a long cycle ride along the coastline to Liverpool occupied my afternoon. Three of the Iron Men now sport t-shirts which made me smile. (Even better was a necessary pit stop for hot choc and cake.) Nearer the city the misty view of Wirral did not deter me attempting a wave to EV. A pic of the gorgeous sea holly which lined the route might appear…
Poor Imogen, Jaxjacky. I’m thinking of you all and hoping there is some good news winging its way. Marydoll, may the ankle support give you some relief and aid in your recovery. Wow, wow, wow, hollysteers. Serious respect for such talent.
My plans today to potter in the garden look unlikely. I’m looking forward to the imminent arrival of the clothes I ordered during the England - Germany match. The parcel includes a waterproof jacket and two dresses - hedging my bets.
Thinking of those who are absent and those in need of comfort. Sending a wave and a smile from Merseyside.

What a challenge grandmafrench?. Good luck and enjoy the sun when it’s all over.

Delighted with the news Jax

Here are a few photos of Mount Grace Priory

You posted while I prodded my phone Jax. Just read it. That’s good news about the tests . ? hope the consultant knows what caused it.

Good morning Mick and morningsters.

Very groggy but the sun is out. Something disagreed with me last night so I moved over to our bedroom annex + bathroom. Wise decision.
Work continues with drainage. Phil (groundwork’s man) is determined to battle through the boggy mess that is now around the site. Can’t praise him highly enough.
My calf is loosening up so walking is getting easier. Swelling still looks the same but I will be doing more walking today. (Doctor’s instructions). Mya will be pleased. Felt for the young Emma with the tennis last night. I’m sure she will go on to great achievements.

I’m still very apprehensive about trains Ash. When I do it, my train to DH will require a change at New Street.
Excellent news about the chemotherapy Hari.
Hope your anxious wait will soon be over Jax. ??
Dwm. Keen to know the make of your boots. Mine are destined for the bin. I’m wondering if the Shopping Outlet is the one at Rowsley. That’s just down the road from my brother and a few miles from where I lived. I used to visit Caudwell’s Mill such a lot. That’s close by the Outlet. I can recommend it.

I hope my mobility progress continues as there are many weeds and much grass to sort out BUT I will behave and will draw those reigns in. MrM is watching like a hawk.
???
Big ? for Imogen.

Good morning all, sunny at the moment but clouds are approaching!
Busy day yesterday getting shopping in for , hopefully, family visiting at the weekend , then on to get my hearing aids fixed , he laughed when I exclaimed Oh I can hear ! , whatever he did they are also very comfortable too
I hope Imogen is back home today , poor love ?

LauraNorder Tue 06-Jul-21 09:47:01

Good morning from Anglesey where the sun is shining and the sky is clear and a lovely deep blue.
So sorry to hear about Imogen having a seizure JaxJacky, hope she is rested and on the mend this morning.
Good luck to Mr Harrigran, at last.
Good luck with your appointment Grandmafrench, sounds like a Carry on French Doctor sketch.
Photo of yesterday’s blue sky with fluffy clouds, taken while having our morning coffee on the patio that Orlin built. Who needs Polish builders when I have my own beefcake…
Well I have Orlin anyway.
Horrid journey for you Ash, glad you’re safely home.
Take care all, enjoy life but with a little more caution than we used to use.
Look out for those random pink flamingos, sometimes we need to look really hard but they are there I promise ?

Jaxjacky Tue 06-Jul-21 09:43:36

Thank you all so much, a few tears reading your kind posts
All tests so far are normal, awaiting rounds of paediatric consultant.

Nannytopsy Tue 06-Jul-21 09:34:37

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Our bit of Suffolk is grey and windy but the rain has stopped. I hope to dry washing and carrying on digging over my new flowerbed later, so I am keen that it stays dry.
I am glad to see that people are out and about and even a GN meet-up! Rest the toe Marydoll and keep handing out tea and cake! I find workmen always appreciate tea/coffee and a full biscuit tin.
We slept better and later last night, with only one visit from the cat. Refreshed and ready to go!
Best wishes to you all

Sar53 Tue 06-Jul-21 09:29:47

Gwenisgreat1, have you tried 'No Fog' wipes to keep your glasses from fogging up. I bought mine in Specsavers, I think they were £5.00 a box. They really work.

Susan56 Tue 06-Jul-21 09:16:58

Good morning from Shropshire.Raining at the moment.

Jax, I am so sorry to hear Imogen is so unwell.I hope you have better news from her soon.Thinking of you all??

Ash, DH and I had a similar experience at Birmingham New Street where no information was available. We eventually got a train to Shrewsbury thanks to DD at home googling and telling us what platform to go to.Its so stressful. You must have been exhausted especially with luggage and on your own?

Lovely sofa Elizabeth.I don’t think I would let anyone in the room with it though, it would have to be just for me!

I have a day of laundry and unpacking today?DH isn’t feeling very well.B wasn’t well at all last week when we looked after him and I think we have all caught what he had but DH really unwell today?

My other chore is to sew on the nine badges Miss M was presented with at rainbows last week.I think the leader must wait until she has a good order to put in when sending for the badges but it makes it a real chore sewing them on.

Grandmafrench, I hope your appointment goes well today and that you can understand and be understood!

Thinking of all struggling for whatever reason today?‍♀️

Have the best day you can everyone.??

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Lueneburg. I just popped in to wish Imogen to be better soon. This afternoon I am driving to my oldest school friend together with another school friend. We have know each other since we are 6 years old -- which was a very long long time ago. My granddaughter has gone on holiday with her Mother and Mother`s partner . They wanted me to come, but Waldi (my dog) is too old to take the heat. So, I am a bit sorry for myself. But soon, I hope, we can all travel freely again. I shall continue this morning to clear out - actually throw some things away. My husband kept everything in the shed, which could, maybe, be useful at some later stage. I should not complain about that, as we never needed to have anybody else to do our repairs. Now I have to have workmen for every little job. That`s life
Have a good day all and no worries - if possible.

Lins1066 Tue 06-Jul-21 08:52:47

Good morning from a dry S Welsh coast, heavy overnight rain though.
I hope that your granddaughter will be better soon Jax, what a worry for you all.

Sorry to hear about your stressful train journey Ash, we are going to London by train tomorrow and I have been worrying about social distancing.
Nothing much planned today.
Hope everyone will have a pleasant day despite the weather, keep safe.

B9exchange Tue 06-Jul-21 08:48:25

Good morning from a very wet Northallerton.

Jax what a horrible worry for you I do hope you don't have to wait too long for news, and that it is good. Hari I am so glad your DHs chemo can go ahead. Good to hear you are safely back Ash.

Mount Grace Priory yesterday was beautiful, it really had such a calm, peaceful atmosphere, and the flower borders were stunning. The guides were very informative about the lives the Carthusian monks used to lead. Despite the isolation, the monks really has a great life with a large house each with foid brought to them.
Unfortunately the photos are on my laptop, will try and find one later. In the afternoon
Today we are going round the James Herriott museum in Thirsk, then facing the drive to Edinburgh. With torrential rain forecast, think of us on the motorway!

BlueSapphire Tue 06-Jul-21 08:44:23

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton, but showers are forecast later. Just hope they hold off until after our health walk this afternoon.

It was the first time back at yoga yesterday in 18 months and I really enjoyed it. Only 8 of us so we were well spaced out. The only downside is that they no longer meet for coffee afterwards which is a pity. So had a slightly later one when I got home.

Cut both front and back lawns in the afternoon and also took all the dead blooms off the lilac bush.

Then added to the Sainsbury's order, ordered some new slippers to take on holiday, and also a beautiful-looking eye shadow palette. Eagerly waiting for my new goodies to arrive!

Hope Imogen is ok, and that you get good news soon Jax.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Pittcity Tue 06-Jul-21 08:44:10

Good morning from wet and windy Colchester.

Patio guy has been, dumped some sand and gone again. We may get a front path by the end of the week.

DH is fishing today and I am volunteering at a charity shop, so we'll leave the slowest workman in the east to it!

Love to all x

Anniebach Tue 06-Jul-21 08:43:53

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Mapleleaf Tue 06-Jul-21 08:41:24

Good morning from a rather grey, breezy, but gradually brightening South Yorkshire. We had a lot of heavy rain through the night so everywhere is still very damp.

I don’t think we’ll have much sun today, but I hope the rain holds off as I’ve got the plants we got from the garden centre on Sunday to plant out. At least the ground should be soft ?.

I do hope Imogen is alright today, Jaxjacky - a very worrying time for you all, and I send my best wishes and prayers to you.

Take care everyone.

Grandmafrench Tue 06-Jul-21 08:38:23

Good Morning everyone from an overcast and just a bit cooler S of France. We’ve avoided a storm threat since the wind got up and, probably, because I put away all the garden ‘soft furnishings’ late last night just in case.

The cats are often outside all night in this weather, harassing frogs, staring at moths and facing down the odd hedgehog, i.e. kidding themselves they’re the bold, butch hunters of times gone by! (They wish!) It’s certain that the lack of cushions last night will have interfered with their plans!

What a nasty shock for you all, jax, but try not to worry until you have all the facts. Easier said than done, I know, but you may find that the news today is so much better than you feared.
Everything crossed for Imogen. x

So loved your painting holly. That’s a talent you’ve kept well hidden!

Gwen it’s not much help in the heat, but my glasses don’t steam if I make sure they are low enough to trap the top line of the mask just under the bottom of the frames. They are hateful to wear though - especially today when I shall be involved in very much a question and answer session with a Specialist speaking in a foreign language with a Southern accent using technical phrases in a muffled voice and whose facial expressions are hidden. Naturally both of us will be obliged to raise our voices and I will want to be somewhere else……outside! Hey Ho! Need to take up life’s challenges, I suppose.

Now off to put away the weekly shop, kindly carried out by my DH whilst I chattered on here.

Keep safe, dear people. Above all, be of good cheer - more important than everything. ????May the sunbeams shine on you at least once today and most things turn out ok in your worlds.

Au ‘voir for now ?(and here comes our ??)
