Ok I have found a few advantages of wearing a mask! So I am starting off with:
1. Not having to pull the stray hairs out of my chin ?

GreyKnitter Tue 06-Jul-21 17:50:44

As others have mentioned, I don’t need to wear lipstick, hairy chin and upper lip are for my eyes only and that piece of lettuce on the teeth is well hidden. I quite like hiding behind my mask. Oh and on cold days in winter it keeps me warm.

I find that my mask acts as a very efficient bra for my double chin…

A mask hides my double chin.

Mouthing obscenities to ignorant oiks that come too close or don’t wear a mask without fearing for my life.

Exactly this! But apparently my "mouthing obscenities" has become "muttering obscenities" and I've been overheard! grin

Thanks for more ideas, how about eating sweets at work when you wouldn’t normally be allowed?
Having a built in tissue for a runny nose ?
So wrong but funny

There are so many benefits of mask wearing on this thread
that I don't think I'll ever again go out of the house without one.

A silent smelly fart in confidence, and not being to smell those of others.

AGAA4, Please will you share your solution to steamed up glasses ? My misty specs drive me mad !

Remove spectacles. Put your mask on, and pinch the wire to fit snugly around your nose, before putting your glasses back on over the top. It also helps of you use a demister spray (or washing up liquid) to clean your specs

Having suffered from resting b*tch face, which has got worse as my marionette lines get worse, I’m happy to hide my miserable face!

I bought a product from Boots for my daughter and she finds it works very well.

I can swear creatively at customers without them ever seeing my lips move wink

Saving a fortune on lipstick !

Flakesdayout Wed 07-Jul-21 11:34:28

I love my mask : I can mutter away and no one knows.I can pull a face and no one knows! I can talk to myself quietly (first sign of madness). No lipstick, Stray chin hairs no problem. Hayfever is less of a problem also. Face keeps warmer in cold weather and bad smells almost a thing of the past although I did get a whiff of a cigarette in the Hospital car park earlier.

Poking my tongue out at people who don't wear masks on the train to/from work!

I'm a little surprised they haven't taken off more as a fashion accessory. I'm not giving my masks up any time soon on my travel into work (ordered back to the office from 26.07.21) - I've been going in one or two days to check things and my train this morning was very busy. I'd caught the earlier one than normal hoping for a quiet train.

The not wearing makeup thing is a good bonus - and this from someone that never stepped out of doors without the full slap on! I have saved a small fortune on just mascara !
I'm afraid that I still have a phobia about the moustache/stray hairs, even with a mask though!

Definitely a bonus with the hayfever.

Hiding the sneer of contempt at those who warrant it, but unfortunately as they're not soundproof, no good for hiding the actual comments I am prone to making.
I have one which is a face, and that has occasioned a few comments from others, some complimentary, some not, so their masks let them down....

Alioop Wed 07-Jul-21 12:07:42

I was talking to a lady who's denture plate had broken and had been sent away to get fixed. She said she wouldn't of left the house only for her mask hiding her mouth.

hamster58 Wed 07-Jul-21 12:10:42

Some of those are so funny-and I can definitely identify with them. Talking to myself-no one can see- avoiding people who you can pretend not to see/be seen by, and keeping my nose warm when it was cold! Sadly in average weather it’s not so logical to add a bobble hat and go out to the shops looking a complete state and still get away with it!!!

Theoddbird Wed 07-Jul-21 12:21:25

Why do people not pull those stray hairs just because they have a mask on? I still pull the one stray hair on my cheek even though I rarely see anyone without wearing a mask.
