Good morning all. Haven’t had time to read all your posts and we have timed tickets for Godolphin House so must get going.
The sun is valiantly battling the clouds after an afternoon and night of very heavy rain. Hope it wins if only for a short time.
Hope everyone finds a smile today.
Wishing Mr&MrsGinster a very Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary ?????
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A late one for me and a damp start in South Yorkshire. It has been raining and is set to rain some more. Not a lot planned for us today except to stare at paint samples - again. It got silly yesterday, when DH held one of his tee shirts against the landing wall and said “how about something like this?” I went and fetched a pair of my shorts and said “No, it has to be more like this!” DD et al are coming to lunch tomorrow and will no doubt put their opinion into the melting pot. Saints preserve us!
Happy Golden Anniversary to the Gingsters - a wonderful milestone! Enjoy your day!????
Good morning.
It's a very dismal, grey start to the morning and feels rather close. We had a lot of heavy rain yesterday evening and into the night, and looking at the sky, I'd say we are due more before very long. Such a contrast to yesterday before the rain came - it was a gorgeous, sunny day.
Not a lot planned other than try to fix the front room window blind which decided to partially come away from the top of the frame to which it is attached with screws. I suspect it's going to be a tricky job to sort out.
To those of you with plans for the weekend or special occasions to celebrate, have a wonderful time. ?
Take care everyone.
Greetings all from an overcast Aberdeen. We did get to Dunnotar Castle yesterday, thank you rain for holding off. Today we are moving to our friends' house away from the city, sadly still can't get their shower to work!
Happy Golden Anniversary Gingster, lovely achievement. 'Ash' enjoy your ballet. Grandmafrench, I found the only way to get on a floating lilo is to hold it at the side of the pool, lie down and roll lengthways onto it, thus distributing the weight evenly! ?? Grandmattie I am obviously doing it wrong, I have complete strangers living in my house rent free looking after our cats! They are a lovely couple, and making a superb job of our garden whilst there..
Have as happy a day as you can everyone.
Happy Golden wedding anniverary to the Ginsters.
Good morning all rom N Bucks where it is fair but a bit grey and overcast.
Yesterday’s heavy downpours were a bit of a shock after a lovely sunny afternoon in the garden of out TAS chairman’s garden for a committee meeting followed by cream tea . It had just started to rain as we were leaving but by the time the friend giving me a lift got through Olney, the road was all but flooded and it was like the parting of the Red Sea.
I am sure you will enjoy Cinderella Ashcombe despite slightly lukewarm reviews for being a very “safe” production. I am one of Birmingham Royal Ballets greatest fans and get to their productions whenever I can, (even before my grandson danced in the Nutcracker a couple of Christmases ago. Seen here in rehearsal.) Ladies Tennis final for Rosie and me this afternoon, this was her watching the football! I shall miss the Men’s Final tomorrow but am looking forward to the Walthamstow Art Trail Open Studios with D, SIL and GS .
“From” not rom!
Happy Golden Wedding to the Gingsters too! ?
Good morning all from a grey and damp Lancashire. It seems we’re in for showers all day. The air is cooler and fresher, which is most welcome! It was very hot yesterday evening and night. No special plans for today, other than housework.
Happy Golden Anniversary to Mr. & Mrs. Ginster, have a wonderful day.
Happy Saturday all ?
Morning Mick and all
Late here, haven’t read posts yet, will catch up with my coffee after going to local shops.
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️??????????⚽️
Good morning all.
Just popping in to say Happy Golden Day to the Gingster’s.
I hope it is a good one.
Lots of you going out and about today so may you all enjoy.
Thank you all so much for your golden wedding wishes. ?❤️??
Happy Anniversary to the Ginsters??.
Finally read all your news…
Enjoy the ballet Ash
Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary Gingster and Mr.Gingster ??????
Marydoll I hope your supervising goes well.
Scentia enjoy your time looking after your GC, we have The Imp twice a week and his brother (6) in the school holidays, it’s hard going some days but the cuddles at nap time are sooo worth it.
It is raining here in my corner of S E Essex, so I have no excuse not to do the ironing (I hate ironing so much, pre-Covid I used to send it out) then I shall hunker down with my book (Where the Crawdads Sing recommended by our dear Urmstongran)
Bye ??♀️
Good morning Mick and acolytes from a brightening northwest Lancashire coast.
Just scraping in before I turn into a pumpkin or potato if it’s morning.,,
Am letting my feet recover after tramping around town yesterday catching up on various things. I bought some classic converse trainers, to stay ‘with it’ and made the mistake of changing into them in a cafe as my feet were getting sore in my usually comfy sandals. Carried on tramping and developed blisters on the heels etc. They are comfy and just need little inner socks.
DD arriving tomorrow from the South so preparing for that and so looking forward to it.
Congratulations Gingster and will read through later.
Thoughts to anyone worried in any way.
Good evening from near Sydney Australia.
It’s been raining, windy and 13 degrees here - which is freezing to us.
We’re back in lockdown so the most exciting thing I did today was repot my hanging baskets.
I hope you all have a lovely day and make the best of whatever comes your way in your part of the world.
hollysteers I have had leather and canvass Converse Trainers, I wore them round the house, out to lunch where no walking was involved always ended up with blisters.
Tried once more last night (taxi to restaurant door, walked to table, walked from table to door to get taxi home) blisters on both little toes, I am never going to put them in again!
My sister has recommended a brand called VEGA they have some lovely styles so that’s going to be my next purchase (maybe this afternoon)
Tail end Charlie, again, so Good afternoon Mick, Annie, and all.
We have been out shopping and it's pretty dismal, so we didn't bother stopping for coffee in our usual place.
Had a bit of a shock earlier this morning, when I received a Thank you for the invitation, email, from SIL's mum. Evidently DH had spoken to DD about our forthcoming anniversary and it had gone form there. DH was going to mention it, but hadn't got round to it. So looks like we will be having a gathering in September. ?
I am going to put my feet up this afternoon and watch TV, nothing else, as I am tired out now.
Many Congratulations to the Ginsters, on their Golden wedding anniversary. ??
Racing in as Tail End Charlie can leave you a bit shattered, Auntieflo ?? but so lovely to read your post, as always.
Seems as if you'll need to store up both enthusiasm and energy for September then? Suppose you can't really blame people for looking for reasons to celebrate, though - it has been a pretty dismal time for all, hasn't it.
Sorry to hear about your family members' Covid, muse. Do hope that things are improving. Worrying times.
Loved the advice B9 but maybe a tad reckless, dear lady - "lie down at the edge of the pool and roll onto it?" I can see how this will end.............it's not a big Lilo, so the timing will have to be very precise. Oh dear !
French bureaucracy is indeed a pain, baubles. Your shop sounds absolutely wonderful and such a popular way of re-using and recycling good stuff. I know that most people here would be blown away at the chance of a visit. Charity shops like that don't exist in France - we're lucky to have a second hand shop or flea market. And so often such tat !
30 degrees in the shade - so putting down my cup, time for another swim and more Lilo wrangling! Take care all. ☀️?
Hello Platypus. Raining here in Cornwall too but a little warmer than your Australian temperature. Just finished watching Ash Barty win the final at Wimbledon. Excellent match.
Goodness Grandmattie there's a lot of money to be made letting houses close to big events like that.
Bet you enjoyed the ballet Ash. Not heard of the Gold Bus . Wonder if we have one in Cornwall.
I'm doing diddly squats today as well Espee. Love it.
Crazy garden here too Dwmxwg. I've tried to get the gardener back early to help but he's fully booked. Did a little yesterday, but it's so tiring. Calf muscle is not 100% yet. I think I'm about 50% there with fitness. More pilates stretches are planned for later on.
Same here with covid Grandmajean. My step son texted again this morning. Wife and daughter still feeling tired but they are all now out of isolation. The school is struggling with so many cases.
Happy Anniversary to the* Gingsters* ??.
Kettles on. Might catch up with the ladies doubles.
