Apparently Prince George was dressed like that (formal shirt and tie) because he wanted to wear the same as his father. It would be sad if people, especially those from other countries, thought that it was normal wear for seven-year-old English princes at football matches.

For heaven’s sake. What an odd reaction. There were photos of Prince George in his formal outfit all over the media. I thought many people would find his clothes absurd and was just explaining the reason for them.

Prince William is an Aston Villa fan and enjoys his football. Personally, I find it both refreshing and reassuring that our future monarchy will have William at the helm one day. Diana would approve of him attempting to lead a near 'normal' life as possible for himself and his children.

Sorry for being snappy. Some of us are feeling it a bit this morning. It was so disappointing and while some people don’t care - a lot do. I was looking for some positive in our future king being so happy and abandoned and not being stiff like some other royals. As for the boy - yes he should’ve had a football shirt on but it’s not a big issue. It’d have been a minefield as to what name and number was on it. Safer in a suit! I’d bet he wears his West Ham shirt when he’s at home.

So you think it’s absurd to dress how they like, even to a football match, he wanted to copy his dad, like most kids do. and what is it to do with any other country what our little Prince wears. For goodness sake.

Polarbear have you never seen the ludicrous clothes, small boys get shoved into for big events? All those tiny boys in suits and bow ties for weddings and other family events.

It would not surprise me if Prince George wanted to dress like his Dad for a big event. Even though being reared for the job all those people watching him must be daunting at his age and there is a lot of confidence to be gained by dressing like Dad.

No one even comments when little girls want to dress like Mum.

One of my GSs had the choice of polo shirts or proper long sleeved shirts for school. He always insisted on the proper shirts. His brother sticks with the polo shirts and is usually covered with mud. Children all have different tastes.

Please read what I said. At no point did I say I thought it absurd. I said I thought many people would, so I was trying to explain, to anyone who didn’t know, that he wanted to dress like his father.

One of my little GSs loves to wear smart clothes and I often go round and see him biking round the garden in smart jacket and shirt and tie.

What people wear means nothing,but the delight on William and Georges face would make anyone smile regarsless of what team they support.
And i think the England team did us proud,well that`s my opinion anyway.

Many years ago I was instructed by the bride-to-be exactly what DS was to wear to the wedding, even though he wasn't a paperboy (and we had to pay) so spent money we could ill afford on a bowtie, matching trousers and waistcoat and formal shirt. The little boy on her side of the family insisted he wanted a straight tie like his Daddy, so trousers, shirt and straight tie
I hid my annoyance very well ?
