I’m no royalist but I thought it was lovely to see Prince William leap into the air when England scored. It was pure abandoned joy. No airs and graces. No polite clapping. Just a big fat yessss!! Brilliant. The little one was fun too. And Kate looked like she was actually enjoying it and not putting it on. 10/10.

JaneJudge Mon 12-Jul-21 13:36:38

top off not top on, I hate my autocorrect today!

JaneJudge Mon 12-Jul-21 13:36:16

If we are discussing clothes. Why was a man in trousers without a top on described as a streaker? grin is this some new woke streaking behaviour wink

Blossoming Mon 12-Jul-21 13:32:15

Hmm, this has gone well,

I thought all the men in suits looked very smart. Unlike Boris Johnson’s ‘Worzel Gummidge in an England shirt’ impersonation the other day grin.

Grandma70s Mon 12-Jul-21 13:13:16

I was under the impression these were discussion threads, where different points of view were accepted, even welcomed. I was obviously wrong, and since I have no desire to be insulted I will keep away.

It's up to them how Prince George is dressed. I thought they all looked lovely and obviously enjoying themselves.

JaneJudge Mon 12-Jul-21 12:19:44

The Queen went to Coronation Street last week and looked pretty chuffed with herself doing so smile

NannyofN Mon 12-Jul-21 11:49:10

I have been lucky enough to meet a royal Prince Phillip and he had no airs and graces . He was very down to earth as I am sure something he instilled in his family also.

jaylucy Mon 12-Jul-21 11:39:59

Seeing George's reaction when England scored was priceless!
Apparently there is a smart dress code in the Royal Box - Ed Sheeran only found out when he turned up in his usual t shirt and jeans and turned round and saw David Beckham etc !

Can anyone explain how Kate Moss got a seat in the Royal Box ? She looked totally bore every time the camera showed her !

To be fair polly12 the thread only took an unpleasant turn when some posters started snapping at another poster over a fairly innocuous comment.
I know the OP has apologised, but telling a poster to 'go away' because you don't like something they said on another thread, and others joining in with their cutting remarks is hardly gransnet at its most edifying.

Alegrias1 Mon 12-Jul-21 11:10:02

Why does nobody read the posts that come before? Nobody broke any rules. Not Catherine, not Harry.

One thing I'll say for the RF, they know how to manage their image and none of them would show up at an event watched by millions of people if they were breaking quarantine!

I don’t read threads on cooking / baking, is the virus discussed on these threads

Grany Mon 12-Jul-21 11:05:40

trisher

I'm still trying to work out how you can be in contact with Covid on July 2nd, self isolate for the required 10 days and go to a cup final on the 11th. Maybe marrying into the RF gives you the ability to time travel????

Quite trisher my daughter travelled from Dubai is in quarantine in hotel can only go out around car park three times a day chaperoned, for 10 days. No breaking rules Royals are above the law so they are allowed to do as they like and they do not accountable And nothing is ever said.

He got plenty to cheer about.

Why would it matter if people from other countries thought anything about what any child wears to a football match in England? I admit I don't know much about football in general but I can't imagine anyone being that interested in what children wear to a football match. Do you have any opinions about what French/German/Brazilian/Canadian children wear to football matches?

Absolutely right.
My goodness.

maddyone Mon 12-Jul-21 11:01:49

Glad to hear all the relatives of Gransnetters have recovered.

maddyone Mon 12-Jul-21 10:54:59

theworriedwell yes we do smile

theworriedwell Mon 12-Jul-21 10:51:53

Jane glad your son has recovered well. My son got it at the end of last year so no chance of a jab. He is now doubled jabbed and had a bad dose of the virus so I'm hoping he is safe now. He was working on a ward that was badly affected so he probably got a big initial infection plus he had been doing lots of hours all through so he was probably not at his healthiest to fight it. He is fine now thank goodness.

Polly12 Mon 12-Jul-21 10:50:40

Grandma70s

Apparently Prince George was dressed like that (formal shirt and tie) because he wanted to wear the same as his father. It would be sad if people, especially those from other countries, thought that it was normal wear for seven-year-old English princes at football matches.

The thread was started in a positive way - whatever one’s views of the Royal family, of football, etc, after almost 28 bleak months of Covid, surely a bit of pleasure would not go amiss.

theworriedwell Mon 12-Jul-21 10:47:48

I just reread my post to yours, I wasn't clear, I was agreeing with you. Gosh it is hard sometimes isn't it.

I think we agree.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 12-Jul-21 10:47:07

We were pinged by the App the day before Christmas Eve, told to isolate for three days.
Isolation is from when you come into contact with someone who consequently tests post for Covid.
We traced it back to going out to dinner in a local restaurant.
