Couldn't wait to try out lovely new white swimsuit. Went to local swimming pool with OH and 2 sons. I was kicking my legs out in front kind of floating. My husband came up and told me quietly my swimsuit was completely see through in the water. I had to make a hasty exit holding young son in front to protect my modesty.

Yes, my 50th birthday, in the local, black stockings, suspenders, thé lot. A friend pointed it out…female friend that is!

shock
You would think you might have felt a draft, at least.
At least you didn't squash into the plane like it.

I walked from a terminal building across the tarmac to an aeroplane with my dress tucked up into my nickers!
Air hostess enlightened me as I turned away from her to find my seat, at the plane door.
I was mortified. blush

Oh yes! Judy Finnegan and the greying bra. smile

MissAdventure

I was also at a cousin's wedding, wearing a dress with thin straps, chatting to my uncle.
I had a drink in one hand, and a plate of food in the other (of course!) when the straps of my dress fell down and the dress went down to my waist, showing off a horrible strapless bra.
Still, I was at least wearing one.

Like Judy what’s er name (Richard and..) at that awards ceremony…..

In the days of suspender belts, mine snapped as I was getting into the car for my driving test. Each change of gear meant my stockings sliding further and further down towards my ankles. I think the only thing that got me through my test was that (at a very self conscious 17) I was more worried about the stocking tops appearing that the test itself!

I sometimes have my top inside out, with the "plus size" label on show, which is the worst bit.

I once went and did my weeks grocery shopping with my dress inside out, it wasn’t till I was taking my trolley back to the car I went to get a tissue out of my pocket and realised.

Yes indeed I have
We were invited to the evening 'do' of a lovely friend's wedding
Our children were small and we didn't have much money. I had saved up some birthday and Christmas money and bought a very glamorous chiffon dress from Wallis (remember them?)
I returned from the toilet and volunteered to go to the bar, something that I never would do, because I wanted to swank in my lovely dress
Whilst at said bar, a guy tapped me on the shoulder and actually said to me that my dress was stuck in my knickers?
The shame has never left me ?

I'm very unimaginative, clothes wise, I reckon.
The gypsy skirt incidents are all at least 5 years apart. smile
Time for an update to bring me into this century.

Blossoming Thu 15-Jul-21 22:13:40

I think I’d give up on the gypsy skirts as work attire grin

BlueBelle Thu 15-Jul-21 22:04:49

I ve gone to work with my top inside out more than once
I ve also gone out with yesterday’s pants stuffed in my skinny jeans didn’t know until I found a strange lump
I saw a lady come out the public loo with a length of toilet roll floating behind her caught in her knicks

MissAdventure Thu 15-Jul-21 21:53:33

grin
How funny!

I fell off the quayside, two kind men pulled me out but I had no change of clothes. I managed to make myself decent with a wool snood as a mini-skirt, my 10 yr old's jacket as a top and my DH size 11 muddy boots, for the drive back from Devon. Near Exeter DH piped up "lets stop off for a pub lunch" - wasn't kidding, he really thought that was a good idea!

MissAdventure Thu 15-Jul-21 21:47:26

Yes, both times.
I also did an induction at work, and went ahead of the man I was showing around.
I had a gypsy skirt on that time too, and fluorescent pink lace drawers.
Time to give update my wardrobe and throw out those skirts, I think.

I think they're too flouncy to feel anything amiss.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 15-Jul-21 21:43:48

Oh dear! You must have been mortified ?

Yes I’ve done that a few times so now I’m always checking on the occasions I wear a skirt.

MissAdventure Thu 15-Jul-21 21:33:12

This morning I wore a full, gypsy type skirt for work.
Walked to the bus stop, and off to the station, where I changed buses for the second part of my journey.
Called in to a shop, then the food bank.

When I arrived at work, "My" lady politely said there was something wrong with the back of my skirt.

There was; it was tucked right into my knickers!
I keep thinking about it now blush
Has anyone had similar happenings?
