Jaxjacky, thank you for your morning greeting. It was my birthday yesterday, I usually keep it quiet!
Hello, Rufus, I’ve not been on this thread before. We are enjoying some Australian weather here at the moment. My son and family are in Sydney and I always think their winters are like our summers. One of the reasons I considered emigrating but your government doesn’t make it easy for elderly Brits to do so. Can’t blame them, you’d probably be overwhelmed with us.

Hi Rufus , you’ll know how hot it is here, for how long I wonder, we’re never satisfied.
Not doing anything or going anywhere, the last months have altered all our usual routines.
Do you have the U3A where you are. We used to spend time on trips, holidays and theatre visits with them, of course that all stopped and now things are a bit ‘normal’ we don’t feel like joining again. Mr Covid has a lot to answer for . Pleased to see some people are having a bit more excitement . All our armchairs are getting worn out ?
Cheers ????????

Hello * Rufus* lovely day here, I have been out in the garden today weeding. I am not going out today, staying in and enjoying the weather.
I agree with you about the flooding in parts of Europe, it is shocking. I am watching it on Sky news now
My Grandson is going to the coast tommorow and he loves picking up the small crabs on the beach.
Sleep well.

Hi Rufus, no lemon tree but tomato’s are wilting in the greenhouse, I’ll direct the men there, plan b for the lady drivers.
It’s is very warm, I hope we get the storms hinted at for Monday, save watering and a bit of respite for the greenhouse, it’s cooling down at the end of the week, when our schools break up, of course.
For our saunter to the local later I may have to don a frock, let some air circulate.
Take care ?

What ho *Rufus2"! Sorry I've come over all Wodehouse. What a writer!
Your weather sounds fine by me. I'm sitting in a darkened room with the fan going full blast. Just too hot.
Nothing much going on here. I do enjoy that Australian TV programme 'Offspring'. It makes me feel much more secure with my family although I'm fond if the Proudmans.
Stay cosy!

What a miserable day Wet, cold , windy! On the other hand, what a lovely to be locked down! I’m definitely not complaining, looking at the flood devastation in Europe.
Infinity2 What’s an A12 film, as if I couldn’t guess!?
“Virtually naked women!? In fishnet tights? I’d be messed up too!
Muse You’re trying to tempt me back to Cornwall with your plugs for St.Austell Ale, chip butties and now Cornish crab! ,but I’m afraid it won’t work as I hate shellfish!

We did have a very nice holiday in Padstow, Rick Stein’s territory, many, many years ago and we still get his TV progs, but the sight of anyone holdinga crab or lobster aloft while it’s still alive gives me the creeps!
As I’ve said before, my fondest memories of Cornwall centre on Par where I plighted my troth to Vera. She didn’t say “I’ll think about it” or “I’ll get back to you! so began 62 years of wedded bliss! smile
We were staying with her Aunt and Uncle at the time and I’ll never forget Vera telling me to explain a very rude joke told to her by Uncle. I had to think fast, but knowing which side my bread was buttered I explained.
Surprisingly there were no shock waves, but she promptly told Uncle he was very rude!
You can’t win!
Sorry to read that Cornwall is “heaving”, whatever that is!?

*Aveline” The room with a view is an improvement! It must be a windy place with the trees leaning to the right, so I suppose the ocean is on the left!? confused
I recommend you go for crutches, guaranteed to attract sympathy from kindly gentlemen who’ll willingly open restaurant doors and draw your chair up to the table!
Forget about being patronised; milk it for all it’s worth! hmm

Jaxjacky Freshly dug spuds; you can’t beat them! Everyone’s eating well these days, probably in readiness for Celebration Day on Monday!
Here’s your answer as to what your lovely delivery people do on hot days
Invite them to use your lemon tree! It’s a proven way of preventing gall wasp larvae from crawling out of the ground and up the tree plus it’s a well known fact that gentlemen perform best when standing up against something; a bit like dogs and posts! shock
What!? No lemon tree!/ No problem! I’m sure they’ll find something suitable in your new greenhouse. Hide your sunhat first though! grin

rafichagran I’ve seen many cartoons depicting the Lady of the house reading a book whilst reclining in a hammock and partner sweating away mowing the lawn.
Unfortunately my problem would be getting into the hammock in the first place!
Nice of you to put GN first before truly relaxing and take care not to drop off! hmm

It’s now 10.45pm 10C out there; Quite mild really!
Good Health wine wine wine
