Good Morning everyone from hot and sunny etc.,
Not surprised you’re tired B9 - wonderful view by the way. I think we’re very unused to going off on holidays now. Shame. It’s going to take some time to re-adjust, I reckon. When I worked, it was a different problem. We worked very long hours and even worse before and after any holidays. But once on a holiday, I’m afraid we used to get rather over-excited and go a bit mad. Many holidays involved driving - as I got more and more disenchanted with flying. So, there were times when we’d start a holiday in one country and return home really tired - having been tempted by the delights of one - or two - more. Ridiculous fun, but almost always lived to regret it!
Ash is quarantine for visitors from France to England to be abolished from 1st August? Hope I didn’t dream that and your DH can start making some plans.
Alizarin that’s a fabulous knitted belt. Unfortunately, I’d need to start by knitting myself a waist first. ?
Glad he’s able to start some more Chemo, Harri. Does seem as if the bad numbers are dropping in the UK - or is that just England? Hospitals, Clinics etc., should - in my view - still stick to the highest standards of care possible and although it’s hateful, non-patients need to be discouraged from attending. Masks, sanitising, all of it to a high standard around those who are sick or vulnerable. The French President’s determination to make all medical staff and Care workers be vaccinated - without further delay - has been passed in law. Most people, thankfully, are more concerned about Covid than the views of those who are happy to please themselves. It was a disgrace that only 40% of such personnel had bothered to be jabbed to protect those they were treating!
In our family, Elizabeth we tend to stick to cards for everyone, presents for children (and each other) and presents for everyone on ‘big’ birthdays, like 21, 40, 50 etc., I think you should give presents to whoever you choose - it’s a lovely thing to do and a personal choice, but I wouldn’t consider giving regularly to anyone who never gave presents and was mean! So, know how you feel!
I’ve invited 12 people to lunch on Friday - having worked out all the garden seating. They haven’t confirmed yet, but I hope I don’t live to regret it……already trying to visualise 24 large half peppers on trays in my oven for starters. Think the rest of the food must all be prepared in advance, to avoid heat (and heated kitchen debates!)
Have yourselves a lovely day, all. Keep safe and ? smiling.
?♀️???????? and hugs !
