Many years ago I had a premonition that a situation that I longed for would come true.....It hasn't yet but is still possible.
(I can't give any details)
Have any of you had a premonition that came true?

As some friends walked into our house, I told them I'd had a dream they'd be moving. t=They laughed and asked where to and I said back to where you came from. Shortly afterwards they moved to house 1 street away from their previous one!
I also suddenly one evening "heard a metallic bang and got a flash of black lines before my eyes. I was wide awake. This turned out to be the exact time when my then fiance in Cyprus (I was in the UK} was thrown into the RAF jail for being drunk and disorderly.
The scariest one is where I suddenly started thinking about my brother and had an urge to write the story of his life on the road as a professional drummer in various bands. This was on my mind for about 3 days and I convinced myself that perhaps it was something I was destined to do and planned to ring him about it. Before I did so though I got a call from my dad, telling me my brother had hung himself, at home, the previous evening. I had dreadful dreams for months afterwards until I had one where I saw his silhouette walking into my house through french doors (which I didn't have!) with really bright sunlight fanning out in rays around him. The dreams stopped after that.
There have been others but one really weird one was about Maddy MCann. For some unknown reason, in the early hours of one morning , my jeweller box which played Brahms Lullaby suddenly started playing. It wasn't even open when I jumped up to stop it. I then glanced out of our window and saw an ambulance parked in the layby opposite, and at the same time I had this thought that Maddy was in the UK in Hebden Bridge (a place I had never heard of so I woke my long suffering hubby and asked if there was such a place!) I know that I had gone to sleep thinking about her because of the news, but still weird. In light of other experiences like this I even contacted the police and told them eventually but via email - I am sure they just binned it as being another crackpot idea but I have never been able to shake it to this day.
I am still waiting for a glass bridge/structure between two skyscrapers to explode (a dream from many years ago now) and when I read that a swimming pool had been built between two high rise buildings recently I was very worried (although in my dream the glass structure was at an angle with the centre of it was narrower that where it joined the buildings, not level.
Hope I haven't bored everyone with my ramblings but good to know I'm not the only one who has episodes of weirdness!

My mother was a terrible worrier (I blame the war!). She always expected the worst to happen, then claimed to have foreseen it, if it did.
She didn’t want my brother to go on a cruiser on the Norfolk Broads with his friends, saying that it was dangerous. Sadly, he slipped on the deck in the dark, banged his head as he fell overboard, and was drowned. My mother insisted that she knew it was going to happen.

I had a premonition of the Abefan disaster in the early hours of the day it happened, but I didn’t know where it was going to happen so couldn’t help. It was so real, I was fighting to pull children out of the mud!

Predictive dreams or premonitions..I've had several, all of which came true.

I had a recurring dream that I was going blind.
I knew my son would marry someone who already had a wee boy, even though he absolutely insisted that if he ever did marry (he was a teenager at the time), he'd never contemplate bringing up someone else's child but 24 years later he's doing just that.

I also knew he'd have a daughter, long before he even had a serious partner. I was so sure that I made a quilt for her, bought books and toys and put them away for her arrival. She's 8 months old today.

Sadly I knew I'd find my mother dead but the strange thing about that was the event itself became a premonition.

Mum made nightly 'Goodnight-and-God Bless" phone calls to us and one night, didn't.

About 10:30 (quite later for her) I tried to phone her and it rang and rang.
I asked a friend to ring from a different phone. Same result.
I got my 12 year old son out of bed and we drove to Mums, letting ourselves in with our key.
Mum popped out of her room, 'What on earth are you two doing here at this time of night?"
I collapsed with tears of relief. She was just about to make the 'goodnight' call wheh we arrived.

After calming cups of tea, testing the phone which had no faults, my son and I returned home.
I knew even then, and told him, "this was a rehearsal", so when the same thing happened 4 weeks later, I knew Mum wouldn't be popping her head round the door in surprise.

My son too has very strong premonitions and usually acts on them but he once 'knew' his car was going to be stolen from the Mall carpark as he and friends were going into the complex to see a film.
He regretted not acting on that feeling as his car, his pride and joy, was taken and trashed in some distant area.

I've had a recurring dream about ringing 999 and in each dream there's a different reason why I never get through.

Twice in my real life I've needed to ring the emergency services and each time, though I got through, they didn't turn up. angry

Now, a future happening and I have no strong feelings about this, just a very, very vivid dream.

I saw what looked like a car number plate - white rectangle with black lettering: "28th August 2021".

I haven't a clue what it means but I may buy a Lotto ticket (something I never do) just in case grin

In early July 2000 I dreamt that Concorde had crashed - which it did on 25th July.

On 17th July 2006 I joined a local walking group and had several very nice chats with people, one man in particular who made me laugh. At home that evening I heard a voice that said he and I would be very important to each other: we've now been married for 12 years.

Hello friends! I’m new here. I joined because today is my youngest child’s 21st birthday, but more about that later. I just want to share a few premonitions I have had that have come true. More like just weird feelings I guess. I wish I could learn how to trust them before they happen. Maybe someone here can help me with this.
The first time it happened I was in Las Vegas. My parents took me there for my 21st birthday. My stepfather took me to a roulette table and gave me chip. He told me to put it on the table wherever I wanted. I put it on the green single circle. He said “well don’t put it there!” I told him something made me want to. He said, “well, okay then” it hit. He said “don’t ever listen to my advice again”.
The next time it happened I was at the Saratoga Racetrack. While flipping through the racebook one of the races stood out to me as well as 3 horses in the race. I had a feeling to play those 3 horses in a box trifecta. I knew nothing about racing really. My friends wanted to leave before that race. I refused and said I HAD to play that race. I placed $2 on the trifecta. One of the horses was a long shot. I won $350. This was in 1992. My husband told me if I ever had that “feeling” again to please bet more than $2. But…. How do you know when the feeling is real?!?!
The third time was in Vegas again. The Willy Wonka machine kept calling to me but every time I wanted to play, there were no empty seats. The last night we were there we were at a different casino from the hotel we were staying at. I saw it from a distance. It seemed to “glow” and call to me. I put $20 in and bet the max bet. I won $400. I have never had a negative or scary premonition, luckily. Now to the story about my son.
My husband and I agreed he would get a vasectomy after I turned 35 as I did not want to get pregnant after then because of the increased risk of birth defects. He is my 3rd child. I conceived him 1 month prior to turning 35. My Daughter fell off a horse and got a compound fracture to her arm a month after I got pregnant. I did not know I was pregnant at the time. I was in the room with her during X-rays and it was a very stressful time. After we got home from the hospital I had severe cramping. I thought it was because I was getting my period, but nope. I was pregnant. I also had a lot of spotting throughout the pregnancy which I never had with my previous pregnancies. He was born healthy. I knew in my heart he was meant to be here. He fought to be here. I know to my core, I “feel” it, that he is going to do something great and important. Also, he was born at 3:21, 21 years ago. I woke up at 3:20 this morning abruptly out of a sound sleep. I then had abdominal pains for several hours that felt like menstrual cramps, even though I have gone through menopause. Very strange. Probably a coincidence, but strange nonetheless. Everyone thinks their children are special, but I have two other kids and there is something different about him. He’s not my favorite child, I don’t have a “favorite” child. I know some people do, but I love and favor them all equally. It’s just a strong feeling I have. Thank you for listening to my story. I have shared with friends and family, but I wanted to share with like minded people who may have experienced the same things I have. I welcome any thoughts or advice.

Just this week.
Out of the blue, I suddenly thought of an acquaintance a lot, over Tuesday and early Wednesday. He had been “unwell” and we’d not seen him since early December.
When I went to the cafe where we would meet, he turned up! He had been seriously ill, but was now well enough to come. Joyful reunions all round!
It happens tome a lot.

A couple of dreams I have had that came true, neither very dramatic. The most recent was that I dreamt our shower wouldn't work. The following day we found that the on/off ceiling pull switch wasn't working so we had to get someone out to fix it.

The one I'll never forget is a dream, not a premonition. I dreamt I was on a date with Dodi Al Fayed. It was a lovely dream with a gingham table cloth in our picnic hamper.

I woke up to find he'd died. I was rather sad. Felt like I knew him.

Redhead56

I was only talking about this yesterday. I was walking to my then boyfriends house from the bus stop about half a mile. It was after work so about 6.30 on an autumn night.
I had to walk down a church pathway from the village. I started the walk and a cyclist was behind me I walked out of the way to let him pass. Suddenly out the blue I had a picture in my mind of him getting off the bike and looking at the back wheel. I walked faster as I approached the cyclist leaned down towards his bike exactly what I had thought he would do. I literally ran a couple of steps and turned around and he was right behind me. I screamed so loud he grabbed his bike and was gone. Three weeks later in the same spot there were two rapes. I never went down the path again.
Every time I drive past that church the night is still fresh in my mind. I have never been interested in anything that can’t be explained but that premonition did happen.

I've never had any premonitions of any kind unfortunately as I love all this spooky stuff.
What interests me about this post is the more mundane (Sorry Redhead56) aspect of women's safety in public places. Years ago I had just entered a public wooded common with my dog for his daily walkies and walking down a pathway I also was overtaken by a (robust, young)man on a(robust) bicycle. He also stopped , some distance in front of me, and pulled over and started fiddling with the bike.
I stopped dead instinctively because it seemed a false stop to me , watched for a minute or so ,then I returned(fast) the way I had come so as not to encounter this man.
Not premonition , but instinct. No reports of subsequent rapes as in Redhead 56s interesting and spooky tale, but it makes you think.
If you think you are in danger , ladies, you may well be in danger. Always give yourself the benefit of the doubt.

I don't count dreams as premonitions, although I know a lot of people do.

I have had lots of premonitions, some have unhappily come true, some happily did so, and a lot I have forgotten all about.

One of the more amusing, was feeling sick on the way to work for weeks, so when my sister rang to tell me that her elder daughter was expecting, I said "congratulate her, and tell her from now on she copes with her morning sickness herself" I had finished the menopause by that time, so I knew I wasn't pregnant.
