Hello!

My absolute top recommendation is a bath chair contraption recommended by Riverwalk (it’s called a Bellavita Bath Lift, and it’s available from Amazon).
Thank you so much! ?
If it were possible RW I’d buy you a bottle of something lovely!

And an honourable mention goes to Avon’s Glimmerstick for brows, as recommended by lemongrove and others.
(I’m mid auburn, but blonde is perfect for my demi-brows.)

What excellent recommendations have you picked up from here?

Thank you! ?

Has to be the recipe for lemonade scones for me

I'm eternally grateful for the recommendations for foot peel masks, Rosy Glow moisturiser and Avon Glimmerstick eyebrow pencil. They are all now staples in my beauty routine! Oh, and I've recently bought some Aldi Caviar moisuriser as well after all the good comments on it. I'll alternate that with the Rosy Glow for days that I feel naturally "glowy" grin

I have MawBe to thank for introduction me to the Sahara clothes label grin

A tip I appreciated from GN years ago, was that baby wipes cleaned off any marks from pine furniture ( especially lipstick that young DGD used to graffito some bedroom furniture.)
Also keeping a spare wash ‘puff’ in the bathroom cabinet for a fast clean up of the sink when unexpected visitors arrive ?
Also all the recipe suggestions over the years, and recently on a baking muffins thread that I started.Am now able to turn out professional looking muffins and am absurdly pleased with my new found skill.

What language are you learning with Duolingo, Terribull? I have been using it for Polish for over a year now, too. I think I was first aware of it from reading about it on Gransnet. Something is getting into my old grey matter I think, although I recently came across some videos on YouTube saying that Duolingo is not the best way to learn.

I have found the Scrabble game "Classic Words" thanks to GN. I don't know whether to thank anyone for it, as I've become sort of addicted and spend far too much time on it. I have only played off line so far. Anyone like to play on line?

I liked the recommendation to put a cake of soap in your bed to help restless legs.smile

Two problems I have solved:

I couldnt bend down to feed the cats, so bought a tray with a carrying handle, so I can put the tray on a table, load it up, then put it on the floor without bending.

I love my adjustable bed, but raising the back makes it impossible to reach things on the bedside cabinet. I got someone to cut a plywood inner lid for the top drawer.
Now when I put the back up, I can open the drawer and have a table for my cup of tea. I can still use the drawer.
(The stains were already on the wood and won't come off!)

Poppyred Google ‘anti slip rug underlay’, it’s a thin layer a bit like interfacing. You cut it to size, just press it to the back of the rug and it will stay in place. I think Dunelm sell it, we bought some from Homebase.

Woolovers is one of many brilliant GN recommendations. I wouldn’t buy my woolies anywhere else.

This is the lazy person's guide to keeping a fridge sparkling clean if you have a dishwasher.

I have a f/f, and a single fridge and a separate freezer (don't ask!) I take out a couple of glass shelves, depending on the size of the dishwasher, bring them to room T so they do not crack, put in the dishwasher on the quick wash, leave them to reach room T and voila, perfect clean glass shelving.

Any recommendations for keeping a rug in place on a carpet? Does the double sided tape work?

I’ve just downloaded the radio garden app.
I dropped into a discussion on narcissism from a station in Pretoria!
Thank you welbeck

I'm glowing rosily this morning, having used my Rosy Glow.
It is great.

Radio garden? Off to google!
Blossoming it’s good to hear about the Rosy Glow smile
They should advertise on here really!

To the member who suggested wiping your stainless steel hob with cooking oil after cleaning it - a big thank you. When I read the tip I thought never, it was counter intuitive, but having found it such hard work to get rid of streaks I tried it and it worked!
Now it's a normal part of my cleaning routine.

Karacher window washer was one I bought and really like .

Blossoming Sun 05-Sept-21 21:21:29

FannyCornforth I’m still using Rosy Glow. Excellent product!

Blossoming Sun 05-Sept-21 21:19:49

Shysal I bought a Zyliss easy pull manual food processor after reading your post. It’s wonderful, especially if, like me, onions sting your eyes. Thank you for the recommendation.

Duolingo, I can't remember who mentioned it, but thank you very much to that person. I'd never heard of it before, now I use that site practically every day.

As long as they don’t smell like chips….

FannyCornforth Thu 29-Jul-21 09:13:16

Lucca

Re the eyebrow thing. I was blonde am now grey/silver. What colour ? I got one from Boots but it just looks brown and very fake !

I’d definitely try the blonde glimmerstick if I were you.
It’s more of a light taupe, no yellow tones.
I also bought the light brown one, but there’s little difference between the two.
Only £3.50!
And while you are the Avon website, buy yourself some perfume! Cheap as chips, but some of their smells are fabulous.

shysal Thu 29-Jul-21 09:13:06

My most-used item recommended on GN is the Zyliss easy pull manual food processor, great for small quantities.

Next favourite is the onion comb, then soup maker.

Also many thanks to the several plant identifiers, more accurate than an app!
