Good Morning Everyone,
Its a cloudy and wet start here in Brackley this morning , my plans are to shop early .
I am in two minds whether to stay home and get a Fish & Chip takeaway , or get the bus to Bicester and have a couple of hours there and go to Sainsburys cafe and have Fish & Chips there , followed by a beer or two , or maybe a coffee before coming home .
Yesterday , with coach trips starting up again , have decided on a day trip a week Saturday to Windsor , its only £19 door to door on the coach .
Take Care,
Mick

A later good morning from me this morning, S Lanarkshire has brightened up considerably since baubles posted earlier.

Good pictures this morning, Ashcombe, you look lovely. And a happy lunch with your family, how nice.

I am currently having a post walk coffee having been horrified yesterday at my lack of fitness when doing one of Lesley Sansone’s ‘Brisk Walk’ videos on YouTube. I did them regularly during our first lockdown and could manage easily, I couldn’t believe the difference but I did know I have been letting things slip. I just became fed up walking on my own but needs must now.

I’m so sorry your husband is having such a bad time after his chemo Harrigran, thoughts to you both?
I hope GrannySomerset is having a better time too just now.

Best wishes to everyone feeling poorly today and special??to you*Grandmabatty*, I hope the blues pass quickly:

Good morning Mick and all from a breezy and cloudy Lancashire coast.
Day trips are great Mick, I take coach trips regularly this way and tell myself that if I have ten day trips through the summer, it’s practically the same as a ten day holiday away, without the bother!
Sister arriving from the south today, so messing about with chops and veg, I don’t cook much these days. Also a tidy up…
Just started a book by author new to me, Angela Thirkell, 1930s and very light. Too many characters to remember at the moment, but enjoyable.
Thoughts to harrigran and hope you all have a good day.

Morning all from a wet West Yorks.Trip into Leeds today to return items purchased 2wks ago and a general smooch about looking for presents.Yesterday met up with old friend and neighbour for lunch had a lovely afternoon and by sheer luck bumped into DS,DIL DGC.We have watched our childrens lives for over 40 yrs so it was lovely for her to meet them.A very different weekend for us as both DSs and families away. Pity the weather forecast not good though.
Thoughts to those with illness and worry.Take care, safe weekend.

Good morning all, SW Herts is grim today, heavy rain, always happens when we have friends coming round and hoping to sit outside with them.

Lovely photos Gelis, shame about the weather for you. Harri and Mary hope you get a good rest and feel better later on. Loved the photo Ash, in your element, even if sideways! ? GGFrench have sent you a PM.

I have a conference call with the committee at 10.30 about the conference we are running in October, then will make a cake for the visitors coming later. Enjoy your day everyone, and take care.

Blossoming Fri 30-Jul-21 10:06:29

Good morning all from grey soggy Lancashire. It seems to have been raining nonstop since yesterday. I’m off to the hairdresser today, will have to warn her about my bumps and bruises. I had a nasty fall some days ago, banged my head hard against a door as I went over backwards. Not good with an existing brain injury and an untreated cerebral aneurysm. I was seeing stars and double vision but that’s all cleared now. Left with a tender lump on the back of my head and some spectacular bruises on my back and bottom! I’m finding looking at screens hard work so have been dropping in at intervals. Stay safe all.

Good morning,

Greyduster has the forecast for our part of the world spot on, and it looks set for the day.

Have a safe trip and nice break, too, Greyduster - hope the weather brightens up.

To all with troubles, illness and worries, I hope today is easier for you.

Good for you mick for booking some day trips out.

Well I'd better stir myself and get some jobs done.

Take care.

Morning everyone. Weather undecided here in Scottish Borders. I hope today gets better*Harrigran*. Gingster I have read the Margaret Atwood book you mentioned. I thought it was beautifully written and superb. Marydoll have an easy day. Have made rye bread and sitting on sofa with Ddog as I browse. Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning Mick and all who have and will follow, a wet and chilly morning in The Vale of The White Horse, love all the photos on here this morning, but so sorry for those who aren’t feeling so chipper.
Today is a cleaning day, we were going to go down to Calshot for the day as clear weather was forecast, we could both do with a blow through in the fresh air, but it’s too wet to spend time getting there and then rushing home because we are soaked. Sigh…..
Anyway, the potting shed that was delivered before all of our plans were thrown into the air should be erected tomorrow, then we can clear out the old shed and get it plastered ready for it to be transformed into a ‘haven’ it has electricity and wifi so not too much more to do. Heaven knows what we will use it for, we are like 2 beans in a can as it is, maybe the GCs will sleep out there. Anyway, hope everyone manages to have a good day with some smiles now and then.

Good Morning all from wet and miserable Harrogate
Took DH to hospital this am
I had hoped he would let me know what time approx his procedure will take place - could be anytime from 8.30 am - 7pm.
Oh Harrigran I'm so sorry your DH is having such a bad reaction to Chemo. Hope your sickness passes quickly too, Marydoll
Lovely photos Ash and Alizarin.
I shall have to take the dog out now, not looking forward to it, not sure my legs will last out the walk!!

Have a good day all.

Gelisajams Fri 30-Jul-21 08:59:32

Good morning from Shetland where it’s still quite cloudy and cool though not as foggy as yesterday. Shetland is beautiful when the sun shines and the blue sky reflects on the water. It’s a good job we don’t come here for the weather. Yesterday we walked to a deserted fishing station- a lovely long walk on a clear day. We kept hoping the fog would lift as it can in minutes here, but no it wasn’t to be. We had to rely on our memory for what the views were!
The photos are of Mr G sat in a noose, a small hollowed out area in which the boats were kept, and a friendly seal which was watching us eat out lunch.
On the way back we passed the strangest old sheep! She was not a bit timid and stood posing while I took a photo.
We are off walking shortly. I do hope the sun comes out!
Hope things improve quickly for MrH he’s certainly going through the mill.
Take care and stay safe everyone. ?

Good morning, Mick and all from a drizzly cool Carlisle.
I'm stopping in today, finishing off the week's housework and doing the ironing. It looks like no gardening either due to the rain plus my researches have decided me to get a different type of spade more designed to deal with hard stony ground so it will be back to the DIY store, maybe tomorrow . What I'd really like is some human muscle with a big rotovator. I might have another try for that after the holiday period.
My thoughts are with you Harrigran and poor MrH, I hope he feels better soon and that you can get some rest. And you too Marydoll, hope you are soon on your feet again.
A best possible day to everyone .

Gingster Fri 30-Jul-21 08:55:13

Good morning from a wet Suffolk coast.
The family have left now and although the weather wasn’t wonderful, they did everything they wanted to.
I taught the girls (12 a d 14) and their mum to crochet. I was impressed with their progress.
We miss them now they’re gone but they will be back weekend after next with the rest of the family. ?.

I had my book club meeting last evening and we sat out on the beach. Beautiful - warm and calm. Next book The Testaments by Margaret Atwood. Anyone read it?

Harrigran - so draining for you and your dh. Try to catch a nap and look after yourself ?.

Ash - you look great ?.

Alizirin lovely pic. ?.

Have a good day, everyone ?

ginny Fri 30-Jul-21 08:36:01

Good Morning from a very wet Aldeburgh.
We had a lovely day on the beach yesterday.
Today is DD3s birthday and DGS2 is very excited. He thought carefully about her gift and made a lovely flowery card. We will be out to lunch and then see how the day pans out.
harigran ? for you and MrH
Hope you all find a smile today.

Jaxjacky Fri 30-Jul-21 08:35:05

Greyduster safe journey and enjoy your break, I remember having a mini like that, rusting floor.
Happy Anniversary muse ????.

Good morning all from an overcast and wet start to the day here on the east coast of Fife. I heard a rumble of thunder during my slumbers but then I kept on slumbering my dh didn’t hear a thing saying he was sleeping.I think his ears mustn’t be working too great but that’s not unusual for him wink Friday at long last, fingers crossed I’ve gained my walking confidence back after my recent near fainting event in the searing heat which scared the daylights out of me.

Otherwise it’ll be a second bed rest day. I think bed rest just makes me more tired would that be correct?. There’s nothing much on today except maybe to sit or lounge in the conservatory listening to the rain pelting down. Eating and drinking (coffee that is) It’s great fun except when you’re on the phone and you can’t hear a blooming thing hey ho.

Have a lovely Friday everyone stay safe and dry lots of hugs to you all flowers

Grandmabatty Fri 30-Jul-21 08:17:48

Good morning all. Polmont is grey and so is my mood! I've had a couple of very grumpy days so I'm going to love you and leave you for a few days til normal service is resumed. Take care all.

baubles Fri 30-Jul-21 08:11:00

Good morning Mick, morning all from a grey and gloomy South Lanarkshire.

Love that photo Alizarin and your costume is great Ashcombe.

Harri flowers hope you both get some rest today. Thinking of you too Marydoll.

Charity shop day for me, I wonder if there are any treasures waiting to be discovered in the stock room shelves. Last week I polished up a load of silver plated goblets, I hope they’ve been sold.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day whatever you are doing.

Grandmajean Fri 30-Jul-21 08:09:46

Sorry you missed your appointment muse but how caring to focus on the victims of the accident. Hope all goes to plan next week.

Greyduster Fri 30-Jul-21 08:09:36

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s grey and wet in South Yorkshire and we will be packing the car shortly to head off up the Great North Road (as my father was fond of calling it). Not a good day for travelling but we’ve done journeys in worse weather in far worse cars (thinks leaky Minis with dodgy windscreen wipers!). I hope to report back from our destination during the week.
Harri? hope you and your DH have a better day and some rest.
Take care one and all.

Alizarin Fri 30-Jul-21 08:01:39

Love your photo Ash.

Scentia Fri 30-Jul-21 08:00:42

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where the sun is out now EBay to rained all night.
I went over on Nanna duties yesterday snd DSiL was home, I said it will show how much he likes me if he comes out for a walk with us, well he obviously doesn’t, he said no. He seemed quite awkward that I was around without DD there so I won’t be doing that again?
harri. I do hope you manage a rest this afternoon and your DH improves.
I love the photo Ash
Here’s hoping this sunshine hangs around so DH gets to enjoy his day off. Take care everyone and smile if you can.?

muse Fri 30-Jul-21 07:58:43

Good morning Mick and all Morningsters
Thank you for the lovely messages yesterday for my hospital appointment. We set off to then have to turn back home. There was such a terrible accident on A30 in Cornwall 10 mins from where we live and police closed the road both ways. That’s the road we needed for the hospital. I felt so sorry for all those involved and those stuck there. The volume of traffic is so high at the moment. Peak of the season plus the roads were wet.

I’m booked for the operation at next Thursday’s clinic.

I’m off for my teeth to be checked this morning and MrM has his doctor’s appointment for his legs this afternoon. He’s is still struggling.

Finally tonight we will celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. I’m ordering us a takeaway from the village pub.

I’ll check out everyone’s news on my return from the dentist.

Hope you all have a very safe day.
????????

Jaxjacky Fri 30-Jul-21 07:58:38

Good morning Mick and all from a rainy S Hants.
Harri May your day improve for MrH and yourself, a nap sounds good.
Lovely pictures Ash and Alizarin.
DD felt better yesterday so all three are in Bude, Imogen has a surfing lesson at 8am, hope the storm doesn’t halt it. I’m surprised she’s allowed, but consultant said it’s ok. They’ll visit the Eden project too over their short stay.
Our boiler being serviced this morning, makes me think of Autumn. I’ll be off to the farm shop later.
brook enjoy St Andrews, not an area I know at all.
Have a safe, lovely day all.
