Good Morning Everyone,
Its a cloudy and wet start here in Brackley this morning , my plans are to shop early .
I am in two minds whether to stay home and get a Fish & Chip takeaway , or get the bus to Bicester and have a couple of hours there and go to Sainsburys cafe and have Fish & Chips there , followed by a beer or two , or maybe a coffee before coming home .
Yesterday , with coach trips starting up again , have decided on a day trip a week Saturday to Windsor , its only £19 door to door on the coach .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Friday
(51 Posts)Good morning Mick and all to follow from north Surrey. I can see some blue sky but some rain overnight.
Yesterday didn’t quite go to plan as DGD2 has vomiting bug so they stayed away. Instead we took the boys on a walk and picnic from village where DH lived for 50 years, south Bucks near the Thames. Treated them to an ice cream after from a rather lovely ice cream parlour.
I am leaving DH in charge of the boys today as I am off for girls day out with friends on edge of the Cotswolds. Two of us are having a swim but will be mostly chat.
Wishing all a good day
Good morning Michael and all to follow.
It is overcast but dry here in the NE
Awake at 5am again as DH very sick after his chemotherapy.
It is going to be a long day but may manage an afternoon nap.
There are some storms around. Take care.
Good morning from an almost autumnal south Cornwall, windy and wet. Suits me, though! Mick, sounds like a lovely coach trip. I'd go to Sainsbury's today plus beers without a doubt! I've been back to Wetherspoons again this week for coffee. It has a nice feel here and my friends and I have missed it.
A lovely quiet time in the art library yesterday, but in the Art School here not Penzance, as I discovered their shop was open and I needed more plaster bandage. Today I'm going to repeat the sojourn but at our University, which is only a short bus ride away.
The pic is from the town beach where I beachcomb. You can see the variant in the height of the tide by the seaweed hanging on the mooring ropes.
Have the best day you can.
harrigran

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It has rained overnight and is dull.
Weekly food shop, then back home and do some reading and maybe crafting this afternoon.
I hope you’ll be able to catch up on some sleep harrigran. I couldn’t quite get my head around the meds to keep my DH alive made him so poorly.
Sounds like there are some nice trips out in the offing.
Enjoy your day all ?
Good morning, everyone, from a windy Torbay.
Your poor DH, harrigran! I hope the sickness eases and you both have a restful day. Also, I trust Marydoll has recovered from her hospital visit.
My Brixham Museum stint yesterday went well with some delightful visitors, including my DS and DGS3 turning up as they are staying nearby with my ex-husband. My DGS, normally very confident, was rather overwhelmed by seeing me in Victorian garb! For those who asked yesterday, I’m not a wealthy enough character to afford dresses or the accompanying stays (luckily!), but I wear a prim blouse with cameo brooch, floor length skirt, shawl and mop cap. (see photo of Priscilla Shrives in her parlour)
I’m seeing my DS and DGS again today before they travel home this evening. We hope to use the funicular railway to the nearest beach then have lunch at my favourite local hostelry: The Buccaneer.
Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re planning. ?
Good morning from a wet Essex by the sea. Hopefully the weather will improve as the day goes on.
DH arrived home just after 5 yesterday, he was very tired as their days on the boat start very early.
We are off to B&Q this morning, then the supermarket and then to fill up the car.
We may go for a drink at the newly opened bar at the yacht club this evening.
Hope you get your afternoon nap Harri and I hope your DH feels better soon.
Have a pleasant Friday everyone xx
Morning all! First of all ?for harrigran. I wish you double whacks of fortitude at this difficult time. Mick, your trip to Windsor sounds just the ticker. I've always found it such a clean, majestic and welcoming place. Fish and chips would ice the cake. I had a decidedly successful day yesterday. Did a large ironing and then a friend called unexpectedly. Lovely surprise. We've fixed another get together next week. I also had a workman call to inspect a job he is about to do for me. More progress. I like all the little bits and pieces sorted out before winter attacks the house. Don't know what today has in store but that's all part of the joy. Have a good one everybody.
Good Morning everyone from a hot and sunny place which had the cheek to wake me with an isolated thunderclap at around 5am !
Lovel atmospheric photo, Ali . Beautiful spot! . Hope the day improves, Harri. Your poor DH -life’s not fair. ?. Enjoy a break, Dwmx.
I’m off now to have a blood test. Then back to complete prep for our lunch with friends here. I know we’ll have such fun, but how I’d love it if the ‘beautiful pea green boat people’ and the Learjet brigade had been able to appear from the UK ?. Never mind, we’ll look to the future…and B9 perhaps let me know when you’re coming South?
Feel better all those poorly or sad today. Have fun - with some sun - if you have plans. Just enjoy it all.
??????????? and ?????♀️
You look super, Ash. Is that a glimpse of the past or a glimpse into the future, I wonder? ?
For the avoidance of doubt, I wasn’t having a lie down as the photo might suggest! No idea why it has appeared like that!
Super photo, artistically captured, Alizarin. !
Thank you, Grandmafrench! Another volunteer took it, using my phone but when I looked later, he’d made a short video! I couldn’t edit it to capture one frame so took a photo of it using my iPad. In my haste to publish, I failed to crop the non-essential details!!
Morning Mick and all
Back home from Buckinghamshire BiL’s funeral went well, (as these things can). I think it is finally sinking in that the gentle man that he was is no more.
Grey and damp here in S E Essex, we have The Imp and his brother today, will
See what the weather does before we decide our plan.
Keep safe and well folks ??♀️
Good morning Mick and All.
A cloudy day here in South Bucks.
Both Alizarin and Ascombe’s photos are excellent ??
Must get my waterproof trousers out as we are going to an outdoor performance of ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ this evening. We are due rain all day and it should stop half an hour into the performance, this won’t put is off as we are practised at sitting in the rain, usually sitting in a bin bag each whilst eating our picnic. ????????
Harrigran so sorry for your DH ?
Good morning from Durham - overcast and still. Expecting my garden chaps at 9am, but I’m frustrated at the slow progress - rising prices and a shortage of raw materials means he can’t give me a price or date for starting work on the hard landscaping.
I was meeting my oldest friend this morning, but she text last night that the Hospital sent for her as her Mother is very ill and not expected to live long. She’ll have mixed emotions after a massive family fallout a few years ago.
?Harri - hope your day improves.
Make the most of your day, these weeks seem to fly by. X
Morning all. Wet here in Cheshire.
I do hope your DH improves today harrigranI have been in a similar situation as my daughter had chemotherapy for breast cancer and the sickness is awful. You feel so helpless.
Have a lovely dayDWM
Looking good Ash
Am avoiding texting son holidaying in Rannoch until later as there seemed to be a crazy plan to cycle round the loch ( 26 miles) before breakfast ! Don't want to know until he is back. Might check weather there as rain would put him off. They drive home tomorrow.
Hope a bit if sunshine brightens your day !
Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester. What a difference from yesterday.
I am getting a haircut this morning, so hope there's a break in the rain for the short walk there and back.
Love to all x
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey start to the day. Your coach trip to Windsor sounds good mick definitely something to look forward to. Love the photo Alizarin thank you!
Hope you get some rest today harrigran ? for you
Today we’re off for our weekend break to St Andrews, we’re staying just outside the town in a little Airbnb cottage so we can do our own thing and come and go as we please. The weather forecast isn’t great but we’re still looking forward to exploring somewhere new. If the weather is ok we’ll maybe do some walking on the Fife coastal path too, I definitely know that feeling nankate of a wet picnic - we’ve done many of those!
What a great picture Ash I love the costume, such a worthwhile and interesting activity to be involved in
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning from a very wet Welsh coast, no dog walk for Mr Lins this morning. He is going to an NT property to meet some friends for coffee, he was going to take the dog as there is a lovely terrace to sit on but too wet for that sadly.
Good photos Alizarin and Ash very atmospheric.
I hope your DH's sickness lessens harrigran.
Ironing and I need to ring the butcher this morning, nothing else p!anned.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day.
Just had a text from DS. He is halfway round the b- loch !
Good morning from a drizzly Black Country.
DD and family are coming home today from their week in Wales. Judging from photo's she sent me they have had a lovely time. DGD says she is definitely going again next year. I hope Mum and Dad know this
Had lunch with Mum yesterday, then a mooch around a charity shop where I bought a Principles Top for £2.49! Looks like it was hardly worn. And a Jack Jones sweatshirt for a similar sum.
Meeting up with a friend today for coffee and brunch in a local garden centre.
Lovely photo Ashcombe you look the part!
Hoping Marydoll is ok, and special thoughts to our missing posters, especially EV and Gilly
Morning Mick, morning All from a wet and very windy corner of Somerset.
The garden was tidied yesterday morning, looked lovely, sadly the overnight wind has had other thoughts. Family visiting today, the challenge will be keeping a six year old mini typhoon entertained, he will be desperate to go to the beach as he’s been looking forward to it for days. . Not sure he wouldn’t blow away. It will be wonderful to see them no matter what. Anyone travelling South on the M5 please take care.
Rest when you can harri, hope your husband improves during the day. We’re having similar frustrations with replacement internal doors georgesgran, it’s got to the point I’m tempted to simply give up. Enjoy your evening NanKate, with luck the forecast is wrong and bin bags won’t be needed.
Take care everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all.
Good morning and it’s a drizzly one here.
My market trip yesterday was a tad disappointing. My only purchase was a bargain of a top for £1 on a sale rail in one of the charity shops. Even the many independent coffee shops there seemed to have dwindled and due to getting a table where I could I ended up in Costa. I have to say though that the staff in there were very friendly much more than the one here. I remembered I had 2 parcels arriving so I didn’t hang about. On arriving home they had both been delivered in my safe place. One of them was a ‘C’ present for dgs that I ordered when QVC were found Christmas in July. I was unsure whether to go for it or not but researched it online and even DH thought it was a good idea. So one present sorted! It does need 7 batteries so I warned ds!
Today I really need to catch up on housework chores and an due to meet ds for coffee in his lunch break. If we end up going to Sainsbury’s cafe nearest to his work I will do a small shop too.
ashcombe a lovely photo and nice to “see you”
harrigran hope things improve
Have a good day all
Good morning from a damp Northampton; I believe rain is forecast later, but as I have no outdoor plans for the day it doesn't really matter.
Will just be pottering today, and later on make a curry for tonight's dinner.
Had a lovely evening Health walk yesterday, followed by dinner and a drink at the pub. With restrictions being lifted we thought the pub might be rather busy, but it was surprisingly quiet. I enjoyed a jacket potato with a smoky bean chilli, which was delicious.
Wishing all a good day.
