Harry’s juggling balls!

Meghan is doing her serious promotion of her new ‘give 40 minutes’ chat and Harry is in the background juggling (or attempting to) and causing a disruption to the proceedings. I’m baffled as to why. Perhaps he’s getting over the saving the world claptrap and decided to take the p**s, or perhaps he just wanted attention like a child. It’s just so bizarre, or is it just me being a grumpy old bat?

What is wrong with people for heavens sake? It seems they can’t do anything right - she’s launching a well meaning campaign and they had a bit of fun with it. A bit like tv charity shows. I don’t understand the negativity around this lovely couple.

Ellianne Thu 05-Aug-21 12:40:44

I'm the last person to be negative, this is actually fun!

Alegrias1 Thu 05-Aug-21 12:52:54

Yes, of course, because they are not real people, are they?

You can call them stupid and childish and smug and say there's something wrong with them, because it doesn't really count, does it? It doesn't make you cruel and unkind, like it would if you were talking about real people.

eazybee Thu 05-Aug-21 12:53:38

'this lovely couple' ?

Alegrias1 Thu 05-Aug-21 12:54:23

You think they are evil incarnate, some think they are a lovely couple.

Still a free country, last time I looked.

eazybee Thu 05-Aug-21 12:59:30

Which is why I am able to question other people's statements.

Alegrias1 Thu 05-Aug-21 13:03:14

...and why some of us think its very odd indeed to have so much antipathy to a pair of people you've never met.

Interestingly no sign of that smug smirk I dislike.

So why mention it !?

Because elsewhere I have criticised her for it whilst noticing previous photos of her show her with a normal smile. No sign of the smug smile so it obviously depends on certain circumstances such as putting the RF down.

awww Ellianne, is it a puppy?

Deviation: is that a fox red lab looking so cute?

eazybee Thu 05-Aug-21 13:17:04

I never met Hitler nor Henry VIII, but I have strong opinions about them based on their actions.

JaneJudge Thu 05-Aug-21 13:18:43

I wondered how long it would be before someone mentioned Hitler

Alegrias1 Thu 05-Aug-21 13:19:36

For all their faults, I think comparing M&H to Hitler and Henry VIII is a new low.

???

Alegrias1 Thu 05-Aug-21 13:21:58

Shall we have a thread about how bad Henry VIII was? I'm watching The Spanish Princess at the moment. He's just started to go a bit mad, no heir and all that.

I’d rather not meet two people who make an industry out of trashing the feelings and reputations of family members.

Alegrias1 Thu 05-Aug-21 13:24:41

QED :-)

Thread after thread after thread.

I'm serious, I can understand why they are unpopular and that they keep doing daft things, but thread, after thread, after thread. I know, I don't have to read them hmm

Come on Alegrias it’s a (temporary) respite from Brexit/ Boris/ the imperfect subjunctive ?

Ellianne Thu 05-Aug-21 13:31:00

Thank you. He is a golden retriever pup with a lovely temperament. 9 weeks old, just a baby, so garden visits throughout the night, but luckily no feeds!
So as not to derail the thread, I'd better confess his name is Henry but I won't be calling him Harry. Even though he is red haired!

Anniebach Thu 05-Aug-21 13:40:22

The Oprah interview was not a daft thing, it was a money making attack on a family.

maddyone Thu 05-Aug-21 13:49:51

I don’t think eazybee was comparing Harry and Meghan to Hitler or Henry V111. I think she was saying it’s possible to have negative or indeed positive feeling about people we’ve never met. Indeed many on these royal threads express great positivity about the Queen, due to her dedication to the job, but they’ve never met her. I definitely think we can form opinions on others who we have never met, and only know through the media, based on their behaviour. We can form either positive or negative responses based on what we know of them.

Alegrias1 Thu 05-Aug-21 13:49:58

I don't think so Mawbe, honestly. I'm not trying to be argumentative here, but it does make we wonder about the people who write such things about anybody whose actions they disapprove of. I mean its not like they have committed crimes against humanity, or started a war. They are seen as being hurtful to a family who some think are beyond reproach and that is taken as carte blanche to say anything we like about them, really unfair, unfounded slurs and insults, time and time again. It's weird.

Anyway, back to the Brexit thread for me wink

MawBe Thu 05-Aug-21 13:51:05

For me ????

Alegrias1 Thu 05-Aug-21 13:52:26

Why do people take the time to come on a thread to tell us how bored they are with it?
