I once referred to myself as a spinster of the parish to an English bloke abroad. He thought it was hilarious.

Snog. Kissing should be gentle and romantic. Thee can be nothing romantic about a snog.

And 'cute'. Especially on Facebook.

I agree Marydoll- I do not understand why the word "died" cannot be used because if somebody has passed- passed where?

I tend to use the phrase 'passed away' though not 'passed'.

Do those who dislike 'passed' feel that 'passed away' is the same, or is that more acceptable.

I don't like using the word for which 'passed away' is a euphemism, so I use 'passed away'.

Swill - when used to mean have a wash. As in 'I'll have a quick swill before I go out.'

I very much dislike the word pregnant. It seems such an ugly word for something so incredible.

i live in glasgow, i hate when a man refers to me as hen or doll, i don't mind the sweetheart or darling (one i use), they are not so keen when i say it back.

I've said it before, but 'Uni' makes my teeth itch.

I also find 'purchased' instead of 'bought' unreasonably annoying. It's just so pompous, particularly when it's said about a bar of chocolate or something.
