All good friends and jolly good company.

Good morning to the kitchen! There’s a lemon drizzle cake on the table for elevenses.
We had a lovely lunch out with good friends yesterday and we have arranged a couple of days away in Kent next month. That will culminate in lunch at our daughter’s on the way home. Today we are meeting DS and family for lunch - another day without cooking!
This week I really need to get on in the garden. The hedge needs cutting and it’s time to start clearing the bean canes etc. There’s always something to do!
I hope you all have a great Sunday. Welcome back Muse!

Such a very late posting from me, I have usually been in bed for ages.
I went to a friend’s house for a Chinese takeaway and we shared a bottle of wine.
It was such a treat and we set the world to rights, at least to our satisfaction.
A short taxi ride home and I am getting ready for bed, my GD is out with friends so I am on my own.
A very good night to you all and special wishes to corner for a pain free and settled night and hopefully home tomorrow.

Such a shame about your other cat Suedonim. Pets miss their siblings/other pets like we do.

SueDonim Sat 11-Sept-21 21:54:32

He’s a Russian Blue pedigree, Doodle. We got him and his brother as rescue cats from CPL about five years ago. Sadly, his brother died in June. sad He was the dominant cat and this one was so lost without his brother to make all the decisions for him. Now, this boy has gone blind, for no reason the vet can discern. He manages ok but doesn’t venture far from us. They were indoor cats anyway but now he likes to be within feet of us - or under our feet! grin

Lovely hair blossoming nice cut. Looks very stylish.
Hello Muse nice to hear from you, sorry to hear MrM has a leg ulcer. Hope it gets dealt with soon and isn’t causing him too much pain.
Oh yes, cake please. Any kind will do for me ?
corner good news that you may be home soon. Hope MrC is well rested and ready to wait on you hand and foot.
Oh cake already. Thank you daisytwoshoes
Sorry to hear your DD will miss her sisters wedding bladeannie such a shame. Hope all goes well otherwise.
What a very sleek and elegant cat suedonim I would have thought a velvet cushion was more in order ?
Baggs a cafe in a converted Public toilet is an unusual idea hmm Glad you enjoyed your day out with baubles and friend. Interesting photos. I love the seat.
? Cooee Urms been quite warm here today so I am not too envious. ?
Hope everyone is ok TOYA ?

brook2704 Sat 11-Sept-21 20:46:08

So lovely you’ve had a great day out baggs baubles and a n other! Love the photos … I haven’t been to Glasgow botanics or Kelvingrove yet but I’ll add them to my ever growing places to go list - thank you!

Hellogirl1 Sat 11-Sept-21 20:43:17

2 beautiful felines today. That Duncan certainly knows how to relax!
Baggs, that sounds like a great day out. Love that bench.

Urmstongran Sat 11-Sept-21 20:37:52

‘Evening All’.

A very relaxed one here in Malaga. Warm but thankfully not humid. September has arrived! 9:30pm here and it’s dark. Yet peaceful sat up here on our small balcony. We’ve eaten. Himself is washing up. 2 pasta bowls and a pan.
?

He was delighted with the 4-1 score for Man. Utd. this afternoon, especially as Ronaldo scored 2 on his debut return.

I’m reading (and messing about on here, as you do). We were just saying earlier how very fortunate we are. We do count our blessings.

Welcome back muse. ?
Now we just await the return of GrandmaFrench in this lovely kitchen - she of the inclusive and very humorous postings. I ♥️ to hear tales from French France!!

Jaxjacky Sat 11-Sept-21 20:24:07

Sorry BA Son in law, same sentiments apply x

Jaxjacky Sat 11-Sept-21 20:21:17

Surely a ‘Gran day out’ Baggs! Sounds flipping marvellous.

Baggs Sat 11-Sept-21 20:12:49

That should be "tripla"!!

Baggs Sat 11-Sept-21 20:12:23

Coupla photos: a yarn-bombed bench, Mr Kelvin with a Glasgow 'crown', and a face-in-a-fungus at the bottom of an old tree in the botanical gardens.

Hello Soop Kitcheners! I've had a lovely wander today around Glasgow Botanics and Kelvingrove with another gransnetter (baubles ?) and A.N.Other Gran who isn't a gransnetter. We discovered a lovely wee cafe which is using a converted old public toilet building to good effect as a good (as in basic but properly nutritious) street cafe with outdoor seating on its roof and beside the street but off the pavement. It's called The Bodach, which is a Scots Gaelic word for an old man or 'churl'. The owner is not one of those, I hasten to add ?.

A.N.Other Gran and I, who live just two fields apart in our neck of the woods, had had regular walks with baubles in pre-pandemic times, but have not seen her since late 2018 or early 2019 because of 'stuff happening" and then the pandemic, so it was just lovely. Big hugs, lots of chatter and a great feeling of normality returning slowly but surely (let it last!). In short a Grand Day Out.

I hope more and more gransnetters can have similar days with friends and family as we gradually get used to "living with" with this blasted virus as best we can. TOYA xx

Grandmabatty Sat 11-Sept-21 19:35:26

Good evening Kitcheners. BladeAnnie that's so disappointing for both your daughters and you. It is unfortunately a sign of the times that we are living in. Lots of lovely photos today. Whoever offered cake, I will be up for that. I think it was Daisytwoshoes?
I am babysitting for the boy wonder tonight. It was my lovely sil's thirtieth birthday yesterday and dd has organised a meal with his close friends and their wives, the culmination of a week of birthday surprises. I'm making the most of their sky box as I don't have sky. It won't be a late night I hope. Enjoy your evening all.

Jaxjacky Sat 11-Sept-21 19:24:30

cornergran progress being made, well done ?home tomorrow, chill winds at Weston noted, maybe packing shorts is a tad optimistic! Yia I might start tomorrow, got to bagsy case space before MrJ with his numerous shirts and golf gear! It’s odd, we’ve not been away for a year, I’m normally a dab hand at suspending the house and packing, I keep remembering things.
Well that’s a bloody inconvenience BladeAnnie, hoping DIL is hardly poorly at all, can you FaceTime her?
Thank you brook it is a favourite picture, until the next one!
Dinner is on the way, glasses are charged, we’ll watch something, possibly Gardeners World until the tennis.
Have a pleasant and hopefully celebratory evening all. Thoughts always with panache x

SueDonim Sat 11-Sept-21 19:13:49

Oh no re the wedding, BladeAnnie! sad. I think my dd1 would have cancelled her wedding if her sister couldn’t have gone. As it is, my son-in-law is resigned to the fact that his wife’s sister now has her own bedroom in their house, even though she doesn’t live there. ?

Great to be going home, Cornergran. Your own bed. Bliss.

The trip to the dump - sorry, recycling centre - and charity shops was a mission and a half this afternoon. Nowhere seems to take textiles such as curtains and bed linen (sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers) so they have to go to landfill. One shop didn’t take books or children’s clothes (not that I had any), another took books but not toys or kitchen items. A third wasn’t taking anything at all. It was most vexing.

I ended up having to book a second trip to the dump to get rid of what the shops wouldn’t take. sad I feel guilty about not having to landfill stuff, but I don’t make the rules, so what else can I do? confused

I hope you all have a pleasant evening. Here’s a photo of my boy, having a nap in his second favourite box.

TillyTrotter Sat 11-Sept-21 18:51:11

Good to see you muse,
and lovely to see sweet Duncan chilling as usual.
BladeAnnie I think you will need to take a leaf out of his book. You are having many trials and tribulations and it’s should be a time of joy for your Dd’s wedding.
I hope the day goes well despite part of your family needing to isolate at home. ?
Enjoy Emma’s match soop . And to all : Have a very good evening.

brook2704 Sat 11-Sept-21 18:02:05

Love the picture of Finley jax!

brook2704 Sat 11-Sept-21 17:44:34

Lovely to see you in the kitchen today muse and hoping grandmafrench will be back with us soon
Thank you for the cake daisytwoshoes just what’s needed ?
Such a shame BA about your DD1 - blummin awful timing but sadly there’s nothing you can do ? she’s going to be so disappointed I bet

I’m just in from the garden, it’s been grey, misty and rotten weather all day today but we’ve still been busy outside clearing and tidying up. A warm meal and a glass of wine beckon tonight I think
Well done with your garage clear out SueDonim it’s always a good feeling when that’s done - our garage and shed clear outs are next on our to do list!

Daisytwoshoes Sat 11-Sept-21 17:23:37

Thank you blossoming and grandmabatty

Grandmabatty Sat 11-Sept-21 16:56:58

Daisytwoshoes you put a * right before the name and a * right after the name. Don't leave any spaces between the * and the name

Blossoming Sat 11-Sept-21 16:56:30

* Daisytwoshoes *

Typed as above, but with no spaces, gives this - Daisytwoshoes

Daisytwoshoes Sat 11-Sept-21 16:44:34

Please can someone tell me.
How do I make the names of people appear in bold lettering
I’m fairly new on here
