Sorry you’re having yet more stress BAnnie, hope you have a relaxing evening. I’m sure you’ll look knockout on Tuesday x
Good Morning Thursday 30th April 2026
Here we are yet again,
Happy as we can be...
All good friends and jolly good company.
WELCOME to our very own kitchen in which we celebrate happy occasions and support each other through the difficult times.

Sorry you’re having yet more stress BAnnie, hope you have a relaxing evening. I’m sure you’ll look knockout on Tuesday x
Good afternoon dear kitcheners - and I apologise for my absence over the past few days. Work stress, unwell mother, upcoming wedding and now SiL has tested positive for covid, so DD1 won't be able to attend the wedding of her only sister ??. Blossoming I love your hair. Hope the hairdresser can make me look as good as you on Tuesday ?. M&S pizza and garlic mushrooms on the menu tonight ??. Greetings to you all from Duncan and hope you enjoy the rest of your Saturday
Wonderful news today Cornergran. GG13 I love that dress! No fastenings to faff about with, cool and comfy, and can dress up or down. It’s been perfect on hot days.
Lovely to have you back Muse we just need Grandmafrench now.
Like the hair Blossoming it makes you feel so much better when you have a good cut.
We had a wonderful Italian meal last night and the wine went down really well, sadly back on the meds today☹️
That’s good news Cornergran no place like home.
Get on with that packing Jax and have a brillant holiday.
We have been planning a few home improvements as we have a big celebration in November with family and friends staying.Love the planning not so much the work even though DH does most of it.
Have a good sunny Saturday everyone.
The sky has cleared and the sun is shining. The sea is a deep teal green.
I have a wee pile of ironing to do. May even flick a duster over the furniture. Nothing too strenuous.
Thank you all for your company. Enjoy your evening. I have every intention of joining you in the kitchen sometime tomorrow.

What super progress you are making corner keep it up.
I was allowed home on 3 also, it seems to be standard.
I hope the pain relief is good and your blood pressure behaves.
Thank you for mentioning that the tennis final was to be shown tonight. I had no idea. I am buzzin'. We shall be rooting for the amazing Emma. That young lady is fearless.
Happy news for you, corner. There is no place like home. You will feel amazing when you wake up surrounded by all your familiar treasures the best being *Mr C*.
Hello everyone. What a difference a day and a good nights sleep make. BP still lowish which I know would make some folk envious. It is stable, I’m far less dizzy so allowed out to wander the corridor with two sticks. No longer zimmer-woman
. . Feel so much better. Minimal pain relief today. Confirmed I can go home tomorrow. Mr C says he’s delighted. My view is he may change his mind quite quickly
.
Jax in my experience Weston is always fresh, there’s a tendency for it to be windy. Prepared to be braced
.
Take care everyone. Thanks again for the good wishes.
Lovely hair blossoming (I have that dress)
Welcome back muse ??. No, not packed, I’m a last minute chuck it in a case type, but I do have a ‘list’, most important! I’ll await your pictures later.
Washing outside; the machine was making a clanking noise earlier in the week, now MrJ is here it’s quiet as a mouse, it’s less than a year old, so should be fine. Dropped some greenhouse veg to DD, of course it’s all producing now we’re going to be away. It is fresher Blossoming, not too fresh in Weston please.
I think the drinks allowance may be exceeded watching Raducanu later. ttfn.
Hellogirl1 Your David is greeted at least once each week.
If I had the real Mini Cooper convertible I would take you for a spin around Kintyre.
Beautiful hairstyle, Blossoming. You look amazing.
WELCOME back, muse. Please do not vanish for days on end again.
Call to Grandmafrench - us lot continue to wait as patiently as possible for your return.
Thank you for all the kind comments dear Kitcheners. I’m not vain (honestly!) but when my hair is good it gives me a real lift.
Good to see you back in the kitchen Muse you are always such a busy bee! Sorry that Mr. M has a leg ulcer, they can be so painful! Hope he gets the correct treatment and is soon on the mend.
I had a restless night, as it turned hot and thundery, so had a lie in this morning. It must have rained in the night, as it is much fresher and colder today. Cloudy with the sun peeking out occasionally. Second lot of laundry in, then time to relax.
TOYA
I've used up your hugs soop so back for more ?
The sun here in Cornwall is doing it's best to keep me outside so I'm sat with a coffee. Just done Mya's daily ear wash. Instruction from the vet yesterday was to do a good wiggle with the cotton pad after the wash. Wiggle done. We shall walk soon. Just ordered a new pair of boots as my waterproof walking ones have decided to become non-waterproof.
A week ago, I would have said progress with MrM's infected bites was going well. Two have healed almost completely as no dressings are needed. The last, stubborn one, improved slightly but it is now classified as an ulcer and had to have a deep clean last Thursday. He awaits a Doppler ultrasound test to check the circulation in his leg. Looks like a compression support will be needed.
The wildlife around us always throws up surprises. For just over a week we have a MsToad almost in residence in the cottage. She lives behind the boot grate outside our one and only door. Every night she is out on the slab in front of the door to say goodnight. Like Benjy bat she needs a name. Mr.M says she is a she because of size. Two nights ago there was a toadlet close to her. I'd like to think she has an honourable mate some where so perhaps I should call her MrsToad.
I'm wondering if they have you out of bed today Cornergran but hope you had a quieter night.
#rebelgran is looking fantastic. I must get my grey locks sorted soon.
Jax Bag packed yet for Weston-super-Mare? Enjoy the final tennis tonight. I'll be jumping up and down for Emma.
What an amazing book Grapes of Wrath is Urmston. I read it about 30 years ago. I've read lots of sad novels but this classic brought me to tears.
N&G what narrow escape you had. Belated birthday wishes.
We don't have a garage but I'd love to de-clutter MrM's boys shed SueDonim. Hope the dump wasn't too busy.
I have news about MuseMansion build so could be popping back in the kitchen tonight with a couple of photos. Any requests for cake? I'm baking tonight as well.
Photos of MsToad and toadlet, which is about 2cm long.
I’m glad you’ve had your op, Cornergran and I hope the recovery goes well.
Lovely hair, Blossoming!
My hair looks like I’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards.
I decided today was the day to start decluttering so after weeding out some books, I ventured into the garage and sorted out massive amounts of junk that has accumulated in there over lock down. My car is packed to the gunnels, ready for a charity shop/dump run tomorrow, and all the dead leaves, centipedes, snails, dust, cobwebs have been swept up. Still lots to do but I feel that I’ve made a dent in it and now I’ve begun, I’ll be able to carry on and reduce our possessions.
Soop, please thank Mr Soop for greeting David. I`m just so sorry your mini isn`t full sized.
Gorgeous hair Blossoming nothing extra needed. That sounds very scary N&G I’m now seriously thinking about a dashcam, one of those things I think about, but don’t act.
A quiet day, washing floors, hoovering and chatty phone calls. We’re away next week and the hotel sent us a £30 voucher for booking directly, a reasonable dent in dinner our first night. MrJ playing golf one morning, we’re meeting up with friends we made when in France, as the Mr wants to play too, that’ll be another day. I’ll walk with the Mrs and their two labs, we may need a drink after to keep hydrated.
DD just sent me this photo of Finley entitled ‘ I think I’ve just witnessed love at first sight’.
Have a gentle evening all x
Beautiful hair blossoming thanks for the picture!
Thank you GrandmaBatty and Urmstongran. My hairdresser is really good, the cut keeps it’s shape so well, and I always feel a million dollars leaving the salon.
Have a lovely evening everyone.
♥️ your hair Blossoming!
‘Evening All’.
A hot day here in Malaga. ?
We stayed in the shade all day, under a palm tree reading our books. I’ve started the John Steinbeck classic from 1939 ‘Grapes of Wrath’. I’ve not read it since senior school and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. He was such a good writer. I didn’t know he died at the age of 60y. Google is my friend as you can tell!
Getting ready soon to put on a soft jersey dress and meet another couple for drinks in Pedro’s then just cross the road for steaks in Sebastián’s. No cooking = suits me = #lazygran.
?
Your hair is lovely blossoming.
Good evening lovely Kitcheners
. It’s feeling much fresher here after a couple of heavy showers. The sun came back out before I left the salon, so my lovely new hairdo didn’t get drenched. My hair is now un-dyed and in it’s natural state. The hairdresser likes it so much she’s taken some photos to share on social media (not showing my face!).
Happy belated birthday N&G, I really have been so dopy the last few days I hope I haven’t missed too much!
Anyway, here is my latest hair do. Who says grey hair and chin length bobs don’t go together? I’m a #rebelgran
I am logging off for today. The internet connection remains "iffy", I have been notified that I have no connection at least a dozen times throughout the day. I therefore wander off, do a few jobs and return to discover that all is well.
All of you who need special tender loving care remain in our thoughts.
Wishing you a peaceful and pleasant Friday evening.

Here is the most recent sunset for you.
