N&G "The little ones over the road" are canny and cute and deserve payment in cake. I expect that there isn't any left over for us lot. Never mind. I really do need to count calories.
Our weekend away was the perfect excuse to indulge in all the goodies that the family contributed. We also had Champagne and wine. Chocs and other forbidden munchy things that I couldn't possibly refuse.
As for that mad motorist. My heart beat went into overdrive when I read that it was a very close thing. A dash cam would have caught the number plate. Best get one.

Middle son has a thing about road maps, the more ancient, the better. Mr Soop happened to mention that he had a box full in the attic. He couldn't bring himself to dispose of them. Middle son was delighted to hear that two big parcels are now in the post to his address. He will have a grand time sorting through years and years worth of beautifully kept maps from all over the country.

The little ones over the road have just made me laugh. They came over and stood outside the window to sing me happy birthday and suggested I could pay them in cake :-) , they departed happily with half my birthday cake in exchange for the handmade cards they brought. Such lovely children.

I am grateful to have made it through today when a driver going far too fast on a blind bend very close to our home flew round the corner and nearly ran us off the road. I dread to think what would have happened if Grampy hadn't had his wits about him or if it had been youngsters on a bike or a horse.

Sadly, it happened too quickly to get a reg number but it has pushed me to finally get a dash cam. If some idiot is going to kill me , I want it caught on camera so the judge can give them life !!

A neighbour called in yesterday. His wife has ordered a new Jaguar in a new colour (yellow). I brought out my yellow Mini and said...I would still choose this type of car if I had a chance. Only full-scale!

I am delighted to hear it is all over cornergran. Now the hard work starts but hopefully you will be discharged soon and can enjoy the comforts of your own house and bed. It is a pity Mr C has not had some cooking lessons.

Hopefully you will achieve a 90 degree bend very soon. Try to get some rest and sleep if that is possible.

So glad all went well Corner. I had that contraption attached to my leg as well, but as I was going for a wee every half hour, I think they got a bit fed up with having to keep taking it off and back on!
Pittcity, WELL DONE! You deserve to feel chuffed. I was doing it on my own last night, usually Lynne does it with me, but she went to bed early last night.

It is definitely just a cold. Been tested. Just as well they didn't test me for brains or common sense! ?

my DH had a nasty cold recently that just wouldn't clear for a couple of weeks, ( he felt so rough that he did a couple of lateral flow tests, they were negative).

We're now getting a heavy rain shower here in Cambs., first rain here in ages, ( it's still very close & muggy).
& DH's gone to golf!

Off to our little bolt hole on the NW Norfolk coast later today, until Monday.

On Tuesday I'm due to have an injection for my (long-on-going) painful shoulder, although the physio (over the phone!) thinks it maybe now is coming from my neck.

We are going to our local Italian restaurant this evening celebrating a friends birthday.No pain meds for me today instead I shall enjoy a few glasses of chilled Soave can’t wait.

dragonfly I await further news from your consultant. You are in my thoughts such a lot. Thank you for the comment on the new meds. I imagine that is very little that one can put into the body that doesn't cause some disruptive side effects. We trust the judgement of the experts.

Blossoming The muggy weather saps my energy levels. I, like you, will avoid anything remotely strenuous today. In fact, I'll take a coffee break right this minute.

Good morning my dear Kitcheners, just popping in to see how you all are. Great news cornergran, hope all continues to go well. Off to the hairdresser today, looking forward to a relaxing few hours chatting to the lovely stylists, always much laughter around. I’m really struggling with the dreaded neuro fatigue this week and the muggy weather isn’t helping. I’m taking today off from anything energy sapping! My muffin pan arrived yesterday so will be baking tomorrow. I can’t remember who advised me to always place it on an oven tray and now I have it I can see why, it’s so floppy .

Well done Corner it’s far too late now for them to cancel?
I hope your recovery goes really well and you are soon home with your loved ones.

Dull but warm here in Stockport, only through the door once since my little jaunt last week, coffee with a friend, but I am content.

I'm really glad that it all went well Cornergran. Not on the same scale at all but I'm still suffering from a cold and was up at four this morning having a cuppa. The result is I'm like a half shut knife this morning. It was a muggy,grey day yesterday and it's a repeat today. Have a good day all.

I walked DD’s dog this evening and ended up doing an hour - much longer than usual. Now I ache all over so night night everyone. Xx

All’s well in knee-land. I was last on the list, drifted painlessly through thr process, just reclaiming the feeling in my kegs and feet. I could see them otherwise I’d have thought they had disappeared! I’m blessed with kind if frantically busy staff It seems the next two days will be physio, physio and more physio so I may not drop back in. I’m sure your good wishes have made a positive difference today, thank you all.

Apologies, can recall nothing of other posts. I’ve a contraption attached to my legs that compresses and releases as a DVT preventative, it’s very odd and Im sure is adversely Impacting my brain. .
