Retirement or semi retirement is doing what I want to do without pressure, working 3 days which I enjoy, 4 days doing other stuff as I want, it’s lovely.

I don't get that awful "Sunday feeling"

Snuggle down in bed while listening to my neighbour scrape the frost off his windscreen

FannyCornforth Fri 20-Aug-21 10:46:30

Grannybags that’s a lovely one

Ro60 Fri 20-Aug-21 11:03:09

Hearing the traffic announcements on the radio and knowing they don't affect me, especially on a Friday.

Camelotclub Fri 20-Aug-21 11:04:07

Nobody telling you what to do.
No time constraints, or very few.

NannyJan53 Fri 20-Aug-21 11:08:51

As said earlier, no 'sinking' feeling on a Sunday evening.

As a teenager in a horrible job with long hours all I could ever dream of was a safe warm home with a garden of my own and enough money not to have to go to work so I could look after my dog, eat, and go to bed whenever I felt like it.... Now I've got there I miss the energy I had back then but overall it's all it's great being retired, I'm even able to run an electric bike and an old camper van. Joy!

Been retired 3 months now.
Can’t stand it any longer so taken on a new job smile

Sheilasue Fri 20-Aug-21 11:38:39

Been retired 14 years, love it, don’t get up to about 8 8.30 have breakfast. Chill, read or do some housework, go for a walk, go to our local cafe in oxlea woods for coffee or Shrewsbury house for lunch.
Meet up with a friend or DH and I go off somewhere for the day. Great life. Make the most of it.

No waking up during the night trying to formulate solutions to work related issues.

I sleep a solid 7 or 8 hours every night!

Rosycheeks Fri 20-Aug-21 11:44:11

Yep no long travel,no idiot telling me what to do, no clock watching, no getting everything done at the weekend. Bliss.

allule Fri 20-Aug-21 11:46:52

Lauren 59....you have it exactly!
I'm amazed how I can spend so long doing so little

nipsmum Fri 20-Aug-21 11:47:54

Plenty of time to do what I like, without caring who comes to visit me.

Kaggi60 Fri 20-Aug-21 12:17:40

I like no one moaning at you as if they are paying your wages and controlling you but enjoy my retirement.

Patricia59 Fri 20-Aug-21 12:20:52

No time constraints. Can do what I want when I want.
