Just reading the thread again on my way home. Will be remembering your daughter in law and family Lauranorder

Good afternoon all from a grey, damp and heavy showery South Yorkshire.

Despite the weather, I’ve managed to get outside to repot a low spreading plant into a shallow pot as it was getting swamped by another plant in the wooden wheelbarrow container it was in, so I hope it will be happier in its new home.

Hoping you are enjoying your birthday, Oopsadaisy ??.

A warm welcome to the GM thread, Polnan. I’ve seen your name on other threads in the past, but nice to see you on this one.

? Lauranorder - a worrying time for you all, but Grandmajean’s post offers hope.

Well, it’s suddenly gone very black again, and the breeze is getting up, so I suspect the heavens are about to open, therefore indoor jobs now beckon. At least it’s not cold.

Take care everyone.

I suggested to DS that he looked up diverticulitis and he told me that he had something like 99% of the symptoms on the NHS website. I hope his visit to the GP early next week will prove helpful. Thank you all for your kindness and suggestions. ??

Borrheid55 Sat 21-Aug-21 13:25:12

NanKate I sympathise with you as I too have diverticulitis. Had an awful episode last Saturday evening, the first time my DH witnessed one. He got a fright - enough to arrange with a friend to come to me if he is at work ( he’s a night time HGV driver!). Truly the worst pain. I get to the ‘passing out’ stage which is worrying. I hope your episodes are few and far between!

LauraNorder Sat 21-Aug-21 13:24:02

Thank you so much for that Grandmajean that’s just the sort of thing we need to hear. I’m very glad for your daughter and family.
Our daughter-in-law and son have a young family too. A little girl of six and a boy of three, it’s going to be tough I know but she’ll get there.

Grandmajean Sat 21-Aug-21 13:14:36

Welcome Polnan
Happy birthdayOopsadaisy
Just seen your postLauranorder and want you to know I have been there with my daughter. Similar diagnoses but stage 3 at the age of 35 . Husband and two very young children. She is now 49 and working full time.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 21-Aug-21 12:26:03

Morning (afternoon) Mick and all

Haven’t read the thread, only this page, so sorry to learn about your DiL LauraNorder ?

It’s grey here in S E Essex, we are off to middle AC today along with three AC and families, four out of five AC all together is a rarity, much noise, laughter and joshing each other I imagine.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Goodmorning everyone from dull and grey Swindon, Wiltshire

Many Happy Returns of the Day Oopsadaisy!

LauraNorder, so sorry to hear your sad news. praying here.

what a lovely good morning to read from you all.
now whatever prompted me to come here! well I came here when I first joined Gransnet , some time back, visit the postings recommended in my daily email.. one was deleted.. now I am very intrigued..

so came here. something prompted me.. from a few tumultous months, .. as I think all of us have been through with the virus, and extra events.. decided this morning I need to change..

so .. well lovely to meet you all.. I did so appreciate knowing where you all reside.. that is good for me... as I tend to be an inquisitive person.. don`t like looking and not commenting..

grandMattie Sat 21-Aug-21 11:40:26

Oh Laura! I’m so sorry. I hope that the chemo helps and your DiL and family cope with it OK.

LauraNorder Sat 21-Aug-21 11:22:47

Super photos Nannagarra. I love Liverpool and we’re long overdue a visit.

LauraNorder Sat 21-Aug-21 11:19:38

Good morning Mick and all from grey and still but warm Anglesey. Happy birthday Oopsadaisy, a fab name which always makes me smile.
I had a wonderful week with my eleven year old, bright and funny granddaughter while Orlin went to Leicester to helpwith son’s house renovation. Beach walks, garden boules and lots of board games. I miss her lots but it’s good to have Orlin back.
We’ve had bad news this week as our 39 year old daughter-in-law has been diagnosed with stage two breast cancer and will start chemo this week to shrink the tumour before an operation to remove it and lymph nodes. She is one of life’s most joyous, pure and kind people, it seems so unfair. A mountain to climb while we pray for a good outcome.
Tesco on its way here. Zoom call with Aussie family, life goes on.
I do hope that everyone finds a little random moment of joy and delight today no matter how large or small ?

Georgesgran Sat 21-Aug-21 10:38:18

Good morning from a grey, wet Durham - forecast is the same for tomorrow. Both DDs and DGSs coming later to see my SinL - I predict a riot!
Feeling much better, but I’ll still be pleased to see her on her way back to Cheshire tomorrow. Absolutely ‘nowt’ planned for later.

Blossoming Sat 21-Aug-21 10:30:41

Good morning everyone from Lancashire, where it is raining heavily. No real plans for today other than housework. Best wishes to all who read this thread, may today go as well as expected.
