Lefty of?? Heavy!

Nannytopsy Mon 23-Aug-21 08:50:23

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Suffolk is grey this morning after the lefty of rain yesterday. So good for the garden but the granddog and I got soaked to the skin yesterday morning! We are taking her to meet DD & SiL halfway today - she gets so excited when she sees them.
I read several days of GM while awake in the night - lovely to see Urmston & Laura that I haven’t seen for a while.
The decorator will be here shortly so time to get moving.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good amorning Auntyflo and all x

Nortsat Mon 23-Aug-21 08:44:11

Good morning Mick and the GM team from grey east London. I type the words ‘grey east London’ so frequently that they now simply appear in my predictive text!

Weekly grocery delivery this morning.
Then we have household admin and finance to do.
We also need to review our energy supply before our current tariff ends in September. I hate doing those things but it’s especially important, now that the tariffs are changing.

We got a lovely crop of plums this year. Last year there were none and this year we have harvested a large number, twice. I will freeze some for crumbles later in the year.
I don’t think I will make jam ... I don’t quite have the energy. So we will share them with neighbours, instead.

Sending good wishes to all GNs with worries or health issues.
Have a pleasant day, all. ?

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Had a nightmare last night - I dreamt I had to reset all electronics in the house! That’s after I had to reset my MacBook which is now working fine.
Apart from doing a wash, I hope to go to Aldi (don’t tell DH) - he’ll want to come too!
Welcome to our newbies hope to see more of your blethers!
Your nurse WILL be perfect Ash
Nice to see you back * lauranorder* always nice to hear about Anglesey

Good morning all from a very foggy Co Armagh , excuse the slurping as I down my cereal !
I usually check in here from bed , but I made a wee mistake on the bread maker timer and could smell it ready to decant (or is that just liquids ? ) it shouldn’t have been ready for another hour !
It’s been good to get going early though, lots done , so now I can read the forum and then catch up on my crochet
I hope we all have as good a day as possible xxx

Good morning from an overcast North Hampshire. Last week was a struggle with a painful back, this week seems off to a better start. Today a 4 months overdue blood test ?, must try harder.
Hope you see off that horrible virus soon, Ash, you really are due a large dose of good luck and very best of wishes to all.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside, Suet on Sea, Lancashire coast.
Interesting trip yesterday to Black Country Living Museum in Dudley. I was amused by a woman approaching the coach and asking
“Is this the bus for the Black Forest?” Crikey. That would be some day trip.
I’m pleased I was able to make it as the day before my right arm had seized up and the pain when I moved was intense. It eased off thankfully. Now I have a gammy arm, back and knee.
I put a support belt on my back when walking round places like the museum, but it still kills me.
The M6 very busy and a bad crash too holding up the southbound side on the way back.
I enjoyed the living museum, but prefer Blist Hill in Shropshire, similar reconstruction. Makes one glad to get back to our own age.
DS stayed over the night before on his way to the Lakes and cooked a lovely chicken meal, helping too huge for me now and left a like if washing up which I don’t have for myself these days.
Thoughts to Ash harrigran and welcome fargran.

Good morning from Shropshire.

Welcome Gymstagran and fatgran??

Housework this morning then this afternoon I have booked myself a spa afternoon.A couple of hours relaxing with no phone.Have a manicure booked too.Hopefully will come home feeling rejuvenated?‍♀️

My brother had a heart attack yesterday. He is 63.He is having surgery today and the outlook seems positive. He has lived a very active life, always playing sport and generally in good shape.

Ash, I hope you feel better and are able to reunite with olddudders as planned???

I have been thinking of EV and our other missing posters too mattie.

Have a good day all??

LauraNorder Mon 23-Aug-21 08:30:24

Welcome gymstagran. Sorry I got your name wrong fatgran obviously read Tasmania and thought fargran.
Harrigran flowers, hope you feel better soon.
A wee run in the car with a picnic and no particular destination in mind sound most appealing baubles. I’ll suggest it to Orlin.

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s dull but dry.

Welcome fatgran and gymstagran.
Wise decision to concentrate on getting well Ash, you have a very important date coming up.

We are going for a ‘wee run’ today. In the car that is, I couldn’t run for a bus!
I’ve a notion to go along the east coast towards Coldingham so I’ll put together a picnic and see where the day takes us.

I’m thinking of so many missing and missed posters.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Sar53 Mon 23-Aug-21 08:19:58

Good morning all from a sunny, for a change, Essex by the sea.

I haven't read the previous posts yet so I will wish you all a happy Monday.

Take care everyone and enjoy the day xxx

harrigran Mon 23-Aug-21 08:18:57

Good morning from the NE where the sky is starting to brighten.
Yesterday was a wasted day, guts played up all day and tummy was so sore I could only lie on my back in bed. Thankfully we don't have any appointments today so can take it easy.
I don't think the family have had very good weather, I do hope it improves for their second week in Wales.
Kind thoughts to those under the weather.

Gelisajams Mon 23-Aug-21 08:14:23

Good morning from a sunny Morecambe Bay though the amount of condensation on the campa says it’s autumnal out there.
I’m seeing a lady about a garden design this morning. Although I’m not taking in any more gardening this is a one off. I did do her back garden some time ago and I like the design side of things.
Then I will garden the vicarage garden and possibly my patch in the churchyard this afternoon.
Thinking of all with problems, take care and stay safe everyone ?

Gingster Mon 23-Aug-21 08:13:26

Good morning and it’s our last one here from the Suffolk coast for a few weeks. We’ve been here for 5 weeks and it’s been lovely. We are ready to go back to Essex to see family and friends and clubs that are now opening up. We don’t have friends or family here , only neighbours who are MOSTLY friendly. ?.

My loveliest, kindest, oldest friend messaged me last evening saying she has been diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia and a heart condition. She’s been poorly on and off for a while now. Also her and her dh have Covid.! He went to watch the Chelsea match Saturday before last and must have caught it there. She said they have to register on line and had spent two days trying to do it, (they are very technically minded and far from stupid) , failing over and over. . Also had 7 e mails and 2 phone calls from the NHS. Not what you need when poorly. ! ?

Wishing you all a pleasant, carefree day. ?

Greyduster Mon 23-Aug-21 07:56:29

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a brightening South Yorkshire -the sun is breaking through. We had a nice morning yesterday; DD, GS and SiL came over to tell us about their after hours trip to Stonehenge. The lowering sun made for some wonderful photos. Some shopping for us today and then I need to sort out my fishing tackle which hasn’t seen the light of day for two years for one reason and another, but I have the urge for an outing. Watch out trout! I’m a-comin’! Have the best day you can folks.

ginny Mon 23-Aug-21 07:54:59

Good morning everyone.
Yes, Maw let’s hope the sun remembers it’s job before it is too late.
Laundry and a few household jobs and correspondence to do today and Lord Jasper will need an exercise session. After that I’ll enjoy some crafty time.
Wishing all a smile along your way.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 23-Aug-21 07:51:55

Ps Blue Sapphire - check out how to change printer cartridges on YouTube first - works every time for me as I have the memory of a gnat and although I have done the cartridges for the last 4 or 5 years, I forget every time too.

kittylester Mon 23-Aug-21 07:38:50

Good morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.

We are gearing ourselves up for the arrival of DD3, her partner and 3 children. They are in the process of moving to a village close to us but there was a hiccup (further down the chain) and completion has been postponed till the 31st. One problem with that is the children starting their new schools on Wednesday this week so the decision has been made for them to stay here this week. I really, really hope that completion happens next week. grin

MawBe Mon 23-Aug-21 07:38:04

Good morning all from N Bucks where it is grey and cool yet again
Waitrose with a friend later this morning , but just for the coffee as I have an Ocado order coming this afternoon.
It is getting really Autumnal- is that it then for Summer?
Wishing you all a pleasant day and a speedy return to health for Ashcombe - la belle France awaits!

monk08 Mon 23-Aug-21 07:36:06

Welcome Gymstagran I was born in Solihull haven't lived there for nearly 50 years although still go back have 2 brothers who have never left the area. The joke is the one needs a passport to leave.

LauraNorder Mon 23-Aug-21 07:31:51

Good morning Mick and all from beautiful Anglesey where the sky is pale blue and hazy, promising a nice warm day.
Hope you’re feeling better soon Ash, not nice being under the weather.
Good luck with printer ink Blue, I’ve done ours half a dozen times and still turn the air navy blue each time as with anything technological.
Welcome to fargran, what a bookworm you are.
Only air that duster if you feel like it monk.
I’ve never watched The Coroner Beechnut, now I’m curious.
I’m up and about at what seems to me far to early but at least I can acknowledge those early birds on page one before names and news jumble together in my head.
Wishing a good morning to all who follow and all who’ve jumped in while I tap away.
Off downstairs now to shock Orlin with my earlyness.
?

Gymstagran Mon 23-Aug-21 07:30:34

Good morning all from Solihull where I am house sitting.
Its quite grey looking at the moment but hopefully will be sunny this afternoon like yesterday. I haven't posted on this thread for a while, am mainly a lurker.
Cleaner day today. So I will hide with the dog in one of the rooms.
Hope everyone has a good day

brook2704 Mon 23-Aug-21 07:26:09

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bit of a grey and wet start to the day but forecast to dry up and to be quite warm later

Today I’m off to the gym for the Aqua aerobics class and then into the kitchen showroom as we’re updating the units and worktop etc in the utility room and we need some ideas!

Hoping everyone has a good day today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
