Good Morning Monday 23rd August 2021
(62 Posts)Good morning everyone - it is actually 2.15 pm here in Tasmania.
Nice sunny day, we have been out early taking a carload of old books, records, interesting items up to Launceston to put in an auction. The start of my clearing 50 years of collecting but only clearing things we no longer look at etc. Certainly not starting on our good things yet!
Children are not interested so we would rather let things go to people who will treasure them rather than think they will end up on the tip.
Feel very sad at starting to let my books go but I have 15 or so packed bookcases so it will take a while to sort them out.
Best wishes to everyone following and thinking of Rufus
Good morning, Mick and other early risers from a bright Torbay! Welcome, fatgran57!
Thank you all for your warm support over this wretched virus. Yesterday, I cancelled all commitments so I can concentrate on my recovery. This morning I have an appointment with a practice nurse (I hope she's perfect!!! ?) so will come back later if anything worth telling.
Have as good a week as circumstances allow with relief from cares and worries for those with problems of any kind. ??☀️
Good morning from E Kent. Is that the sun peeping through the clouds? Goodness!
Poor you, Ash, hope you manage to get over whatever ails you, so you can join olddudders.
Had an unexpected joy yesterday. DS2 came for the night, for his mum to mollycoddle him! He seems a lot better. But what is it with those men who think that taking some painkiller (even when prescribed) is a sign of weakness?
Usual cleaning today. I also have to wash and label my piccalilli, before putting it away.
May our missing posters be ok - EV and Taichinan spring to mind.
I hope that today is full of metaphorical sunshine ☀️. ???
Good morning from cloudy West Berkshire.
A bit of house work this morning and an extra shift at the foodbank this afternoon. Through the school holidays we are providing food for an extra 400 children a week who would normally receive free school meals so we are very busy , and running out of donations.
Have as good a day everyone.
Good morning everyone from a very grey and overcast Northampton. Not much planned for today, but will try to finish off trimming the lawn edges - started yesterday afternoon, but had to come in before I was done, as it came on to rain ☔.
Apart from that, more reading and knitting, and the daily puzzle page in the newspaper. Oh I forgot; expecting a delivery of printer ink today, so will have a go at changing the ink. Never done it before. Wish me luck.
Hoping today is kind for all.
Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dull Black country.
Welcome fatgran57 that's a lot of books you could open your own library.
Ash I hope that you can get sorted ready for your long awaited trip ?.
Nothing planned today so the duster may get an airing.
May you all have the best day you can and may you all find some ?.
Good morning everyone from Severnside. Warm and overcast here.
Off to top up the car with fuel and get some compost are my morning jobs. I’ll have my lunch while watching The Coroner on tv. I do like where her house is situated with the view from the windows.
Take care all and especially those with worries and ills ?
Good morning all from a cloudy S Hants. Family BBQ went well, it stayed dry.
A bit of admin and housework today.
Welcome fatgran57.
Hope the nurse is perfect Ash ?
Have a good day all.
Good morning from sunny Colchester. After a wet weekend the weather is on the up.
We have 2xDGS staying.
DH is taking 10 year old fishing while 5 year old and I tackle shopping and housework via the swings!!!
Wish me luck.
Love to all x
Good morning all from Cheshire.
Woke early this morning. Morrison's delivery in a couple of hours so may have a poke around in the fridge and see if anything dead or dying lurking at the back ? not much else on today.
Will come back later and read posts. Wishing all the best day possible.
Good morning from East Yorkshire where it is a little bit brighter than the last few days.
Yesterday was a quiet day for us. DH is in need of new work trousers but with little choice on the High street theses days where to look? The couple of options in the city centre didn’t solve his problem. The only other solution is to travel to a larger city or Leeds or York or online. He’d looked online before to no avail but digged deeper and ordered some that fit the bill from Farah website.
Today I’ll catch up with laundry and housework.
Ash hope you can get to the bottom of your virus and on the track to recovery soon.
Have a good day and take care all
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bit of a grey and wet start to the day but forecast to dry up and to be quite warm later
Today I’m off to the gym for the Aqua aerobics class and then into the kitchen showroom as we’re updating the units and worktop etc in the utility room and we need some ideas!
Hoping everyone has a good day today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning all from Solihull where I am house sitting.
Its quite grey looking at the moment but hopefully will be sunny this afternoon like yesterday. I haven't posted on this thread for a while, am mainly a lurker.
Cleaner day today. So I will hide with the dog in one of the rooms.
Hope everyone has a good day
Good morning Mick and all from beautiful Anglesey where the sky is pale blue and hazy, promising a nice warm day.
Hope you’re feeling better soon Ash, not nice being under the weather.
Good luck with printer ink Blue, I’ve done ours half a dozen times and still turn the air navy blue each time as with anything technological.
Welcome to fargran, what a bookworm you are.
Only air that duster if you feel like it monk.
I’ve never watched The Coroner Beechnut, now I’m curious.
I’m up and about at what seems to me far to early but at least I can acknowledge those early birds on page one before names and news jumble together in my head.
Wishing a good morning to all who follow and all who’ve jumped in while I tap away.
Off downstairs now to shock Orlin with my earlyness.
?
Welcome Gymstagran I was born in Solihull haven't lived there for nearly 50 years although still go back have 2 brothers who have never left the area. The joke is the one needs a passport to leave.
Good morning all from N Bucks where it is grey and cool yet again
Waitrose with a friend later this morning , but just for the coffee as I have an Ocado order coming this afternoon.
It is getting really Autumnal- is that it then for Summer?
Wishing you all a pleasant day and a speedy return to health for Ashcombe - la belle France awaits!
Good morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.
We are gearing ourselves up for the arrival of DD3, her partner and 3 children. They are in the process of moving to a village close to us but there was a hiccup (further down the chain) and completion has been postponed till the 31st. One problem with that is the children starting their new schools on Wednesday this week so the decision has been made for them to stay here this week. I really, really hope that completion happens next week.
Ps Blue Sapphire - check out how to change printer cartridges on YouTube first - works every time for me as I have the memory of a gnat and although I have done the cartridges for the last 4 or 5 years, I forget every time too.
Morning Mick & all
Grey here in S E Essex, but due to brighten up during the day.
Eldest AC and wife are off to their new home today after 16 days with us, so that just leaves youngest AC and two GC (thank heavens we didn’t downsize). Off to the gym later then it’s washing machine on!!
Welcome Gymstagran & fatgran57 , hope all is well Ashcombe , Marydoll you are missed.
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Good morning everyone.
Yes, Maw let’s hope the sun remembers it’s job before it is too late.
Laundry and a few household jobs and correspondence to do today and Lord Jasper will need an exercise session. After that I’ll enjoy some crafty time.
Wishing all a smile along your way.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a brightening South Yorkshire -the sun is breaking through. We had a nice morning yesterday; DD, GS and SiL came over to tell us about their after hours trip to Stonehenge. The lowering sun made for some wonderful photos. Some shopping for us today and then I need to sort out my fishing tackle which hasn’t seen the light of day for two years for one reason and another, but I have the urge for an outing. Watch out trout! I’m a-comin’! Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning and it’s our last one here from the Suffolk coast for a few weeks. We’ve been here for 5 weeks and it’s been lovely. We are ready to go back to Essex to see family and friends and clubs that are now opening up. We don’t have friends or family here , only neighbours who are MOSTLY friendly. ?.
My loveliest, kindest, oldest friend messaged me last evening saying she has been diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia and a heart condition. She’s been poorly on and off for a while now. Also her and her dh have Covid.! He went to watch the Chelsea match Saturday before last and must have caught it there. She said they have to register on line and had spent two days trying to do it, (they are very technically minded and far from stupid) , failing over and over. . Also had 7 e mails and 2 phone calls from the NHS. Not what you need when poorly. ! ?
Wishing you all a pleasant, carefree day. ?
Good morning from a sunny Morecambe Bay though the amount of condensation on the campa says it’s autumnal out there.
I’m seeing a lady about a garden design this morning. Although I’m not taking in any more gardening this is a one off. I did do her back garden some time ago and I like the design side of things.
Then I will garden the vicarage garden and possibly my patch in the churchyard this afternoon.
Thinking of all with problems, take care and stay safe everyone ?
Good morning from the NE where the sky is starting to brighten.
Yesterday was a wasted day, guts played up all day and tummy was so sore I could only lie on my back in bed. Thankfully we don't have any appointments today so can take it easy.
I don't think the family have had very good weather, I do hope it improves for their second week in Wales.
Kind thoughts to those under the weather.
