So, not only had Prince Andrew run home to mummy, The Queen has let it be known to the regiment that she wants the Duke of York to remain as colonel, and the feeling is that nobody wants to do anything that could cause upset to the colonel-in-chief.'
What about those who have been hurt by this so far by these allegations...... Diddums - poor Andrew, I wonder if The Queen spoon feeds him his breakfast and wipes his botty for him also!

"Security guards stopped 'multiple attempts' by lawyers last week to hand the document to The Duke of York at Royal Lodge."

Outrageous.

At what point will politicians in Westminster start to ask questions about Prince Andrew?

Republic
@RepublicStaff

Last week we asked our supporters if they've served in the military, and if they would be prepared to take part in campaigns to end royal involvement with our armed forces. More than 300 people have so far been in touch, people who have served across the past several decades.

The queen wants Andrew to keep his honorary titles as don't want him to wear a suit for jubilee celebrations

Disrespect to the military

Anniebach Wed 01-Sept-21 16:22:47

He was in Scotland last week

Petera Wed 01-Sept-21 16:34:52

Anniebach

He was in Scotland last week

So can we expect him now to ring up and say "Sorry I missed you, but you will find me at ... this week"?

Grany Wed 01-Sept-21 21:03:24

Yes we did. We made a 2022 Democratic Heads of State calendar! Available now via Republic's shop republic.org.uk/shop smile

Anniebach Wed 01-Sept-21 21:59:20

No Petera , if the public know he was in Scotland one would
think the lawyers would have known, seems he could flee the
country , the press report it but the lawyers wouldn’t know.

So I don’t believe they made multiple attempts .

Smileless2012 Wed 01-Sept-21 22:31:44

I don't believe it either Annie.

Casdon Wed 01-Sept-21 22:51:40

Post your source please Grany, there’s no credible evidence I could find online to support your assertion. It’s a civil case, there is no international convention to recognise and enforce US civil judgments in England unless a defendant voluntarily submits to the jurisdiction of the US court. This is a good analysis.

Well it didn't take me two minutes to find the source and evidence. So either you are googling the wrong thing or your on-line history is pretty strange Casdon. It's here www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9894567/US-lawyers-tried-serve-Prince-Andrew-Virginia-Giuffre-sex-assault-papers-horse.html

Casdon Wed 01-Sept-21 23:23:18

I was looking for a reliable source trisher, not the Daily Mail. I couldn’t find one, although my google skills are actually quite good. If you can find it please post, as I’m sure any decent source would explain the legalities, which is the most important element.

nanna8 Thu 02-Sept-21 02:09:30

What hope has Virginia Guiffre got against all that man’s wealth and power? She is a brave woman, hope she doesn’t meet with an ‘accident’!

Petera Thu 02-Sept-21 07:49:46

I really fail to understand the attitudes taken by Royal Family supporters here.

If I supported them – and I readily admit that I don’t – I would be mortified by what’s going on and quite deeply angry with Prince Andrew for bring them into disrepute.

Even if he did not sexually abuse a child there are still several factors that are beyond doubt.

He openly consorted with known child sex offenders.

He invited one of the to his daughter’s 18th birthday party (just say that slowly to yourself – his daughter's 18th birthday party) a month after they had been charged with solicitation.

He attended parties on a private island, know to locals as” paedophile island”.

He made a transatlantic trip and stayed at the house of a convicted sex offender for three days because, he said, “it was a convenient place to stay”.

He claimed to have offered himself as a witness to be refused by the US Department of Justice which they – the US government, not the lawyers, the government – denied with the words “…falsely portray himself as … willing to cooperate”.

And even if you now come back with the argument – “well we don’t know that he knew what he was doing” (which shows a staggering lack of awareness both on his part and of the staff I assume we pay to ensure he knows these things) just ask: what sort of deeply creepy rich and famous person attends parties with teenage runaway girls?

Anniebach Thu 02-Sept-21 07:49:53

Good grief trisher you are quoting the Daily Mail , ?

Grany Thu 02-Sept-21 08:01:04

Prosecutors last year sent the British government a formal request, known as a mutual legal assistance treaty (MLAT) submission, asking for access to the prince so they could talk to him. Andrew still hasn’t cooperated.

Casdon Thu 02-Sept-21 08:29:05

Yes Grany, what I want to see is the evidence that security guards stopped multiple attempts to hand the document to Prince Andrew? I’m not defending his actions in any way, I just prefer accuracy in reporting situations to rumour, and I can’t find any credible sources so far.

eazybee Thu 02-Sept-21 09:00:51

Prince Andrew is being castigated in this country, rightly in my opinion, for his continuing friendship with Epstein afterhis conviction and sentence.

Anniebach Thu 02-Sept-21 09:14:06

Petera I don’t want to see Andrew taking part in any official role. His tv interview was a disgrace.

Surely your question should be ‘what sort of person attends parties with teenage runaway girls’

Alegrias1 Thu 02-Sept-21 09:16:16

what sort of person attends parties with teenage runaway girls...

..and then hides in his mum's house(s) to avoid the authorities, with his mum's collusion?

Anniebach Thu 02-Sept-21 09:32:37

So all the others who attended those parties have come forward and spoken of this ?

Why isn’t Virginia Giuffre suing Clinton and Andrew ?

Parsley3 Thu 02-Sept-21 09:44:38

Does it matter how many other people are involved? What difference does that make to Andrew's part in it all?

Franbern Thu 02-Sept-21 09:45:19

silverdragon

The young woman that PA is supposed to have assaulted - what I want to know is why & how on earth did she get involved with Epstein & Maxwell in the first place, kept being in their circle, and WHERE were her parents whilst all this was going on?

Obviously, it is the victims who are to blame!!!

Petera Thu 02-Sept-21 09:51:47

To which your answer should be "a deeply creepy one"
