Poor baby - run home to mummy!

So, not only had Prince Andrew run home to mummy, The Queen has let it be known to the regiment that she wants the Duke of York to remain as colonel, and the feeling is that nobody wants to do anything that could cause upset to the colonel-in-chief.'
What about those who have been hurt by this so far by these allegations...... Diddums - poor Andrew, I wonder if The Queen spoon feeds him his breakfast and wipes his botty for him also!

The queen has recently lost her husband and is now where she usually spends the summer, Scotland. Her family, as most families do are supporting her by spending time with her in Balmoral not only is Andrew there but Kate, William and the children have chosen to spend the summer with her, So Andrew is not running home to mummy and as much as I dislike him I believe he is doing the right thing by supporting her in her time of need/

I imagine he would be at Balmoral for the shooting this time of year, it may be that it is felt that having Fergie around is useful as he will talk to her rather than confiding in someone else. The fact is none of us know the whole story behind everything that has apparently gone on, how can we. OH and I were speculating over elevenses as to where the woman's parents were at the time her life took the turn it did.

Not a fan of PA but as others have said ‘innocent until proven guilty’ is the mantra in our judicial system.

@GerryHassan
This is a brilliant & daring cartoon abt the amoral institution that is the UK Royal Family & the Queen with all her prestige & position using it to protect an alleged child sex abuser who is her son (Prince Andrew) from the forces of justice. From Guy Venables in today's Metro.

OP, I too think your post is childish and unpleasant.
RomRoot, innocent until proven guilty and the sexual assault complained of wouldn’t make anyone a paedophile in this country. The complainant was under the age of consent in the US but not here. I believe Andrew and Fergie remain genuinely close and there was speculation that they might remarry, though not whilst the D of E was alive. I do think you should consider getting your post removed as it is defamatory.

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 23-Aug-21 15:17:00

A very offensive post Grany. The RF is not an amoral institution and the Queen is not doing anything to protect PA from ‘the forces of justice’.

GagaJo Mon 23-Aug-21 15:40:28

I agree grany. Protecting an abuser of a sex trafficked girl. Disgusting.

'So, not only had Prince Andrew run home to mummy,'
........................................................

What an inane sentence from an adult .

Peasblossom Mon 23-Aug-21 15:54:30

Well anyone can allege anything about anyone else.

Mean I could accuse Grany of sex abuse of a minor. It wouldn’t mean she’d done it but those who don’t like her might chose to believe it.

And then apparent it’s just a little step from alleged to actually stating it as a fact, as Gagajo has just demonstrated.

Alas for our judicial rights and any semblance of unprejudiced intelligence.

Paedophilia involves prepubescent children, and is classed as a psychiatric disorder.

Welshwife Mon 23-Aug-21 16:10:11

I have no idea of whether or not he is guilty but I too question how a child of that age was able to go to all these places without her parents knowing or wondering where she was. Something is not right there.

MissAdventure Mon 23-Aug-21 16:15:40

That's the point.
There was a whole lot going on that was not right.
Rich, powerful men were involved, so you can draw your own conclusions about what was happening.

Alegrias1 Mon 23-Aug-21 16:19:32

Been staying off this thread as it is, at its heart, very distasteful and childish.

But what is more distasteful still is the low level background chorus of "questioning" how the complainant could have got herself into this situation in the first place.

Innocent until proven guilty works both ways.

M0nica Mon 23-Aug-21 16:33:59

Who on earth thought this was a subject worth discussing, yawn, I had a bad night last night and this thread is serving as a soporific zzzzzzzzzz

JenniferEccles Mon 23-Aug-21 17:01:47

Well the questioning of the accuser is part of the process isn’t it?
Otherwise we would have a kind of ‘free for all’ where completely unfounded accusations become widespread.

Alleged rape victims have to undergo initial scrutiny to weed out the time wasters and those with an ulterior motive.

Look how many male schoolteachers’ careers have been ruined because of a malicious accusation from a female student with an axe to grind.

To repeat, I don’t like PA, I never have but as to whether he is guilty of this woman’s accusation, I have no idea.

Bearing in mind who he chose to be friends with, obviously it doesn’t look good for him, but
‘doesn’t look good’ isn’t good enough in the eyes of the law.

FannyCornforth Mon 23-Aug-21 17:08:32

Jennifer you’ve certainly put the cat among the pigeons there! shock

Alegrias1 Mon 23-Aug-21 17:16:13

Well the questioning of the accuser is part of the process isn’t it?

Yes, of course, but not on social media wink

trisher Mon 23-Aug-21 17:18:53

If my DS was involved with a child trafficker and the police were asking him to give evidence I would push him to the station if necessary. Regardless of if he is innocent or guilty PA has not behaved well. He shows either a complete lack of judgement in his friends, an inability to appreciate charges of child trafficking and under age sex, or an involvement in these things, or possibly all three. He could have cut his relationship with Epstein, he didn't, he could have voluntarily given evidence in the US, he didn't, he could have admitted the sexual relationship was a possibility he just denied it.
His mother it seems just thinks if he hangs on a bit it will all go away. What a family!

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 23-Aug-21 17:26:19

trisher, you can’t possibly know what HM thinks. Unless you are incredibly well connected?

MissAdventure Mon 23-Aug-21 17:31:52

You can only do that when it relates to Meghan and Harry?

trisher Mon 23-Aug-21 18:44:39

Germanshepherdsmum

*trisher*, you can’t possibly know what HM thinks. Unless you are incredibly well connected?

I can speculate though!
Why else is she keeping him in the background?

JaneJudge Mon 23-Aug-21 18:50:03

I very much doubt any of the royal family are wiping anybodies arse, let alone each others

Andrew IS a disgrace though, goes without saying

Kamiso Mon 23-Aug-21 18:58:05

Her father accompanied her on the flight to London when she was 17. He waited around until the “business” had been completed. Perhaps he should be answering some questions?

Jackiest Mon 23-Aug-21 19:12:25

Unfortunately too long ago to examine the bank accounts to see if any money changed hands.

MayBee70 Mon 23-Aug-21 19:29:25

I have to be honest here and admit to having a great fondness for the royals. It kind of goes against my politics but I can’t help it. And I also have a great admiration for The Queen. But what I’ve never understood is that I’ve often read that Andrew has always been her favourite child and he’s the only one that I’ve always disliked and had no time for, the others seeming to be quite hard working and decent.
