Poor baby - run home to mummy!

So, not only had Prince Andrew run home to mummy, The Queen has let it be known to the regiment that she wants the Duke of York to remain as colonel, and the feeling is that nobody wants to do anything that could cause upset to the colonel-in-chief.'
What about those who have been hurt by this so far by these allegations...... Diddums - poor Andrew, I wonder if The Queen spoon feeds him his breakfast and wipes his botty for him also!

The Queen isn't on trial. She's not responsible for actions of her 60 year old son.

trisher Mon 13-Sept-21 13:02:07

I take it your first minister didn't do any of the things I posted then Casdon? Unfortunately the Queen has.

Casdon Mon 13-Sept-21 12:52:45

I was responding directly to the point you raised trisher which was that an elected head of state would be treated differently in these circumstances. I don’t think they would. Prince Andrew is 60ish years old, he is accountable for his own actions. Attempts to rubbish a 95 year old woman who’s just lost her husband, regardless of who she is and whether she is allowing him to stay with her or not don’t sit well with me at all, I feel sorry for her, she loves her son. That doesn’t excuse his actions, but I think compassion for her is called for.

trisher Mon 13-Sept-21 12:29:15

Casdonwas the son protected from the press and judicial process by his father? Did the son lie about his activities? Was he in a long term friendship with known sex offenders?
Anyone can commit an offence how the parent deals with it is important.

sodapop Mon 13-Sept-21 12:12:30

Well I expect that was because he was adopted Casdon.

Casdon Mon 13-Sept-21 11:01:45

I think it’s wrong to suggest that a mother or father is responsible for the actions of their child and should be castigated for them. An example is that the adopted son of our first minister was charged with a serious sexual offence. Nobody blamed the FM, the overriding response was sympathy. It hasn’t affected his standing at all.

I was thinking that if we had an elected Head of State whose son was involved and friendly with paedophiles there would have been a huge outcry and demands for her resignation. But we have this dysfunctional royal family that no one can shift.

Alegrias1 Mon 13-Sept-21 09:13:23

Ever thought of being a lawyer Anniebach?

A party you say? Well how would you define a party? In this picture there are 3 people, that does not equate to a party. Ergo, m'lud, I submit that this whole case is a tissue of lies and was made up purely to extort money from this fine upstanding member of society and his blameless mother.

Case dismissed.

Anniebach Mon 13-Sept-21 08:56:18

I haven’t seen a photograph of him at a party.

If he tells the truth he will have to pay, if he remains silent and the courts rule in her favour he pays.

Whichever, I believe he did have sex with her and I very much
doubt anyone believes he didn’t.

Petera Mon 13-Sept-21 08:09:42

Anniebach

Seems if he remains silent , she will get the money, end of .

I refer to you previous answer where you described any person who attends parties with runaway teenage girls as "a pervert and a criminal".

Is 'end of' enough, or are you now saying he wasn't at the party he was photographed at (and many others that have been reported)?

Royal silence has to end. Prince Andrew was accused of these offences ten years ago, why haven’t our head of state and next head of state ensured he cooperate with the FBI, in the interests of justice for sexual abuse victims?

Yes, absolutely.

Callistemon

I think that Virginia Guiffre would rather have justice for her and other girls than money.

Well said.

So it looks like the lovely PA is about to get charged a considerable sum in damages if he doesn't respond. Of course mummy will pay it so he probably won't be bothered.

Prince Andrew has been served legal papers over a sexual assault lawsuit, according to claims from lawyers for Virginia Giuffre.

A document filed in a New York court revealed that the civil lawsuit was handed to a Metropolitan Police officer who was on duty at the main gates of The Royal Lodge, Windsor Great Park, on August 27 at 9.30am.

The filing said it was "consistent with the provisions for service upon an individual defendant, under Section 6 of the Civil Procedure Rules, as required by the Supreme Court of Judicature in England & Wales".

However, lawyers for the duke do not accept the papers have been served to him, according to the PA news agency.

It comes after a first attempt was made on August 26, when an agent went to Windsor Great Park, according to the documents.

A Metropolitan Police officer, who was the head of security, told the agent that officers were not able to accept service of any court process, or let anyone trying to serve legal papers on to the property.

However, the agent returned the next day and was told the court process could be left with the police officer at the main gate and that "this matter would then be forwarded on to the legal team".

The document explained that the complaint, the summons and other papers were enclosed "in a plastic sleeve and then in an A4 envelope, addressed to the said defendant, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, at the address" and then left with the police officer.

It went on to say that within 21 days of the summons the plaintiff must be served an answer to the complaint, and "if you fail to respond, judgment by default will be entered against you for the relief demanded in the complaint".

We can’t spend too much time on here , can we???
I think it will eventually be the way of the world , but not too soon I hope.

Anniebach Thu 09-Sept-21 12:50:04

Mmmmm, yes my mistake, he is stupid enough

Petera Thu 09-Sept-21 11:41:14

Anniebach

He surely has a legal team and even he isn’t stupid enough to
ignore them.

"even he isn’t stupid enough"

PA after Emily Maitlis interview: "I think that went quite well."

I wonder if Andrew is receiving any advice on his situation. If he is, is he paying heed?

Bluebellwould Thu 09-Sept-21 10:19:51

Oh how things can be twisted by the press. He goes up to Balmoral every summer nothing new here.

trisher Thu 09-Sept-21 09:43:49

Will he keep running for the 120 days? They have until December 8th to serve the papers on him. He couldn't possibly be avoiding them could he?

Grany Thu 09-Sept-21 09:15:31

PRINCE Andrew has travelled to join the Queen on her Scottish holiday at Balmoral as he avoids responding to a US lawsuit regarding his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

"He knows he is far safer up at Balmoral on the Queen's estate. Andrew is always described as the Queen's favourite son but she is meant to be on holiday at Balmoral.

"With Andrew and everything that is happening with Charles and the investigation into cash for honours she must be wondering when she will get any peace and quiet."

Andrew stepped back from public life after his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was exposed in 2019.
