Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey but dry here in brackley this morning, today will be an easy going day for me .
Apart from a small shop early , i will later watch the drama of the Vuelta unfold as it enters the Sierra Nevada mountains range this week.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all.
Late today as tossed and turned a lot through the night then slept until nearly 8 o'clock.
Safe journey Ashcombe
Will read more posts when I get my brain in gear.

Good morning Mick, morning all. It looks set to be another glorious day here in South Lanarkshire.

I spent most of yesterday trying to restore order in the garden. DH likes the overgrown look and while I’m not a fan of anything too neat and regimented I do like to be able to see what’s there. I think a couple of the real thugs will have to be cut back when the time is right.

I have an appointment to have my eyebrows tinted later then I’ll have an afternoon sitting in my marginally tidier garden, knitting another couple of baby hats for the maternity unit.

Safe journey Ash.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Good morning all from a very misty Anstruther. As Kalu has said, I'm having a much needed break in the East Neuk of Fife, where I am being spoiled rotten, which I find quite unnerving, as I like to be mother hen. ?
We spent many a happy holidays here when the children were young and are feeling quite nostalgic.

I have been quite unwell over the last week and hoping that this rest will do me the world of good.

I have attached a photo of my future DIL, swimming in the sea below our cottage. She is a brave soul!

Ash, safe journey.
Lovely to see you back Urms.
Have a lovely break, Kalu, enjoy your break in Perthshire. If you stay away from House of Bruar, I will be good in St Andrews! ? However, I have already discovered a delightful shop in Anstruther and have been naughty. DD led me astray!

A warm welcome to all the newbies, great to see new posters. To all the regulars, I hope you have a pleasant and hopefully not too painful or stressful day.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another cloudy start but it may clear later.
Popping into town this morning for a wander around the market and then collect an order from M&S.
Heading off to Derbyshire later for DD2’s birthday tomorrow.
Good to hear from you Urmston, safe travels Ash.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is shining.

Not a lot going on here today, will probably go for a walk later.

Good to hear from you Urms and safe journey to you Ash.

Enjoy Wednesday everyone xxx

Good morning (evening here) from Tassie. Another nice sunny day.

OH needed to pick up some bits and pieces for a project he is starting so we went to nearby town after lunch. Had a coffee and then grocery shopping - I am buying a bit extra to store just in case we have to go into lockdown which our Premier says will happen if we get any Covid cases here on our island.

I have gained a few pounds lately so have decided to try to get back to my most comfortable weight again. Goodbye bread, cake and biscuits. Also fish and chips!

Sorry to read that Rolling Stone Charlie Watts died this morning. Seemed like a very nice man.

Happy reunion Ash

Thinking of missing posters especially EV, GrandmaF and Sheep. Hope they will be back sometime soon.

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where we have a blue sky. I suspect it will get quite warm later.
Yesterday’s boat trip on the Lancaster canal didn’t quite go as planned. We were packed on the barge which bothered me as despite being out and about quite a bit this last few months, we have made an effort to keep our distance from people. Then the barge couldn’t get going. There was a tyre wrapped round the propeller! It took them over an hour to free it which was met by a very loud cheer.
We then walked home. My watch tells me it was over 9 miles. It must be all the bends and twists of the canal because it’s only 5 miles as the crow flies.
Not much planned for today. I was going to paint the shed but I haven’t bought the preservative yet.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

We have had a sunny but cold day here in Melbourne. Still in lockdown so didn’t do much . Made a few new face masks in red with white spots, getting to be really fast at them now, lots of practice! Went down to the local Aldi for a few groceries. Everything is shut except the supermarkets, I feel so sad for the small shopkeepers.

Good morning all from a sunny SW Herts. Could do with a bit of cheering up after the film (The Father) last night at the cinema. I can see why Anthony Hopkins got an Oscar for it, but for those of us whose relatives had had or are having dementia it was a very tough watch.

Safe driving Ash, look forward to hearing all about the coming reunion. You will be the best analgesic for OU!

Welcome home from exile Urms, good to see you back.

We have DGD (the one the hospital can't diagnose) and her brother coming to stay so that DD can go out for a meal with her ex to celebrate his 50th (don't ask!) I thought if their parents were having a special meal I could do one for them too, so mozzarella and tomato flan, chicken in cider, and lemon posset with white chocolate cornflake crisps and raspberries. Will wreck my diet, but these things have to be done!

I am really proud of DH, he overcame his fears, the swab very gingerly approached his nose yesterday and did five pirouettes, he has done a test and it was negative! So hopefully he will be more relaxed on holiday when we follow Ash to France on Friday week.

Now I had better get down to organising the dinner party, wishing you all a safe and happy day.

Good morning from a bright and autumnal Scottish Borders. A day to recoup my energy and start clearing up in preparation for DD2 to visit next week. I am so excited. Just made dough. Will make rolls for lunch. Need to rejig the clutter on my kitchen surfaces. Have a Kitchen Aid and Magi Mix which take up a lot of space and certainly not in daily use. Ash I don't know your back story but I will be thinking of you and your wonderful reunion. Have a good day everyone. Fingers crossed that health and other worries ease.

Georgesgran Wed 25-Aug-21 09:22:39

Good morning from a bright but grey Durham.
Babysitting DGS2 this afternoon to give Mummy and Daddy a break for a few hours.
Will return to a bit of gardening before that bin is collected. I wish there was an option to pay for collections all year as leaves from neighbouring trees target my garden.

Safe journey Ash.

Good morning all. It’s bright and sunny here in Lancashire. Temperature currently 15 deg C with a strong breeze.

Not much planned for today other than bathroom cleaning and possibly a short walk around the marina after usual physio exercises.

Welcome to any new posters. Congratulations to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs to anybody suffering.

Wishing you all the best day possible and some ease from any pain and worry.

Gymstagran Wed 25-Aug-21 09:39:20

Good late morning from Solihull. Its quite grey and dreary looking. I fell asleep downstairs and woke at midnight. Took ages to get back to sleep so woke late this morning. Dog ,cats and chickens fed. Mad five minutes throwing ball for dog to retrieve. She is now asleep. Hope BT open reach arrive today to fix the wires that next door builders cut through on Friday. I have no WiFi and am using lots of my 4g data. No other plans for today, maybe some weeding in the garden and a walk later. Hope everyone has a pleasant day.

Blossoming Wed 25-Aug-21 09:44:18

Just popping back to say glad to see you both here Urmstongran and Marydoll. I hope your breaks have done you good.

Grammaretto Wed 25-Aug-21 09:46:05

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is due to be another hot day today. Unfortunately I have had toothache so will be heading to the dentist later for some thing. Hopefully not an extraction.

Yarn group gossip first which is always fun. The sweater I knitted for my unsuspecting friend was very much appreciated.

Yesterday was spent in Edinburgh which felt en fête
at last in the sunshine.

I am glad you are well enough to travel Ash. Is Labyrinthitis the same as Vertigo? Do you feel dizzy and sick?
Happy hols Kalu and Marydoll

I began this an hour ago but had a long phone call from DS in NZ.

Have a happy day everyone.

LauraNorder Wed 25-Aug-21 09:57:24

Good morning Mick and all from the wonderful Isle of Anglesey. Last night’s sunset from my kitchen window promising sailors delight but greyish skies are letting us down.
Thank you for sharing the Malaga sunshine Urms, looks fabulous. Welcome back.
Bon voyage Ash and happy reunion.
Paperwork for me today.
Wishing a lovely day to all and sundry, from Orkney to Tasmania and everywhere in between. ?

dustyangel Wed 25-Aug-21 09:58:07

Good morning all from Portugal. I’ve not read anything yet but I’ve seen several photographs all with different amounts of light in them.
When I looked out earlier I thought it had been raining as the ground looked soaked but DH called out that it was such thick mist that he couldn’t see the end of the patio.
I wonder what today will bring.

luluaugust Wed 25-Aug-21 10:10:58

Good morning from a still overcast West Kent, pleased to report DH now back home and looking better already, just a wait for results now.
Quiet day here, perhaps a bit of cake eating smile
Safe journeys and happy hols to all enjoying a break from the daily routine. Thinking of others dealing with health worries.

Grandmajean Wed 25-Aug-21 10:24:10

Love that picLauranorder Sadly , dull here in Cheshire too - oh ! Sun just come out !
Hope your DIL is getting good care. It is probably still a waiting game while tests are completed if I remember correctly but I think of you and her often.

Kalu Wed 25-Aug-21 10:35:45

Oh your poor GD Stilllearning. I hope she is not in too much pain and heals quickly. A dreadful thing to happen to her caused by some selfish individual.

LauraNorder Wed 25-Aug-21 10:36:45

Thank you Grandmajean. My daughter-in-law saw the oncologist yesterday and chemo begins on Tuesday every three weeks for six sessions. Then the operation to remove tumour and lymph nodes followed by medication for several years to follow. She’s feeling much more assured as the oncologist was very positive about a full recovery. Thank goodness.
A mountain to climb but an end always in sight.

Feelingmyage55 Wed 25-Aug-21 10:49:24

Good morning from a bright north of Scotland.
If the weather stays fine a friend will drop round for tea in the afternoon and we will talk gardening. She is a fount of knowledge so I always learn something.
Nice to see your photos urms, Marydoll and LauraNorder.

aggie Wed 25-Aug-21 10:50:33

Good morning all, it was very Misty earlier but very sunny now .
Our club committee was due to meet this morning with hopes of restarting next Wednesday morning but our chairman phoned to cancel last night as he is isolating due to his granddaughter testing positive !
Nice to catch up with some of our posters having a sabbatical ?

EkwaNimitee Wed 25-Aug-21 11:11:20

Good morning, Mick and everyone from sunny warm Carlisle.
Full of headache and backache this morning. Whether it's from hauling stuff about to make room for the new furniture or something else, I know not. I've been reluctantly driven to the paracetamol bottle.
I hope you have a very pleasant trip, Ashcombe and a happy reunion with olddudders.
Indeed, happy holidays, happy days, everyone.
