Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey but dry here in brackley this morning, today will be an easy going day for me .
Apart from a small shop early , i will later watch the drama of the Vuelta unfold as it enters the Sierra Nevada mountains range this week.
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Wednesday 25 August 2021
(51 Posts)Good morning from an overcast E Kent. We are promised sunshine today. Glasgow is getting the warmest and best weather with this “high” stuck over us!
My monthly craft group today. I do enjoy seeing thes ladies. Such a change from staying at home.
Got the week’s laundry to sort out before I go…
DS is much better, although still a bit fragile. Thank you all for your concern.
Have a great day. Missing all our absent posters, some of whom seem to have disappeared for months. ????☀️??
Good morning, everyone from a bright and (becoming) sunny Torbay.
That’s good news about your DS, grandMattie! I hope he continues to recover. Yes, this thread is the poorer for the absence of some regular contributors.
The photos show the contrast between the tranquility of this morning and the busy scene yesterday.

The police activity which unfolded in front of us as my DS and family had lunch in my home yesterday, for which we had a ringside view. There was a huge police presence on the park! Five cars, a paramedic vehicle, an ambulance and a police van descended on this normally quiet area. Chaos ensued with traffic trying to negotiate its way through the vehicles. All those resources for one man who eventually was taken away in an ambulance!
By way of a contrast, my family visited the Model Village after bidding me farewell. I'm feeling quite well today which is good news for my drive to Portsmouth Travelodge.
Best wishes to all with problems of any kind. ?☀️?
Good morning from a bright, dry Colchester.
Up early as DGS1 is off to fly model planes with his other grandad this morning, so we need to get him fed, washed and dressed. He's 10 but is almost as tall as me. I often forget that he's still a child.
The rest of us are playing the day by ear. I have a load of sandy clothes for the machine from yesterday's beach trip.
Love to all x
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s cloudy and fresh.
I’ve just let grand dog out and he cocked his leg on my hydrangea….he knows!
After a walk I expect it will be a day pottering in the garden.
Have a safe journey Ash and I’ll go back and read about your nearby shenanigans.
Have a good day all and take care ?
Ash, I forgot to wish you bon voyage to France and hope you have a lovely time there. Best wishes to oldd too.
I get labyrinthitis too and it does get better, although I have the occasional attack which fells me. At least, I always have my "wonky" pills around so that as soon as I feel an attack coming, I can generally stop it.
Good morning everyone. N. Bucks is overcast at the moment but will probably clear later.
Ashcombe hope you have a lovely reunion .
It was lovely yesterday to have messages from two lots of friends asking when we can meet up.
No particular plans today. We have a delivery due in an hour or so and this evening I have a WI committee meeting.
Wishing you all a good day with a smile or two along th way.
Good morning everyone from Malaga! It’s lovely to be back from my self inflicted sabbatical.
Our little family returned to Manchester yesterday, after a wonderful 3 week holiday here. Boy, it’s been hot. ? Quiet times are now resumed. We ate out every night and to be honest although very nice, not picking up a menu last night and making some pasta, eating on our tiny balcony was just the ticket!
Today we might go to the beach. Or not. If not, I fancy a stroll into Arroyo de la Miel. I like the buzziness of the town. See photos taken last week. The infection rate here is 243 per 100,000 people. I read a few days ago that it was 1,100 in Newquay! We have 3 more weeks here just to chill.
Hope everyone has a good Wednesday. How wonderful to read you’re setting off towards France today Ashcombe! x
Good morning Mick and the GM team from mild east London. We expect some sun today.
Ash wishing you a safe journey and a happy time in France. I also have labrynthitis. I am reasonably able to manage it, I recognise when I am building up to an episode and self medicate before it becomes too severe.
I record my meds in a daily diary and I can track my symptoms and manage my condition.
I think feeling you have some control and some options is the key to living with any chronic condition. I hope all goes well for you. ?
My partner has an MRI scan today. Fingers crossed all goes well. It’s not a pleasant experience, is it?
I am having a pub lunch with a friend, so am looking forward to that. After shielding for sooooo long, I am still extremely careful when I go out.
Wishing everyone a pleasant day, good thoughts to those who are facing challenges. Let’s be careful out there. ?
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a misty start to the day but hopefully that’ll burn off later. Yesterday was a gorgeous warm sunny day so I made the most of it in the garden
Today quite a busy day, I’m off to the gym first and then meeting a friend for coffee and a catch up. Later on I’m looking forward to watching DGS play football and probably taking DGD to the park next to the football pitch.
Have a safe journey Ash and a happy reunion later with olddudders - you’ve waited long enough!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning from a bright, dewy Essex. Autumn is a-comin in!
Today is my gd2’s 15th birthday. We will go round for a bar b q at 1 oclock. She’s a really lovely girl. (I know we all say that) ?.
Before that
, I will dog walk with my old pal/neighbour and catch up with all the news/gossip while we’ve been away in Suffolk.
Safe journey Ash
Take care and keep safe. ?
Good morning from a misty NE.
Have been up since 5am, watched some TV and brought a cup of tea back to bed.
Yesterday was a sunny day and I sat in the garden and read my book. I did use the hoe on the patio moss but I can only manage a short time of activity so it will take time.
Need to sort the fridge today as we have two food deliveries tomorrow, not convinced everything will go in.
Safe journey Ashcombe.
Morning Mick and all
No sun as of yet here in S E Essex
Bon Voyage Ashcombe good news regarding your son Grandmattie
I am off to the gym this morning whilst the cleaners work their magic.
Like others I am missing regular posters
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Welcome back urmstongran and thanks for the lovely pictures!
Good morning to Mick and all who follow. Very cloudy here today in the Black country.
Again nothing planned although I shall walk to charity shop I have some things to take, will probably walk back through the park.
Will read through everyone's happenings later. Ash have a safe journey, not long now till your together again.
Welcome to any newbies, virtual hugs for those that need.
Enjoy your day and may you all find some ?.
Nice to see you back Urmstongran and thanks for the sunny photos just what we need.
Wonderful to see you posting Urmstongran ?♀️??
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cloudy cool South Yorkshire. We are picking up GS this morning to come here for an overnight. DH is taking him to a local nine hole golf course this morning and then he is making meatballs with me this afternoon. He wants to try and replicate the IKEA recipe. I have no idea what they should taste like but no doubt
he will tell me if they don’t meet the standard?!
Ash have a good safe journey and a happy reunion.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning all from grey Harrogate
Yesterday when I washed my curtains, I also washed the black out linings. Well they looked like my skin- all saggy and baggy, but I will say, they have dried not too bad and still seem effective, but I don’t think I’ll chance it again!
This am we have to pick up DDs click and collect shopping while she self isolates then I’ll do another test before going shopping myself. Just to make sure I’m OK.
The last time I had an episode of labarinthitis, was when we were visiting St Paul’s Cathedral, and we went up a spiral staircase to the Whispering Gallery. I was too busy hanging on for dear life to concentrate.
Have a safe journey Ash. You will probably be the best medicine that OldDudders can have.
Keep safe and keep well folks!!
??
Good morning everyone from a dull and overcast Northampton. Just sat down with my mug of tea and a cat appears from nowhere and leaps onto my lap. She knows when to come for her morning cuddle!
Had a pleasant health walk yesterday, although my friend who gives me a lift rang to say she wouldn't be going as she had a sore throat. So I decided to walk to the start point - a good half hour - then did the 45 minute walk in pleasant company, then a visit to the cafe, and then did the half-hour home again. So I more than met my target yesterday!
Big step forward hopefully today! I haven't been on a bus since the first lockdown, and this morning will be the first time. I have someone coming with me to give me a bit of moral support so fingers crossed all goes well. If I can conquer this then I hope it will give me confidence to get out and about a bit more.
Book club this afternoon which I am looking forward to.
Hope all goes well for you Ash. And good wishes to all for a pleasant day.
Good morning all from Glasgow. I am taking advantage of a cooler hour of the day to have my kick start espresso al fresco where the only sound is that of birds vying for a space at the feeders.
As I was in the area yesterday afternoon I decided to surprise both GDs and picked them up from school. Poor girls looked exhausted, a full day in a hot classroom, wearing masks in class, they were delighted when Granny saved them a long walk home in the heat.
We have decided to go up to the but n ben in Perthshire tomorrow. Time for a thorough clean and bed changes after family visits after which, we can enjoy this spell of good weather.
Marydoll is also enjoying a break, on the east coast.
Have a pleasant day all. Best wishes to those who have worries and illness, I hope today is more positive for you.
Good morning from N Bucks where it is overcast and grey.
I am hoping it might clear up the way Monday and Tuesday did as I have friends coming to lunch and it would be nice to be able to have it outside - it always feels more relaxed.
Wishing you all a pleasant day and safe journeys if you are heading off somewhere nice.
Good to see you back Urms. You have been missed.
Pleased to hear you had some family time too. Enjoy the rest of your stay. ?.
Greyduster thé secret of IKEA meatballs is the sauce, very tasty. Hope your dish passes muster for your GS’s approval.
Morning from a sunny S Lanarkshire.
Welcome back Urmstongran, you have been missed, glad you and your family have had such a happy holiday together.
Safe journey Ashcombe and good wishes to your DH, looking forward to updates from your ‘other’ life.
After returning home yesterday I had to go up to my daughter’s family at the farm. They were at a local wedding on Saturday and my eldest GD stood on broken glass in the marquee. She has had to have several pieces removed under general anaesthetic and will be on crutches for at least two weeks. She missed her first day back in school but will return today. How selfish people are to know they have dropped a class and not bother. Anyhow, very grateful it’s not any worse.
Wishing everyone a good day??
