Morning all, rather late in the day now to say today is our 61st wedding @anniversary, last year our Diamond was rather cut short but a lovely family picnic in a local park brought them all together for a couple of hours. No real celebration today, never gone in for BIG events .
Sad to see posters are missing .??

Happy Birthday Urms

I think our dear EV has been banned by HQ.

I miss her posts very much and I am worried to read that your email to her didn't get through. Was it a private email or through a gransnet PM?

Good morning Mick and all. It’s bright and sunny again here in Lancashire. Temperature currently 17 deg C.

Not much planned for today other than housework and a short walk around the marina after usual physio exercises.

Welcome to any new posters. Congratulations to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs to anybody suffering.

Wishing a safe journey to anybody traveling.

Have the best day possible.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. This bit of South Yorkshire’s weather is contradicting Mapleleaf’s as the sun is now breaking through. Hope it will be there, too! GS spent another night here - not sure he wanted to, I think he was getting a bit homesick, but after taking him to his evening running training session it was late so it seemed ridiculous to drive him all the way home, or drag his dad out to fetch him. DD will pick him up this morning. The dentist gave DH antibiotics but can’t find anything wrong with his aching tooth. He had a better night though. We will have a gentle day and I wish all of you the same.
Ash very glad you are in situ with Olddudders at long last. Lovely photo!
Happy Birthday Urms ?? and anyone else who has one today.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 27-Aug-21 09:06:12

Happy Birthday Urmstongran ??? ?

Enjoy your day in Mijas (one of our favourite places, we stayed in The Mijas Hotel when my sister got married out there many years ago)

Good morning everyone from a very grey and dull Northampton. Feels chilly indoors.

Have just done a lateral flow test as I am off to DD's for the weekend, and I have been out and about this week. Only a few minutes left to wait till the timer goes.

Must change the bedding today, it'll be nice to come back to clean sheets. Expecting a parcel from Sainsbury's clothing, replacements for the clothes I had to return earlier this week, which were much too big. No other plans really till DD arrives after her riding lesson to pick me up. I have fizz and home-made chocolate brownies to take to DD's.

Lovely picture Ash, hope you have a wonderful time in la belle France.
Happy birthday ? Urmston, and belated happy birthday ? to Beechnut.

LF test negative, thank goodness. Take care Scentia, and hope you start to feel better soon.

Wishes to all for a pleasant day.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning Mick and all his followers. I didn’t know there was a women’s cycle race in the UK. Will you have to travel to see it?
Step DGD coming for lunch before she starts her evening shift at the pub. 20 of the staff have Covid after a leaving party, so she is working a lot of shifts.

I wish we had the warm sunny weather - cool winds and grey skies yesterday in the east. The occasional rain was enough to stop the decorator. Next week we get fencers as well, to replace our neighbours old flint wall which fell down over a year ago. That will mean we can finish the flower bed up there and plant up my remaining plants!
Happy birthday Urms!
Ok, steak pie has been requested for lunch, so I need to get moving.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Urmstongran Fri 27-Aug-21 08:38:02

Good morning everyone from Malaga where we have 34°C today, sunny with a gentle breeze.

Thank you for remembering it’s my birthday Beechnut. Mind you as yours is the day before mine no wonder we both think of each other!

I’ve chosen a visit up into the lovely white town of Mijas Pueblo to celebrate. We will get the bus up from Arroyo de la Miel. It’s a steep climb and pretty vertiginous so I shall sit on the inner seats away from the sheer cliff edge! It’s a classy place. A lot of pedestrianisation went on 4 years ago with roads being dug up, concrete dust everywhere, lots of construction taking place, so we avoided it for a couple of years. We last visited 2 years ago and haven’t been since due to the covid restrictions so today I’m really looking forward to it. We plan to have lunch in my favourite restaurant on the Calle San Sebastián, all being well.

Glad to hear you’re in France Ashcombe!

By the way, where’s EV? Our queen of the toasted crumpets? I tried to p.m. her yesterday without success.

Enjoy the day all who can. x

Mapleleaf Fri 27-Aug-21 08:33:35

Good morning,

Another dull looking start to the day, with some drizzle a little while ago. Not sure if the sun will break through but it’s not looking promising.

The robin has just appeared on the fence, which is cheering to see as the birds have been hiding away this last few weeks. I believe they start to have a moult so need to hide away as they are a bit more vulnerable.

Lovely to see you’ve arrived safely Ashcombe and wish you a lovely time in France.

Take care everyone ?

ginny Fri 27-Aug-21 08:31:20

Good morning all. Enjoyed my two outings yesterday but although I was careful what I ate my stomach certainly complained last night !

Happy Birthday Urms and belated greetings to Beechnut.

A bits and pieces day for me and hopefully a delivery of a new lightweight vacumn cleaner.

Kind thoughts to all with worries ,, hope you all find a smile in the day.

Gelisajams Fri 27-Aug-21 08:29:06

Happy birthday Urmston have a lovely day.

Gelisajams Fri 27-Aug-21 08:28:00

Good morning from a cloudy Morecambe Bay. My phone says it’s 10 degrees. Hopefully it will warm up as shed painting is on today’s agenda. I will break mid day if I haven’t finished as I have a circuits class booked at the gym.
Yesterday the smart meter which was fitted yesterday turned out to be not so smart. It refused to connect to whatever it’s supposed to connect to. We have to have it so we can get cheaper night time electricity for charging the electric car. There’s no rush for those who have access to cyber space to sort it as at the moment as we don’t have a delivery date for the car. I suspect it will arrive while we are away next month.
Lovely to see you in France at last Ash.
For those with suspected Covid I hope you feel better soon.
Take care everyone and stay safe ?

Oldbutstilluseful Fri 27-Aug-21 08:27:58

Good morning from yet another dull weather day in North Hants. Your smile says it all Ash, reunited at last. Best wishes to you and Olddudders for a long, sunny time together.
It’s lovely to know all is well in Malaga, Urms cheerful posts are just the tonic we need. Happy birthday ?? Urms.
Quiet day today, must do some ironing and plant some pansies to cheer up my front door.
There is a lot of heartache and upset on Mick’s gentle thread, so I wish all who are suffering to find solace from their pain and comfort in knowing so many of us are thinking of you.

Stilllearning Fri 27-Aug-21 08:24:18

Morning from S Lanarkshire, lovely and bright here.

I’’ve a day of preparation ahead, I’m off tomorrow to look after my Oban grandchildren for a week, while their parents are separately engaged in work related travel. Normally they can plan this to happen while one of them is at home but this time granny is required and delighted to be so.
DGS is in secondary school and DGD is in her last year of primary so it will not be too laborious and I am looking forward so much to being with them, first time in 18 months. They have been very good at FaceTiming but it’s definitely not the same.

Lovely picture Ash, you look so happy!

Hope you don’t feel too bad Scentia and manage your childcare.

Probably won’t post much over the next few days but wish everyone a good day/week??

Gingster Fri 27-Aug-21 08:22:52

Scentia sorry to hear you’re not in the clear. Take care of yourself. Im Not sure what I would do re NANNA duties. It’s a sticky one. Not much help am I? ?. I’m sure things will sort themselves out. ?

Scentia Fri 27-Aug-21 08:22:27

Just got my PCR results and I am indeed positive as I thought?

monk08 Fri 27-Aug-21 08:22:15
