Yes use it all the time. Home bargains make a cheap version and it works just fine.

I find the root spray very useful and easy to use. It's a handy quick fix in between visits to the hairdresser.

I hold the can about 8" above the head and spray in a quick ziz-zag down the parting.

I’ve tried it several times Espee, last time twice in the winter lockdown, but it’s not for me- the back of my head gives me away as I can’t see what I’m doing, so when I touch up the roots it looks patchy, and although I agree the conditioner that comes with the dye is excellent it doesn’t last long enough to use it every time, so my hair becomes dry over time. The root spray and a monthly visit to the hairdresser is easier!

Esspee

May I ask why those who use it don’t simply do their roots with regular hair colouring? I do and the results are excellent. I use half a packet so relatively inexpensive.
I have seen some shocking sights on ladies who presumably have poor eyesight.

I do my own roots usually and get a great finish. It took a while for me to get used to doing it, but I've got the technique down pat now. I now use a Japanese hair dye (Syoss) and it is fantastic. Much better than any of the UK/US dyes I've used.

But right now, I'm considering my options. Going grey is probably not one of them, but until I can get my hair cut/styled, I'm not that bothered about the in-between stage. I might go lighter, in which case, allowing the grey to grow out is a good idea.

I really don't care how it looks in public. My hair, on my head, my concern only. I ONLY care about how I look for work, which is online at the moment, hence only doing the roots around my face and my parting!

I use it inbetween dying my hair but.... word of advice ( hahaha ) don't do as i did, which was to position my glasses on top of my head then when needed them, i placed them in front of my eyes, when i removed them to push them back to the top of my head i had 2 brown marks under my eyes hahahahahaha.... oooops

Esspee I have blonde highlights on a brown base and don’t want to interfere with the highlights. If I used a box colour, I would ruin them.
As others have said, the root spray is excellent between hairdressers appointments, which reminds me, I need to go!

My friend suggested Berkowits No Grey Root Touch Up, and they got instant results with this product. It is light-weight and easy to apply. The coverage looks natural, and it blends seamlessly with the hair. Plus, it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, making it a great choice for quick touch-ups.
