Sounds of a Sunday morning

New sound - our neighbour hoovering his lawn! We are on a row of 6 houses, 3 of which now have artificial lawns. Our slightly scrubbby patch is covered with fallen leaves now. Some of which probably drifted across to neigbours. I love to see the changing seasons. A flat bright green lawn does nothing for me.

No difference here, it is always quiet. People have those fake lawns round their pools sometimes because they are not slippery and don’t go muddy when they are walked on. Wouldn’t have one, personally, because we have bricks round the edge of ours and lots of tall trees which shed leaves all the time. Actually I don’t really like fake plants at all, rather have concrete or gravel or even tan bark.

Sue Donim DH and I saw Kris a few years ago too. Went all the way to Kilkenny in Ireland to see him. He was great, he forgot the words to some of the songs, but it didn't matter. At the end people were allowed to go up to the stage and shake hands with him. DH managed to get to the front and shake his hand, but being short and small I couldn't get anywhere near him!
OP also sorry to hijack your post. I've had it done to me a few times and know how annoying it is. Sunday sounds around here are also of people moving their lawns.

Birds always a sound I love they cheep away while waiting on the fence to be fed. We have not heard the church bells since COVID here. It’s very quiet until the young families are out in their gardens. I like hearing children giggle playing in the paddling pools. It takes me back to when our son and daughter were children such lovely memories.
We have a railway line that runs parallel with our road there’s about one train an hour on a Sunday. We don’t even notice the trains so it doesn’t bother us.
The only thing that spoils the peace is the unmarried boring idiot next door. His lawn is about six foot square but he takes hours mowing it with his industrial sized petrol mower.

KK lovers, no worries about hijacking thread. That song often goes through my head on a Sunday, along with Kinks Sunny Afternoon. I went to see KK at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester in the 70s and wore out my copy of Silver Tongued Devil.
