I'm certainly not a fan of PM and don't watch GMTV but am wondering if he'll be re instated.

Really?! Perceptions may vary ?
But I wouldn't think he would have been scintillating company

i like your witty comment callistemon

oh come on……A young man who I suspect was once both sexy and charming That’s as maybe but there’s not a lot going on between the ears.

Lucca Thu 02-Sept-21 19:19:32

Indeed plus none of us is young …..
I don’t think was whining at the time

Galaxy Thu 02-Sept-21 19:08:12

I think it's probably a dilemma most of us don't need to worry about grin

*obviously the harry date was more considered more fruitful by mm*

Hmm. Let’s think would you be more likely to fancy spending more time with young Harry? Or middle aged not very attractive at the best of times Piers?

Answers on a postcard….

Can't stand whining so I'm afraid it wouldn't be Harry. Not sure it would be PM either although if it has to be one or the other it would have to be him. I think I'd prefer a bar of chocolate, a cup of tea, a good book and a pleasant evening all by myself.

i dont think spending time with either one would appeal to me

depends which one might best advance a career maybe

some unattractive middle aged man can be interesting and likeable
why measure everything on looks or youth

A bit catty but you’ve clearly decided.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 02-Sept-21 18:43:56

maddyone yes I agree.

But although I didn’t watch the actual programme, it does sound that he was extremely crass and there was not a lot of decency in his rant.

Still I guess it is what some people enjoy, although it isn’t something that rocks my boat.

I wish people would understand the issue in relation to the bill the government is intending to,pass.

Allsorts Thu 02-Sept-21 18:43:16

Can’t watch Piers! However I agree with the decision.. rather spend an evening with Piers with whom I would disagree about almost everything, rather than a minute with either Harry or Megan, what a pair of self obsessed divas. All their drippy speak my truth comments, good job there’s no lie detector on them. If they really want to help tge environment and save the environment, down size to a flat, get a job, earn money and give the rest to charities they say they support. No more air travel get a bike, that would mean they can’t come back here.

maddyone ? well said.

JaneJudge Thu 02-Sept-21 18:35:27

I'd rather spend time with my dog than any of them for what it is worth

Love him or hate him, this ruling is not actually about PM, but about free speech in the media. It was clearly stated that a journalist is allowed to express an opinion, so long as it is robustly challenged, in other words, the discussion is balanced. I think it is the right decision.
GMB is not actually a news programme, although it covers topical events, and the main headlines. I think the term is ‘magazine.’ It is a magazine type programme. A straight news bulletin would The News at Ten, or similar. Incidentally I have never watched GMB and I didn’t see PM and therefore don’t have a clear idea of what happened, I only know what reportedly happened, but it doesn’t matter because the ruling is what’s important, not what PM said.

That covers everything I was going to say ?

If I was MM's age and looking for a Prince, then Harry, possibly.

But, although I find PM incredibly annoying but can be outrageously funny, at my age I'd rather spend an evening with him and hear all the gossip than the increasingly boring, self-absorbed Harry.

Lucca Thu 02-Sept-21 18:27:04

Yes. Celia Walden apparently

Doesn’t PM have a wife?

yes a rather attractive one, not that I normally comment on peoples looks but she's stunning iirc blush <goes to feminist hell>

No spin just an ability to recognise that kind of behaviour in a man. I am glad that you havent had the experience which enables you to recognise it.

love0c Thu 02-Sept-21 17:10:17

To pull strings is 'to use ones's status or influence to gain an advantage'. What is there not to understand?? smile.

Lillie Thu 02-Sept-21 16:37:47

i have no idea but i think i remember pm offered to set her up with loads of contacts in tv media and they agreed to check in on another occasion
obviously the harry date was more considered more fruitful by mm
maybe he is miffed she never got back to him to explain her absence though to my mind the reason is there for all to see

Alegrias1 Thu 02-Sept-21 16:12:49

Quote from Piers:

We had two hours in the pub, she had a couple of dirty martinis and pints - we got on brilliantly,’ he said of the meeting during an appearance on the Late Late Show. ‘Then I put her in a cab, and it turns out it was the cab that took her to a party where she met Prince Harry. The next night they had a solo dinner and that was the last I ever heard from Meghan Markle. I never heard from her again - Meghan Markle ghosted me.

Poor lamb, he's being ignored.

Yes London I agree completely nobody should be cheering on a mans creepy behaviour because a woman said no to him. That's not good for any women.

How to put a spin on a story! ?

Have you ever thought of working in journalism?

That really doesn't represent what happened.
