Has society lost its humanity? are all sales people the same?

Sorry for your loss. Some people just seem to lack initiative or ability to divert from set procedures.

My mother died a few weeks ago. Last week a jury summons arrived for her. I contacted the office to explain the situation. A letter arrived for her this morning telling her she was excused from jury service on this occasion and did not need to attend the court on the date originally notified !!!

Obviously a standard letter that someone hadn't the common sense to realise was inappropriate on this occasion.

Hello kjmpde sorry for your loss and the way that you have been treated. I agree with cornergran it is down to them not listening because they just have a set script to follow. They seem to be so intent as you say on getting a sale that they do not actually hear what you are saying.

I totally agree with cornergran, people just don’t listen. I was talking to a dog walking friend shortly after my husband died….she kept repeating ….’but how is he?’ In the end I had to shout that he was dead.

I know you aren’t seeking sympathy but please accept my condolences on the loss of your brother. My best guess is the people you have spoken to simply didn’t listen to you, they were rather following a well rehearsed script. Not an excuse for sure. There is much thoughtfulness in the world but sadly much lack of thought around bereavement. I hope your next conversation is with someone who listens, has more understanding and also better training.
