I'm in Norfolk at the moment, fishing, I've rented a lodge and the swim is an out the front so the dog and I are in bliss for me 7 nights.

Afternoon all. Just zipping in and out. Have not read posts and hope all are as well as possible. Looking after grandchildren this morning. Beautiful here in the Borders and further good weather forecast. Uplifting. DD has arrived. Wonderful. Take care everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest Lancashire coast where the washing is basking in the sun.
Yesterday I visited my dear son, holding a delayed ‘wake’ in his back garden for his neighbour. My usual route through the city centre was blocked off with extensive roadworks and I found myself thrown on the one way system to find the other route I know. It was such a nice occasion, barbecue, good conversation and a very worried Afghanistan refugee. Being a translator for the British as was his father, he was in a sombre mood wondering what would happen to his family.
As it darkened, the large table was covered in tea lights and it was lovely to enjoy good companionship and conversation again. I fear I talked far too much…

The sun has been trying hard to shine this morning as Greyduster says, but it's beginning to cloud over again, so not sure how the day is going to turn out.

Did a lot of jobs yesterday both indoors and in the garden. I harvested the garlic I'd planted, but have to say I'm somewhat disappointed at how small they are. Never tried growing them before and doubt I will again. To be honest, this year has been pretty poor harvest wise - I've had nowhere near the usual tomato harvest this year, and as for the peppers, only two grew to anything like they should do, stayed green and one of them has been munched! I've tried growing them for 3 years now with the same result, so that's it for peppers, too ?. On the other hand, the chilli plant has done rather well, so will have another go next year as have the potatoes I grew in bags. I suppose that's part and parcel of gardening - you have some successes and some failures.

Welcome, Ullabirgitta. I have Swedish friends who live in the Stockholm area, so reading anything about Sweden is always of interest to me. It sounds pretty chilly in the morning over there just now.

It's so nice to read of so many of us starting to be out and about more, doing normal things and able to see our precious family and friends again. Those of you out and about today, enjoy yourselves.

Today, I plan a less busy day housework wise, and when DH gets home I think we might just pop out somewhere for some lunch or perhaps tea later. Decisions, descisions ?

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is trying to shine but it keeps clouding over. We are promised some hot weather for the beginning of this week.

DH and I spent the day on the boat yesterday getting it ready for our magical mystery tour tomorrow. I did loads of cleaning and could hardly walk when we got home. This will be our first overnight trip and I am in two minds about it.

DH has gone to the children's rugby this morning, first time back this season. We are going to the yacht club later for a drink then it's the Grand Prix and football later.

Good Morning from a sunny Algarve where we have at last got visiting family.
Grandson only to start with, although he had a long, convoluted journey yesterday to get here for a few days before the rest of the family. He’s already rearranged furniture, been shopping and was outside eating breakfast before I surfaced. He’s now planning to go to Primart as soon as it opens so that he can buy some tee shirts to leave here in between visits. I’m glad he feels at home. ?

Good morning from Durham on what promises to be a lovely day, weather wise. Still sitting on DD2’s dogs while her DH recovers (very slowly)! I’d forgotten how tying they are, but I’ve had to leave them for a couple of long periods to help out DD1 and DGS. The dogs are company, but I’ll be pleased when they go home and back to only having them a couple of days a fortnight.
DD2, Baby and I hope to do something today - perhaps a ride up the coast to Amble or Seahouses - I’ll leave the choice to her.
Pleased to see Posters back from isolation and especially pleased that the Harries managed to get out together.

Good morning everyone from Durham as we are back from our three day break in the borders. A lovely 7.5 mile walk around the Kelso area (not Melrose.....reminder to really listen to DH when he's speaking) with unexpected sunshine on Thursday.

We spent Friday wandering around a very grey, wet Selkirk which was extremely quiet and enjoyed a visit to Walter Scott's courtroom which proved to be very interesting, then drove into Hawick for lunch. Some delicious evening meals out so the diet resumes today.

Some sunshine is in the sky so washing beckons and I may even be able to hang it outside.

Ekwa, those Velcro strips really work! I have several pictures that have been securely fixed for years. DH always used four on each picture, one in each corner.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton. More gardening today, then sit in the sun with my new book and the papers.
I trimmed back two very overgrown shrubs yesterday, a ceanothus and a hebe, then cut the back grass. I need to prune an espalier Apple tree today and a large buddleia. Watered everything and found out that the watering-can has a leak! Will try sealing it up with duct tape or similar until I can get a new one.

Good morning, Mick and all from sunny Carlisle. You reminded me, Mick, that the Tour of Britain is starting, it has a start in Carlisle in a few days. I can't decide whether to go and watch that or watch when it passes through nearby Dalston a bit later. I saw it pass through Whitehaven a few years ago on their way south from southern Scotland. The weather was appalling, strong winds and torrential rain so they were delayed getting to us. They came roaring down the hill towards the harbour and were gone in a big wet blur! You couldn't recognise any one of course.

I'm hoping to potter in the garden today and intending to try a bit of picture hanging. I've never done it before. Instead of putting hooks into the walls, I'm trying these velcro-like strips that are supposed to reliably hold quite heavy things. I'm a bit cynical in spite of good reviews and recommendations from others. I'll try something lightweight first and see how it goes.

Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

DH and I had a lovely walk with the little pooch yesterday. We called in to collect the local honey which I’d ordered, wandered around our lovely park, had coffee and cake sitting outside one of the cafes then I popped into the butcher, baker and card shop before we meandered home. Very pleasant altogether.

Today DH is volunteering as a litter picker in the park and I’m going to mass which I’ve taken to doing since the church reopened. I’m enjoying the contemplative routine of it.

We’ll see what this afternoon brings, nothing planned.
