David Olosoga. He's an informed historian, looks interesting, dresses well and probably has good table manners

Nelson Mandela ! Enough said!

I'd go for Kathy Burke I think.Very down to earth and, as a friend, I think she'd always have your back.

Simon Armitage, the poet. I heard him speak at the Bridport Literary Festival; he’s interesting, modest, humane.

In general I don’t like celebrities but I would love to be friend’s Jay Blade . I love to upcycle, reuse and live as sustainable as I can so I think he be great to hang about with . He also has the same music taste as me.

Ben Fogle. Because he is an adventurer and has a lovely way with animals. Nothing deters him, always ready to face whatever situation he finds himself in.

I think I'd like Liza Tarbuck as a best friend, and Jenny Eclair as I think they'd be entertaining.

Jeremy Clarkson. Good fun.

Dawn French. I think even when she's not acting, she would have a great sense of humour and be good fun. Otherwise, Jay Blades from The Repair Shop. Such talent.

Dee1012 and Miss Adventure - well Billy Connolly would be my last choice. He reals spoils himself with his foul mouth. Give me Ben Fogle any day! But each to their own as they say! And Ben is such a dish!

Meant really not reals! The thought of Ben Fogle getting me hot under the collar!

Pete burns fell off a ladder getting me a record from a string on the ceiling in Probe Liverpool circa 1981. He wasn't best pleased. I loved his look before he hit the fillers.

Joanna Lumley as Patsy!….?
Exactly who I was going to say!
Funny , attractive, classy and intelligent!
Bit of a woman crush!

Clawdy Wed 08-Sep-21 21:58:21

Maureen Lipman - she'd be fun and great company.

Atqui Wed 08-Sep-21 22:34:56

Dawn French or Fern Britain- would say Monty Don but he’s too fanciable to be just a friend!!

Michael Caine for me. He gives such a great interview and always has so many amusing stories to tell. I could listen to him for hours.

Paul O Grady love his dry sense of humour love of animals and enjoys a good night out on the tiles occasionally

My friend IS George Megan, the man who walked America. I have known him since we were 12. The best celebrity you have never heard of.

gmarie Thu 09-Sep-21 08:09:56

Carol Burnett or Betty White. For a guy friend, Sir Patrick Stewart. smile

Victoria Coren always seems fascinating to me - really funny and intelligent and an expert poker player of all things. I’d also be more than happy if she brought her husband along as well!

M0nica Thu 09-Sep-21 10:23:35

My best friend and I have known each other since we were 13. No one, famous or not, will ever supplant her in my affections.
