I’d love to have Miriam Margolyes ?

If I can have a dead person (if you see what I mean) then I'd pick Peter Ustinov - funny and clever, a brilliant actor, pianist and raconteur; time spent with him would be a glorious pot-pourri of laughter and spellbinding tales.

Simon Reeves and Ben Fogle. They both seem such really lovely blokes and I'd love hearing first hand of their adventures all over the world.

Yes, but I always look at them and think "You'd make a lovely SIL".

I must be getting old!

David Attenborough

If he was still with us,Roy Orbison, under the polished stage persona he was a sweet kind caring funny man,

I know, I just saw it as a light-hearted "what if" kind of thread. Why would it set your teeth on edge?

I know it is not serious, but somehow it sets my teeth on edge.

Why ever?

My best friend and I have known each other since we were 13. No one, famous or not, will ever supplant her in my affections.

I don't think you have to give up your current friends. And this thread is probably not that serious either.

Sandi Toksvig looks like she could be fun and if she’s available Dawn French would be on my list too. I’d also quite like to chat with Dermot Murnaghan.

Victoria Coren always seems fascinating to me - really funny and intelligent and an expert poker player of all things. I’d also be more than happy if she brought her husband along as well!

I bet their dinner parties (if they give them) are the stuff of legend…

Carol Burnett or Betty White. For a guy friend, Sir Patrick Stewart. smile

My friend IS George Megan, the man who walked America. I have known him since we were 12. The best celebrity you have never heard of.

Paul O Grady love his dry sense of humour love of animals and enjoys a good night out on the tiles occasionally

Sawsage2 Thu 09-Sep-21 02:13:48

Bob Mortimer, we have same kind of humour. He's very kind.

Chestnut Wed 08-Sep-21 23:35:53

Michael Caine for me. He gives such a great interview and always has so many amusing stories to tell. I could listen to him for hours.

Atqui Wed 08-Sep-21 22:34:56

Dawn French or Fern Britain- would say Monty Don but he’s too fanciable to be just a friend!!

Clawdy Wed 08-Sep-21 21:58:21

Maureen Lipman - she'd be fun and great company.

Joanna Lumley as Patsy!….?
Exactly who I was going to say!
Funny , attractive, classy and intelligent!
Bit of a woman crush!

Pete burns fell off a ladder getting me a record from a string on the ceiling in Probe Liverpool circa 1981. He wasn't best pleased. I loved his look before he hit the fillers.

Meant really not reals! The thought of Ben Fogle getting me hot under the collar!

mrsgreenfingers56 Wed 08-Sep-21 21:18:50

Dee1012 and Miss Adventure - well Billy Connolly would be my last choice. He reals spoils himself with his foul mouth. Give me Ben Fogle any day! But each to their own as they say! And Ben is such a dish!
