I’d love to have Miriam Margolyes ?

Jane Austen. Mentally I’m about 250 like her. I’ve never heard of all these people, assume they’re off the telly.

I've just decided Bob Mortimer

Namsnanny Tue 07-Sept-21 12:04:24

Someone who would hug me, ring me to tell me their latest news, wont talk about me behind my back and has a robust SOH.?
I dont think any famous person has that much space in their life to do that, do you?

But there are plenty I could name that I would like to have a one to one chat with.

I would have Christine Lampard as she seems lovely. I would also have Tom Hardy as he's a big animal lover and he's extremely handsome smile

JaneJudge Tue 07-Sept-21 11:54:38

Just the one Lucca? I'd call that winning grin

DanniRae Tue 07-Sept-21 11:51:40

I would choose David Essex - I haven't a clue what he's like in real life but I would be happy to just look at his gorgeous face.

First reserve would be Colin Firth wink

Paul Sinha. Not sure what I'd talk about though, as I'm not really well versed in cricket and stuff. He just seems quiet, down to earth and not OTT.

Most of the people coming to mind are too intense, when I think about them, but that is probably their stage/screen persona. Privately, I expect they are glad if no one bothers them. I would probably bore them all to death.

Graham Norton. He loves his mum and his dogs and had a very good agony aunt column. Think of all the celebrity gossip he could share.

PinkCosmos Tue 07-Sept-21 11:08:30

Richard E Grant looks like a lovely bloke.

Ditto Julian Clary

I would like to be friends with both.

Rylan Clark (the one with the teeth) seems really nice but he has gone a bit over the top with his facial enhancements

Blondiescot Tue 07-Sept-21 10:59:32

Kathy Burke - she just comes across as a genuinely down-to-earth, lovely person. The various documentaries she's done are all really good - she can talk to anyone and seems really interested in them without being either condescending or fawning over them.

It’s tricky as the ones I think of like david Attenborough and Grayson Perry would make me feel rather inadequate ! And who wants that in a friend ! I already have at least one friend who is so much more intelligent knowledgable and talented than me

JaneJudge Tue 07-Sept-21 10:53:07

Grayson Perry and Phillipa

Zennomore Tue 07-Sept-21 10:52:04

@Eviebeanz Describing another woman as a “pig in a frock” is sickening ?

Eviebeanz Tue 07-Sept-21 10:49:48

I think he probably is the teeth one

Kandinsky Tue 07-Sept-21 10:47:01

Joanna lumley is too good looking.
I like friends who aren’t particularly attractive - makes me look better. Haha.

Lucca Tue 07-Sept-21 10:46:01

Eviebeanz

Rylan Clark

Is he the teeth one ?

nanna8 Tue 07-Sept-21 10:45:25

I am not keen on Miriam, either. What you see isn’t quite the reality of what is underneath the surface. I was thinking Joanna Lumley , I like her .

Lucca Tue 07-Sept-21 10:44:49

Gwenisgreat1

Lorraine Kelly, she seems down to earth!

I know this is bad but the squeaky voice would do my head in

henetha Tue 07-Sept-21 10:42:52

Chris Packham. He loves nature and fights for it. And he seems as weird as I am.

Blossoming Tue 07-Sept-21 10:39:34

Eviebeanz your unpleasant description of Miriam Margolyes has made up my mind. I want her for my celebrity friend, thank god she’s a normal human being with normal bodily functions who isn’t constantly obsessed with her own appearance!

Caleo Tue 07-Sept-21 10:32:47

Lewis Carroll

BlueBelle Tue 07-Sept-21 10:29:03

Nah thanks I really aren’t very keen on showbizzy people they are usually up their own asses anyway and I d have absolutely nothing in common with any of them, preferring to be out the limelight
I think Miriam M hides a very good heart under all the bad manners and coarse talk but I think she could be quite intimidating if you hadn’t enough in common a highly intelligent woman

No one mentioned in this thread so far has made me change my mind
if he were alive I would have loved to talk to Nelson Mandela but he’s not showbiz

maddyone Tue 07-Sept-21 10:20:23

None of them. I’d rather have th3 friends I’ve got.

Spinnaker Tue 07-Sept-21 10:07:54

What an hilarious description Eviebeanz - I've had to put my coffee down grin grin
