I like Croft Particular too when I can get it! Just had an amontillado!

Grandmadinosaur Mon 13-Sept-21 16:40:35

Grandmajean and the Sherry crew. Having a Sherry always reminds us of Nanna from The Royle Family. As she used to say a Sherry at Christmas, whisky at New Year, champagne at wedding ... ??

Neen Mon 13-Sept-21 16:22:11

Good afternoon from Suffolk,
It's gorgeous weather and a relaxed day here.
Of tomorrow to take 4 of my grandchildren to tea in Norwich. Should be interesting ha

Grandmajean Mon 13-Sept-21 16:14:37

Ooh ! Gingster I was embarrassed to admit to Bristol Cream as everyone says it's too sweet. It's called something else now but it's delicious . I always get some at Christmas. Let's them all off the hook for that "little extra gift for Mum". I tend to buy the Waitrose version which is good.
You are on my "cheers" list now. Hope I can fit you all in because If I have a second glass I won't be able to make a meal afterwards !

Gingster Mon 13-Sept-21 16:10:27

Another Sherry drinker here. It has to be Bristol cream . Cheers!

Grandmajean Mon 13-Sept-21 15:43:05

Will raise my glass to you, too then BlueSapphire
wine

BlueSapphire Mon 13-Sept-21 13:27:12

Grandmajean, I'm rather partial to a sherry as well!

Annapops Mon 13-Sept-21 11:51:11

Fantastic scarecrows BlueSapphire.

A late good morning from Durham where it's very dreary out.

I'm not long back from a beautiful school Mass welcoming the new term and the children new to the school. It's such a joy being on the "otherside" without teacher supervision responsibilities (part of my past) during church services. I must say my three GC along with their peers, did themselves proud.

Later today we will be on school collection duty but for now I think I'll relax into some knitting I need to complete for Centreparcs in November (I'm well ahead of myself).

Welcome all new to this thread today and a special mention to grandMattiethanks.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Dogsmakemesmile Mon 13-Sept-21 11:39:08

Grey and dry in the Scottish Borders. Lentil soup made and pizza dough ready for tonight. DD1 has Covid but feeling ok. Her little ones and husband negative.
Thank you Grandmattie for your post. Thinking of you.
Apologies have not read all posts. Best day possible wished for all Good Morning people.

annsixty Mon 13-Sept-21 11:31:46

Good morning all.
It is not often I am jealous of anybody but Gwenisgreat I really am.
Llandudno is one of my very favourite places.
We had a caravan just a few miles away for about 10 years and my H and I have had some wonderful times there.
I only have the memories of both him and Llandudno now but they are very, very happy ones.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 13-Sept-21 11:13:07

Sorry photo refused an appearance

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 13-Sept-21 11:11:06

Good Morning from Drizzy Llandudno, nevertheless it's lovely sitting at the window watching the sea roll in and people and dog walking along the promenade - photo a view my my window!
Had a tootle round the town yesterday (it has hardly changed), bought two pairs of trousers and a pair of shoes - the most I've spent on myself since before lockdown. Going shortly to an 'out of town' shopping area, maybe buy new landline telephones, it's so easy to buy stuff here, shops are convenient
I'll have a sherry or liqueur in the evening occasionally also - a nice little it of relaxation after a busy day.

Have as good a day as possible, folks

Grandmajean Mon 13-Sept-21 11:10:55

More sherry drinkers than I thought ! My family laugh at me . They won't be laughing now.
Here's to us ! wine

Ashcombe Mon 13-Sept-21 11:01:10

Another occasional Sherry drinker here, as long as it's very dry. Croft Particular is favourite.

LauraNorder Mon 13-Sept-21 10:50:54

Hope the back improves Hollysteers and Olddudders too

Good morning Mick and all from grey and dull but still beautiful Anglesey.
A warm welcome to you Cenedra, are you north, south, east or west?
Another imbiber of Sherry here. A good club to be in.
Glad you’re safely home Corner and that the butler is doing well.
Glad you’re able to find a few random pink flamingos grandMattie in your memories of your Philip. Memories to treasure.
Hope everyone finds a few.
Have the best day you can?

Blossoming Mon 13-Sept-21 10:38:22

Was that the museum in Pannett Park Hollysteers? I love all the curiosities jumbled together, Mr. B and I were once given a tour by a very knowledgeable local guide.

Grandmajean Mon 13-Sept-21 10:25:02

Good morning Mick and all. It’s pouring down here in Lancashire and much cooler. Temperature currently 13°C.

I have a cupboard to empty today, wonder what treasures I might find smile.

FannyCornforth Mon 13-Sept-21 10:21:09

Good morning all!
Hollysteers I hope that you saw the Dead Man’s Hand! shock
Thinking of you GrandMattie thanks

hollysteers Mon 13-Sept-21 10:09:33

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers Lancashire coast.
It certainly was a long day trip by coach yesterday to Whitby, coast to coast, but getting them in before the winter. I enjoyed it, but wish my back didn’t give in after walking around for a bit. I have a Velcro back support, which is a great help, but the dull aching gets me down as I love sightseeing. I found a very eccentric museum started by a local patron full of weird curiosities, I love places like that.
DS coming later, will pick apples and plums and write some postcards which I do even for little trips.
Thoughts to harrigran grandMattie and welcome cenedra

Daisytwoshoes Mon 13-Sept-21 09:59:14

Hello cenedra .
I love a Sherry too, especially while cooking the Sunday roast .

EkwaNimitee Mon 13-Sept-21 09:31:48

Good Morning Mick and everyone, and welcome, Cenedra.
It's gloomily grey here in Carlisle though we could do with some rain for the garden.
Yesterday was a notable day...I got out early and washed the car! It was a disgrace, dirtied by living next to a building site and being driven round country roads. Since spring, I'd just confined myself to hosing the dust off occasionally, obviously totally insufficient as my bucket of water was soon very black. I finished it off with a chamois and, for the rest of the day whenever I passed the window, I had to look out and admire it gleaming away!
Today should be a laundry day but that's postponed as I have a routine hospital check up which will probably involve a blood test. My only concern will be finding a car parking space though that hasn't been a problem since covid.
My thoughts are with you, grandMattie, it's good you are together with your family supporting each other.
The best possible day to all.

Jaxjacky Mon 13-Sept-21 09:14:00

A warm welcome Cenedra where are you?
