I’ve had this put in my garden about 3 months ago and its now started to sound like your walking on snow.

Has this happened to anyone else, or do you know why this has happened.

It’s plastic.

Nope and we have had it for years really pleased with it (gave up with grass spent a fortune on that, too many trees near by re-turfed about 4 times, seeded, the works total nightmare )
Best decision we made. But crunchy?? Go back to installer and enquire.
Good luck

Hate the stuff bad for the environment bad for insects bad for dogs if it’s hot, bad for everything.
Strong opinion I m afraid

We have some artificial grass after years of trying everything to get real grass to grow. A good quality one, laid by professionals, and we are very pleased with it. Not a huge area so we were able to spend more. OH does hoover it to get debris out and it does stop the neighbours talking to him! Maybe try this if it sounds crunchy.
We put pots on it and this doesn't damage it. The one thing you need to watch is that it gets hot on sunny days, so no not good for animals or children with bare feet.

Me too!

Lawns are not essential and even gravel with plants growing through would be better for the environment if you don't want to cut a lawn.

Totally agree callistermom gravel and alpine plants look after themselves and look lovely, or even a few big pots if you’re unable to tend a garden
Plastic grass should be banned in my thoughts

We visited an elderly couple (well, a little bit older than us) a couple of weeks ago and their garden was fantastic, beautiful and he spends a lot of time growing from seed and cuttings.
However, when we looked round I realised their lawn was artificial and it was very much past its best.

At least grass keeps growing and there are alternatives or even lawn-mowing services.

Sorry, I'm not being helpful OP. Perhaps another poster may know.
