In my case, Benidorm?

Dubai - nothing to see, just high rise buildings and huge 8 lane motorways.
Luxor, Egypt - a hovel, and constantly harassed by shop keepers (though absolutely loved the Nile Cruise we went on and can thoroughly recommend it).
Benidorm - just the pits.
New York in summer - searing heat and it smelt dreadful (all those industrial size bins at the back of food outlets stunk to high heaven) and the local people were so abrupt and unfriendly.
Miami - it felt quite threatening and on the taxi journey to our hotel saw some really deprived areas.
In defence of some other places mentioned on this thread - love Turkey (try Kalkan or Kas, gorgeous places), never been pick-pocketed on our numerous visits to Rome and have had lovely holidays in Portugal (Lisbon and Lagos). Just goes to show, we are all very different!

I’ve enjoyed most places we’ve been to, and quite a few are on this list. But there are loads that only warranted one visit.

If it comes down to one place, I’d say Los Angeles. We spent three days there and it was two too many.

Rhyl. My mum and I dubbed it ‘Rotten Rhyl’ after a weekend there - admittedly years ago. It might be nicer now of course but I don’t plan to check!

Corsica - unless you are fluent in French and even then you can have problems

Pisa - total rip off, the tower is surrounded by stalls selling cheap tourist rubbish at sky high prices and you have to pay to go into the church (not a donation - an entry fee)

I agree with Lucca. We went to Weston SM on Sunday. It used to be nice but I hadn't been there for over 30 years much has changed and not for the better.

Why Northallerton GranEd?
Mine is Blackpool had an awful experience there in 2012 GS was 3 and exh was very I'll he wasn't invited but came along sat on a bench all day feeling ill. There was a stall on a backstreet and a man lifted GS up onto the stall and said what do you want to win and I don't really know how it happened but they said I had to pay £10 then it was £20 and they had hold of GS I said that was enough but I was on my own and feeling very weak and vulnerable because of ex's illness so I gave them the money.
Anyway that was that I will never go there again.

Canadiangran, I’m quite surprised to find Barbados on the never to visit again list. It’s a beautiful island with friendly people.

Aberdeen is the granite city but whe my DD and I were there to look at the University we found it greycand depressing, and it closed at 5:30.

Rome. The people are as arrogant as they are reputed to be and they have made nothing of the treasures they have. Such a let down.

The pavements are narrow and full of cracks. Even in trainers I felt constantly in danger of twisting my ankle. The famous cafes are a ripoff and traffic is horrendous, spouting exhaust fumes at you if you do sit in one of the street cafes.

OK there are millions of tourists, have to accept that, but they are not offered much and groups of youngsters will get stroppy if bored.

I don't know of anyone who hasn't been pickpocketed there. My son had his purse taken. I took many precautions, only taking cash when out and about, spread over several small purses in different pockets. Phone shoved right down my bra. Hotel key left at reception DH had a pedometer attached to his belt which was nicked.

Also: Lisbon. Again, lots of treasures, all in state of disrepair. They only seem to expect tourists. We walked for miles and didn't see a single shop where you could just pop in and buy a packet of tissues or a bottle of shampoo. All that was on sale were cheap souvenirs or designer clothes. The people were nicer, though, and food decent at non-ripoff prices

Let me be the first then. No one in my group of 3 was pick pocketed in 2007. Though we did see it happen to someone else!

Barbados.

This is a bucket list location for me. What makes you never want to return?

MissAdventure Mon 13-Sept-21 22:52:28

Walking about eating chips sounds grand to me. grin

Mogsmaw Mon 13-Sept-21 22:50:59

Northallerton.

Why Northallerton, not disputing, just cur.

Greyduster Mon 13-Sept-21 22:32:22

Yarmouth - run down and never seen so many people walking about eating chips!
Salzburg - I have no idea why they encourage tourists, they treat them appallingly.
Aberystwyth - can’t think of anything nice to say about it.
And as of last week:
Bridlington. Filthy streets and public seating. Shocked at its decline.

Mancjules Mon 13-Sept-21 22:22:16

Anywhere there is a Christmas Market. Ugh. Bah humbug.

JaneJudge Mon 13-Sept-21 22:02:13

poor Llandudno

Chewbacca Mon 13-Sept-21 21:59:02

Prestatyn, awful place! In fact I don't like North Wales at all. All that grey slate is just depressing.

Can't argue with you 're Prestatyn grannyrebel; it is grim! But North Wales is huge and has the most stunning mountains, beaches and coastal areas in the whole of the UK. But I'm probably biased! grin

Granniesunite Mon 13-Sept-21 21:52:29

Ibiza. husband and all the kids were ill. Never never go there again .

NanKate Mon 13-Sept-21 21:51:01

Shopping area/High Street, Maidenhead. How it can be called The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead I don’t know.

I love the old fashioned charm of the Isle of Wight ?
