Oh, thank you Nams! I missed that somehow.
That’s incredibly nice of you to think of me. I will have a look online.
Unfortunately, Bath is a long way from me.
I remember going to a exhibition of 60s fashion photography in Bath in the 80s, I wonder if it’s the same place…
Thank you again! thanks

Kim werriting is quite different to wittering; but I admit that I am quite talented at both!

monk I’ve noticed on the GM thread that you are in the Black Country.
I went to school and grew up around Quarry Bank, and I think that it is very BC there, we have a lot of dialect, I suppose.
My dad lives in Amblecote.

Kim19 Mon 04-Oct-21 18:48:36

Is that on a par with wittering, Fanny?

Namsnanny Mon 04-Oct-21 15:03:40

Fanny I've sent you a pm. Nothing to worry about, just some info about pre raphaelite painters, as I know your interested. smile

Like that word Fanny not a word I've ever heard must be old Black Country. Lived here almost 50yrs but we're on the edge of the Black Country.

Thank you NotAGran I’ve got to stop werriting about the flipping Active List!

(Is ‘werriting’ a word in common use? Or is it a Black Country thing?
It means worrying in a rather pointless fashion)

Hello!
I’m a bit late on parade this morning.
I’ve been awake since 3am though, due to a power cut setting off someone’s alarm. It also makes my stair lift bleep most annoyingly.
It’s the second time in a week the electricity has gone off in our street.
I can’t help but think that it could be a taste of things to come…

Mollygo Sat 02-Oct-21 16:53:52

That’s good that he’s feeling well enough to pamper you. Enjoy!

nadateturbe Sat 02-Oct-21 14:11:02

That's good FannyC. I'm glad DH is home and looking after you.

FannyCornforth Sat 02-Oct-21 09:55:48

Thank you Molly and Nadateturbe
I am still bed, with no intention to get up yet!
DH is home now Nada, he came home on Wednesday smile
He’s doing very well. In fact, he’s just made me a brew

Mollygo Sat 02-Oct-21 09:15:33

Hope you’re feeling better now Fanny. If the weather is like it is here, then staying cosy in bed is probably the best place to be anyway.

nadateturbe Sat 02-Oct-21 09:05:25

Oh Fanny I hope you're all right. Being physically sick is horrible, even more so when you're alone. flowers

grandMattie Sat 02-Oct-21 05:51:07

She did Eng. Lit, but a few years later did a BA in theology at Cambridge.

FannyCornforth Sat 02-Oct-21 05:36:09

Thank you Mattie
I’ve never had a massage.
I noticed the other day on the GM thread that your daughter went to the University of York. I did as well. It was a fabulous place to live. What did your daughter study?

grandMattie Sat 02-Oct-21 05:32:07

Sorry about that Fanny. Hope you have a better day.
Enjoyed my massage yesterday,I wonder if that helped me sleep more deeply for the few hours I did get some ?.

FannyCornforth Sat 02-Oct-21 04:58:36

‘Morning.
I’ve been awake since 1 am.
Was actually physically sick earlier on (sorry if tmi).
Feeling okay now though.
Nice and cosy in bed .

Thank you so much, you’re very kind cg

cornergran Tue 28-Sept-21 06:05:48

Hope you get that visit fanny. You’d feel more at ease I’m sure. I’ve had the TKR. It’s early days yet, managing well in the day, night time can be uncomfortable. Overall it’s so far so good. Seeing a physio I know and trust today who will I’m sure be able to nag me about exercises and generally point me in the right direction. Please don’t worry about your hip. I was assured by my surgeon and a very practical hospital physio that recovery from hip replacement is very straightforward. Not sure about your experience but I found if I mentioned being on the list for a TKR most people loved to tell me horror stories they had heard. If that’s happening to you ignore them. You’ve a lot going on just now. Hope today brings some positive for you.

Kim19 Tue 28-Sept-21 05:59:47

Hello Fanny and good morning! Hope your husband's health has improved and he's back home with you. Highlight of my day promises to be lunch with my cousin in a venue I adore. Keenly watching the prospective temperature as it dropped to 9 last night and that was a shock to the system indeed. So dislike the cold. Ugh!

FannyCornforth Tue 28-Sept-21 05:54:40

Hi cornergran thank you. It turns out that one of the problems with DH, is that he was drinking too much water.
He was told by his RA nurse to drink at least two litres hmm
They think that he might have a UTI.
I was going to visit him today, but he’s moving wards and I don’t know if I’ll still be able too.
Sorry, cghave you had the TKR, or are you waiting for one?
I’ll be needing to have a hip one at some point.

cornergran Tue 28-Sept-21 05:45:49

Morning. I’m awake if you’re still around fanny. How is your husband? Hope, you’ve had some positive news. Had a TKR coming up to three weeks ago, manageable during the day it likes to let me know it’s there at night.

FannyCornforth Tue 28-Sept-21 05:27:05

Just bumping if anyone would like a chat.
It’s not showing in the list. Again hmm

FannyCornforth Tue 28-Sept-21 05:26:00

Hello all
Sorry, nadateturbe, I’ve only just seen your message.
Thank you for your kind thoughts.
Yes, our neighbours really are lovely.

nadateturbe Mon 27-Sept-21 07:07:23

Good morning all. I got quite a good sleep 5-6 hours. I used Rescue night drops and magnesium spray. Don't know if it helped or was just a coincidence.
We are at the caravan. Had a lovely walk at NT Murlough Nature Reserve yesterday.
Think this will be our last visit. Some folk stay until end of season mid October and we do have central heating but it's not for me. Its great though not having all the housework and no stairs to climb. More energy for enjoyable things. I hope you all have as good a day as possible.
Will be thinking of you and OH FannyC. Your neighbours sound lovely. I'm glad they were there for you.
