Thank you nadateturbe oh, so do I.
He rang me last night around 10.30 and was still waiting for a bed.
He reckoned that he hadn’t been ‘given anything’, but he must have had something or other, because he sounded pretty much totally ‘with it’.
I’m hoping and praying that it can be easily sorted with antibiotics and that he’ll be out today.
It’s throwing it down with rain here, which I find very comforting, and I’ve been listening to that buffoon Steve Allen on the radio!
Are you still at your caravan nadateturbe?

nadateturbe Mon 27-Sept-21 06:44:45

FannyCornforth I'm sorry to hear about your husband. It's such a worry for you when you can't be there to look after him. I hope he's home soon. flowers

FannyCornforth Mon 27-Sept-21 05:39:25

It’s very windy here.
I’m really worried about DH as he’s got to drink lots of water for his kidneys, and I’m not sure if they’ll give him enough.
Also, he’s got all his extremely numerous tablets, but he won’t have a clue what to take and when, as I do everything for him sad

Hi Kim we went to the tip on Friday! We had to book, it was a massive rigmarole- it would have been easier to get an audience with the Pope.

I took a bag full of hairdryers and straighteners and stuff because I don’t use them anymore. I felt guilty, but you can’t do anything with small electrical anymore can you?
But one of the blokes there was delighted with them and took them for his wife and daughters.

We decided to make a day of it smile and get some diesel, we were really lucky as we saw a tiny petrol station tucked away which we’d never even seen before. We then got stuck in an over a mile long queue for the big Sainsbury’s petrol station for two hours.

‘Morning all.
Gosh, there’s a lot of us about this morning.
I hope that you managed to get some sleep in the end, one way or another.
My husband is in hospital again.
At around 4am yesterday morning, he started saying all manner of weird stuff and acting strange. He decided to make a cup of tea in the ‘upstairs kitchen’ (not unusual in itself) but it became apparent that he had no idea how to do it and got all mixed up.
I thought (prayed) that it could be a reaction to his strong painkillers and an otc sleeping tablet, and tried to help him get back to sleep, but it carried on.
Completely coincidentally Maw sent me a pm, so I told her what was happening.
She thought that it might have been a TIA (I think that’s what she said, it’s a type of minor stroke).
I really wanted a doctor to come, but that seems impossible these days for whatever reason, so I rang 999.
Which I knew was going to be really hard, because it wouldn’t have gone down well with DH.
I was really lucky, on that our lovely next door neighbours were here and not at their holiday home.
The husband sat talking with DH in the garden for about an hour, while his wife sat with me waiting for the ambulance.
The paramedics were lovely.
Anyway, he’s got (another) chest infection and a fever.

Hi all! I've been awake for hours but doing catchup on this machine in various arenas. Highlight of the day for me so far will be a visit to the local tip to dispose of all the gardening rubbish I cut back yesterday. Think my Wisteria has gone insane with growth. Never seen it like this before. Also cut back my dead Marguerites. What was a joy to the eye turned into an equatorial forest for the back. Jeepers! However, cosily in bed here is the perfect antidote. Lovely.

Don’t sleep much these days, though I have a nap in the afternoon if I can. Dry here. It hardly ever rains… fairly quiet day to come.

hollysteers Mon 27-Sept-21 04:32:10

Awake meself and all my own fault. No early start in the morning, enjoyed a film noir from 1945, then facebook stalking and about to read my book. Feel like chocolate but none in the house.
Blustery outside and the cat has just jumped out of the bedroom window (ground level). Hope she comes back soon and cuddles on the bed.

Shinamae Mon 27-Sept-21 04:16:38

Torrential rain and a headache have woken me up ?‍♀️

Nannytopsy Mon 27-Sept-21 03:07:53

Morning! I have taken a few ibuprofen over the last couple of days for my arthritis and as a result woke up with indigestion. Just waiting for it to clear so that I can lie down again. ?
The cat is keeping me company!

BBbevan Mon 27-Sept-21 02:08:13

The wind is howling here and it is pouring. DH was snoring so has been banished to another bedroom. I'll be awake now for an hour or so. Hope everyone else awake gets to drop off soon.

travelsafar Mon 27-Sept-21 01:28:07

I'm awake and don't want to be. My sleep pattern is shot.

Mollygo Sat 25-Sept-21 10:11:13

I’ve just read your unsolicited mail answer. I hope the delivery man was paid per flier posted and not by take up!

FannyCornforth Sat 25-Sept-21 06:14:48

Hi Molly
I just posted again - it was the 5.42 one that made it appear.
I’ve posted on the Ask a Question thread this morning, and that’s nowhere to be seen confused

Mollygo Sat 25-Sept-21 06:09:21

So what did you do to make it show?

FannyCornforth Sat 25-Sept-21 05:43:11

Ah! That’s done it!

FannyCornforth Sat 25-Sept-21 05:42:46

Great. Now this thread isn’t showing in Active envy
What’s the bloody point?

FannyCornforth Sat 25-Sept-21 05:41:27

‘Morning all!
Anyone around? smilebrew

nadateturbe Fri 24-Sept-21 07:39:45

Thank FannyCornforth I take Vitabiotics. Sounds like it has done wonders for your hair. Maybe I will increase my intake for a while. My hair is very thin.
Hope you and OH have a good day.

FannyCornforth Fri 24-Sept-21 07:04:42

I had to take a massive loading dose of Vitamin D that was prescribed.
Apparently, if you are deficient, the otc stuff won’t do the trick, so you need the loading dose to get it into your system.
I now take Healthspan vitamin D every day.
Thank fully, no hair problems now, and it’s never been so long and thick!
Hope that you have a lovely time at your caravan nadateturbe

nadateturbe Fri 24-Sept-21 06:55:41

That's interesting FannyCornforth. I take vitamin D too. It's supposed to help with the immune system. I take it every other day as too much can cause problems too.
Good morning everyone. Hard to get used to these dark mornings. They seem to have come so quickly. We are off to the caravan. Probably our last stay for the season. I will miss the chat sitting outside with neighbours and a glass of wine.
Last night about 7.30pm the door bell rang and I was filled with excitement at the thought of a surprise visitor as I went to answer. Turned out my husband had set it off by mistake. I was so disappointed. Visitors are rare at the minute. In normal times I would probably have said Who on earth is calling at this hour? grin

grandMattie Fri 24-Sept-21 05:46:06

Gosh, Fanny! Actually, DH and I take vit. D daily in the winter, mostly because it’s good for us wrinklies. Europeans lack this vitamin in the darker days…

FannyCornforth Fri 24-Sept-21 05:37:25

You’re not wrong there Mattie
I’ve mentioned this on here before, that up until recently, I suffered with terrible hair loss for years.
I honestly dread to think of how much I’ve spent on snake oil trying to sort it out. I’ve bought every pill and potion going. It must be in the region of £1,500
Turns out it was a Vitamin D deficiency

Mollygo Fri 24-Sept-21 05:34:40

Never tried any of those. I knew beetroot is good for blood pressure, but I’ve only ever roasted it, not taken it medicinally.
I think we might be having a lot more to offset the current surge of panics.
